Lighthouse Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Might as well just book some train tickets to Croydon now before prices go up.

Could well be, one or two extra away games might be the difference between getting a ticket for Portsmouth away or not. The away end holds 972 seats, I reckon we'll sell out quite quickly. Depends on how confident they are on selling out or not. Kevin Nolan their manager these days. 1

They gave us extra when we played there in 2009, I'm pretty sure they gave us end behind goal and half side stand, I'd expect same again if needed as they won't fill it, was about 2000 we took up Edited June 26 by Football Special 1
EssEffCee Posted June 26 Posted June 26 They would have had to give them more for that though presumably as it was FA Cup? All depends on how many they expect to sell.
Mr Brightside Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Jeez I’m getting old. Just checked the team for the game in 2009. Graeme Murty! I don’t even remember him signing for us, let alone playing in that game - and I was there! 1

Defending was a bit sloppy at times. Good day out though. Our fans were singing to Akinfenwa 🎵 ‘you should have gone to KFC’ 🎵
obelisk Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Memories of my first ever game at The Dell in 1963 and a Saints 3-1 win. Did I really go along as a 9 y/o lad on my own? 🤔
spyinthesky Posted June 29 Posted June 29 According to Pompey fans the meeting of two lots of strike breakers ie Combined Union of Northamptonshire Tanners and Shoemakers... versus Southampton Combined Union of Men We should all be ashamed of the actions of our forebearers but not as much as the Pompey fans who made up this utter tosh. At least the Northampton version had some reasonable thought given to it!!!!!!!!!!! 1

It is a Hampton Derby and the home crowd may want to come out to see us - but it is also a midweek game so hopeful they'll give us the 2,000 tickets some are mentioning.
M271 Posted Saturday at 15:38 Author Posted Saturday at 15:38 McCarthy in goal, Manning and Archer or Stewart who came on today starting + other subs not played today?

No reason to rotate Bazunu out, give him as much match experience as possible from here on out. We've committed to him being our number one so let's give him as much opportunity to improve as possible. 1

Managers / coaches more often than not like to keep their other keeper match sharp by playing them in League cup. It will be interesting whether WS goes down the route of major changes to the starting lineup or a few changes to keep the core of his preferred team to gel. He will obviously also have an eye on the team he wants to put out against Ipswich. Edited Sunday at 09:41 by M271 1
