Mole Posted 29 January, 2009 Share Posted 29 January, 2009 This surely makes Lowe and Wildes positions untenable. Mole Posted 29 January, 2009 Share Posted 29 January, 2009 Excuse me? Because of THEM? So I can punch you in the face and blame THEM? Grow up ffs. Whether they've been bad chairmen, dodgy businessmen, WHATEVER, if you go around assaulting people at a football game you can't cry off with a lame excuse like that. SaintRobbie Posted 29 January, 2009 Share Posted 29 January, 2009 Echo gets all its stories from this messageboard. The point is valid. Lowe and Wilde = fan discontentment = more money spent on policing = worse finances. We could afford to bring back Dyer for a while for that. Wilde and Lowe whether its their fault or not are costing the club money. Their presence is a drain on the club - fans not attending, policing let alone the stupidity of Dutch Totally Crap football. They HAVE to go.
Mole Posted 29 January, 2009 Share Posted 29 January, 2009 No their presence is the cause of some staying away, others being fed up with the situation and some protesting. So you do agree Lowes presence is having a detrimental financial effect on the club. Thanks for being so honest. Now given this admission do you agree that their positions are untenable? surrey1saint Posted 29 January, 2009 Share Posted 29 January, 2009 No their presence is the cause of some staying away, others being fed up with the situation and some protesting. It is no excuse for violence. A very, very large proportion of saints fans are decent people, and IMO (hopefully), a large proportion of those against Lowe are also decent people who wouldn't turn violent. Those who have the propensity to turn round and smack another fan because they want to support their team cannot blame any circumstance. I cringe when people have a go at Pompey fans now, or suggest we're a family club etc. If it's not the actually violent people, it's the one absolutely loving the situation, cheering it on or making threats on here. Threats of physical violence on an internet football forum?! It would be laughable if it were so embarassingly depressing. I agee very sad. Mole Posted 29 January, 2009 Share Posted 29 January, 2009 What bothers me far more than Lowe ever did, is the complete lack of tolerence for other's opinions, firstly on here, and now it seems, in the stands. we have a huge number of brainless morons supporting us and they are starting to dominate this forum. Make your mind up Adrian. Let's cut to the chase. You are just ****ed off because you are in a minority with the vast majority of fans wanting Lowe Out. Now let's tackle the issue of fans fighting fans. I witnessed two events during the Donny game: Event 1 A pro Lowe supporter telling people not to sing Lowe Out songs - he got decked. It later came out on here that the said decked fan had at halftime got an anti Lowe chanter (smaller than him) by the throat on the concourse. Later in the game he was set upon. Event 2 Behind where i was sitting there was a neanderthal calling those singing anti Lowe songs "fvcking morons" and acting in an aggressive manner. It was my take of the situation that he was looking for a fight. No fight occured in this instance. You are trying to label the anti Lowe element as thugs, but in reality it cuts both ways. That all said the root cause of the symptons is Rupert Lowes presence. He is a divisive presence and the situation will not improve until he's gone. BARCELONASAINT Posted 29 January, 2009 Share Posted 29 January, 2009 I'm made my views on that clear about 1000 times though. As far as I'm concerned the club is in a financial mess but would be without them as well. I don't buy crouch's comment that we'd be financial sound now under him, as he doesn't even have the 6m to clear our overdraft. If he has further backing, where is it? I'd love someone with more money to come in, I'd love wilde or lowe to have more money to put it, i'd love crouch to have enough to take over, anything to improve the situation. Lowe's presence no doubts wipes a few of the gate, but IMO, as I've said before, I don't believe we'd get that many more fans for a low CCC team selling off players. I don't like Lowe, I'm confused by Wilde, and I really don't like Askham, but I couldn't suggest we'd be magically fine again if they left. So I avoid protests, I just go to see my team, and I desperately want them to win and stay up. That's about it. I've been far more anti-lowe in the past, embarassingly so. What bothers me far more than Lowe ever did, is the complete lack of tolerence for other's opinions, firstly on here, and now it seems, in the stands. It's not like I've ever suggest to be pro-Lowe, I'm just not fiercely and bitterly against him. I don't want to hit any fans, I don't want him or Wilde dead. Yet that's enough to get abuse from people on here. It's not even the brainless categories of pro-lowe and anti-lowe now, it's group 1 - 100% completely against anything Lowe to the point of bitter obsession and anger, and group 2 -any who don't conform to this are lowe luvvies. I can't stand the lack of any common sense, the need to be so clearcut and narrow minded about everything. The only reason I keep reading the forum is that there are many decent and respectful fans who have good points to make, helpful points, constructive posts and interesting comments. Not stereotypical angry abuse and the constant desire to be right at all costs. So as for untenable, I don't know. Very difficult certainly as the fans continue to protest, but he knew it would get like that so I imagine he's used to it. Have to wait and see. I just hope we have CCC football next season and no more need to sell everyone. 100% agree with you mate.

docker-p Posted 29 January, 2009 Share Posted 29 January, 2009 (edited) So tired of this now. **** it. Even if the board changes and things improve, which I hope they do, it won't change the fact we have a huge number of brainless morons supporting us and they are starting to dominate this forum. I think many would be lost without something to protest about, without the Lowe aspect. Are any fans actually proud of the "southampton yoof"? It's ****ing embarassing at the games I've been to. Not that it's just them of course, with many older fans proving equally pathetic. It's more of a shame as this has been a great club, and the forums have always been great. A lot of hard work has gone into them, and people's money to set them up and keep it running, and even when they changed name etc., they remained busy. There are many posters, some who've come and gone, who obviously have a lot to offer, some great insight and long history of supporting Saints, and some younger fans who contribute a lot of positive stuff. Not any specific opinion, anti-lowe, pro-lowe, anti-crouch, pro-crouch, anti-mcgoldrick, pro-mcgoldrick, it doesn't matter, there's still people with good points to make, even Alpine! But the others, the abuse, the hijacking of threads, the threats, bitter obsession with Lowe to the point where respect for other fans dissolves, and the feeling that so many want to see us fail, is just too much now. So I can't be arsed because I have no doubt most read one word then make their minds up, especially is in that one word you don't convey sheer hatred of Rupert Lowe. So enjoy the forum and stuff. It's really time I actually got on with doing some work anyway. Oh ffs, yet another 'don't protest, don't get angry, don't make too much noise in public, anyone who isn't like me is a 'Chav' thread'. Well done Adrian and thanks for the contribution. Meanwhile, lets concentrate on the fact Lowe, and Wilde by their very presents are costing us £60K a match. When will those who prop these pair of clowns up take notice? Edited 29 January, 2009 by docker-p

Colinjb Posted 29 January, 2009 Share Posted 29 January, 2009 Every club has idiots in their fanbase, and these idots will act up if there is an excuse to. Lowe and Wilde are a convenient excuse for this. Anything inflammatory during bad times will set them off. I would conclude on that basis that it is due to Lowe and Wilde continuing on that the extra 60k for policing is required, saying it's just due to the thugs is rediculous, some policing is required in the first place to counteract them anyway! One stupid, idiotic remark which could very well have been said tongue in cheek and someone slags the rest of us off. You obviously don't care that our club is nose diving in an ever increasing haste. Look out salisbury we are soon going to be playing you on a more regular base. ( hopefully just a jest) I do not condone violence but you think everyone going to protest is a moronic drink or drug fuelled yob. What about my 5 yo boy is he tarnished with the same brush? Wake up or shut up. Too many times if someone says something different we have to have a squabble on here. Done within certain boundaries this can be highly entertaining. As far as I am concerned I am going to the march to tell anyone who wants to listen how I feel about my club. I certainly won't be at the front of the column and I fervently pray this march goes ahead without trouble. I for one want Askham, Wilde and Lowe to get out and sell up. We don't expect this march to achieve much more than alert others to our aims. This in itself could solidify our position simply because we have been noticed thereby increasing our numbers for whatever we do next. None of us knows where this will take us but some of us have grown tired of empty promises and falling standards. We hope to gather support where we can. A few names from the recent past have spoken about the club's plight but we sit and watch doing nothing do we? Not anymore. In house squabbling is not going to help our cause or yours. That is of course, if you would still like to see our team win a game now and then. And as for the threat made by Scott saint well that is so childish it is beyond comprehension. Making such a ridiculous post leaves him wide open for lots of nasty comments if it were intended as a threat. Personally I would simply have asked for it's removal. Not have risen to the bait. Nineteen Canteen Posted 29 January, 2009 Share Posted 29 January, 2009 This surely makes Lowe and Wildes positions untenable. Not only is the presence of Lowe and Wilde detrimental to gate recepits but it costs more to police games because of them. LOWE OUT. WILDE OUT. Cost more to police games because of a few fans who cannot accept that other fans have other views than them so choose to use their fists instead. Unless you can come up with a viable alternative all you are doing is advocating and supporting public disorder, creating aggressive and violent scenes just because you don't care for what others are trying to achieve for morons such as yourself. Hopefully, the £60,000 will be money well spent if it means getting idiots like you arrested and banned from 'supporting' the club home and away. I am looking forward to telling a few of you to sit down and no doubt be rewarded with a shower of spit as you shout your bile and wave your season tickets in some kind of hard done by protest and eyeball a few pensioners and children alike. So Stanley - Lowe out, Wilde out and then what? Try growing up and take a good look around you about what the majority think of you and those with equally strident views and whilst you're at it think about the recession and how you may consider you are actually contributing to the worry and misery that many maybe experiencing. You are obviously proud of your efforts and hell bent on ruining the enjoyment of the majority who simply want to support the Saints no matter what, still you will no doubt be posting on here at 3-05pm on Saturday - good boy. My guess it's only those who aren't bothered about their public perception and place in society who will have anything to do with any ugly demonstration in and out of the ground.
