We’ll also play Archer as our 9 Im not prescribed to the school that says we need a target man, we don’t play long balls like Wrexham do 1
Hopper Posted yesterday at 12:20 Posted yesterday at 12:20 There simply aren’t a lot of other options certainly none less risky than what we have. On paper we have a historically potent front line at this level with Arma, Stewart and Archer. I believe with good service we will work it out. 3
Dusic Posted yesterday at 12:23 Posted yesterday at 12:23 (edited) Archer especially will score regularly with the right players around him IMO. He needs a run in the team. Ikone, who we have been linked with (probably pre Fellows) is joining Paris FC. Edited yesterday at 12:30 by Dusic 5

Hopper Posted yesterday at 12:33 Posted yesterday at 12:33 Exactly so why would we risk getting a new 9 in. I think a low risk loan might be an option to provide a different profile/solution but it’ll be 11th hour if at all.

Everyone is a risk, except for the players you've specifically thought of but the club have ignored. Those are dead certs.
Greedyfly Posted yesterday at 13:22 Posted yesterday at 13:22 (edited) I actually think Stewart is our best bet (I know I've said it before). I'm unconvinced by Archer, and if we're looking for crosses into the middle, AA and Archer are weaker options I've also actually been impressed with Stewart's work with the ball when not in the box. Albeit in small cameos. Edited yesterday at 13:48 by Greedyfly 3
Willo of Whiteley Posted yesterday at 13:28 Posted yesterday at 13:28 I doubt we were ever in for Ikone. I’m going to predict that Stewart plays a part in no more than 26 league games this season. It’ll be a shock to medical teams across the sport if he played more than that.
Willo of Whiteley Posted yesterday at 13:29 Posted yesterday at 13:29 A report going about of Ben Brereton-Diaz looking to be on the way to Derby. If he is I hope it is permanent, but I doubt it.

ChrisPY Posted yesterday at 13:45 Posted yesterday at 13:45 Find it a bit strange that there’s so much love for Kieffer Moore. Move on. Wish we’d signed Carlton Morris though.
BARCELONASAINT Posted yesterday at 13:47 Posted yesterday at 13:47 More dead wood shifted thank god. BBD really has been an awful signing for us. Not sure what went wrong with him. Just didn't work in a Russball team?? (who did?) Was always crap?, lacked confidence? Totally flucked a couple of decent seasons previously? Who knows, i'm just glad he's gone for now. 1

BARCELONASAINT Posted yesterday at 13:51 Posted yesterday at 13:51 Translated from Turkish by Grok Southampton has loaned Livakovic with a purchase option. The option is 5.5 m€. Fenerbahçe will cover 15% of the player's salary this season. Have no idea if the posters is reliable for this or a total waster? 1

Likely a weird made up post based on his FM game or something. Livakovic is a Croatian international goalie, who is way above us. Edited yesterday at 13:56 by S-Clarke

LGTL Posted yesterday at 14:09 Posted yesterday at 14:09 Yeah, Livakovic actually makes saves so there’s no chance we’d be interested in him. 2

Badger Posted yesterday at 14:21 Posted yesterday at 14:21 3 hours ago, Appy said: That same Stoke keeper who chucked one in yesterday. Any GK will make a mistake from time to time, Sprake threw the ball into his own net once, Shilton “could have done better” - to use the current phrase - v Poland in a WC qualifier (as he later admitted) and at Saints there was Boruc and his attempted Cruyff turn v Arsenal But when a GK is regularly MOM and in teams of the season etc I think supporters accept the occasional mistake. Not a GK who is regularly deemed to be at fault, and makes the occasional save. 4

Going all statto on you, and putting this on the Carillo scale, most were probably 10 minute cameos as a substitute. Pretty poor return though I agree. Would like to see him come good after what he/we’ve been through but unlikely. 1
Hopper Posted yesterday at 14:31 Posted yesterday at 14:31 2 minutes ago, lambtiss said: The reason we horde strikers is that we have bought a plethora of low-quality ones Your two suggestions in this thread have been Kieffer Moore and Carlton Morris, both pressumably influenced by their start to this season, come off it now. We have proven quality strikers, better than either of those two. They need service and game time.
Hopper Posted yesterday at 14:43 Posted yesterday at 14:43 (edited) Scienza looks like it could be 'Here we go' shortly. Edit: Checked in with a german mate and Kicker are pretty credible apparently. (I was skeptical on the source) Edited yesterday at 14:50 by Hopper 8
