Wouldn’t have thought so, it’s a technical detail probably most familiar to police/enforcemebt officers, motoring organisations, driving instructors and the courts, but leaving the scene is a distinct offence and set of penalties.

Gavin is hit and miss still - some improvement but remains well off Champ standard and consistency overall. And you’ve only got to watch Downs with your own eyes…worst outfield player I’ve ever seen in a Southampton first team shirt, and that includes Ali Dia. Gavin back in the team I would strongly suspect is Rasmus’s influence - the only positive thing Still did was drop him but the goalkeeping situation has been a total mess for years. All they needed to do was loan him out and get a solid first XI keeper in for this level which McCarthy is a bit too old to be now. Not expensive, should have been sorted.

Ii would argue (and often have) that he is about average for this level. I've seen a lot worse this evening in the Premier League and to be honest none of the goalkeepers that we have faced of late has been better.

The only opposition keeper we have faced this season who I would say is actually worse than Baz is Ethan Horvath at Sheff Wednesday - an emergency loan from Cardiff after their only other senior GK got injured. But even then, I've also seen him make occasional saves of the kind that Baz has never been capable of.

He is not average for this level.

If you’ve genuinely seen “a lot worse in the premier league” over the same course of time that Bazunu has been relentlessly and consistently not saving shots for us, I’d suggest following a different sport pal.

Presumably he wasn’t on club business at the time he was driving. Realising he was a shit footballer perhaps they asked him to collect and deliver a consignment of cones to Staplewood. Although seems unlikely they’d ask him to do that without training him to manage a sheep dog. Just in case one of the cones decided to give him the slip and make a run for it.

He did allegedly drive off from the scene of an accident though, that’s frequently a ban and a big fine in court. Club sorted it out seemingly. Agree that the woman on the video is doing a Francis Lee in the penalty box though, going over dramatically. He admitted liability via his insurer, her car was repaired, get on with your business and life. Millions like her pollute the Nextdoor apps.

I got speaking to a Cologne fan last weekend whilst in Germany. Quite a knowledgeable guy who was in their youth team in mid 80’s. Anyway, just having a general conversation about football. Told him I was a Southampton fan, he responded with a laugh and said he couldn’t believe we bought Downs! He still can’t believe how he played so many times for Cologne.

Didn’t need to remind him of how many he scored or assisted. He believes the 2nd tier of the Bundesliga is very poor at the moment, with the exception of a few teams none would survive in the Championship. 

Personally, from what Ive seen of Downs, what are his strengths? I can’t see him making it, hopefully I’m proven wrong as we need another forward.

The difference between the Premiership and the Bundesliga has increased considerably over the last 20 years. The speed of the game in England is much faster. Just relaying what I was told (note 2 hour plus conversation, we spoke about Downs for literally a couple of minutes, probably because we agreed he was poor).

I'm sure there must have been some Monaco fans who questioned how many games Carrillo played for them.

Football is all about opinions. As I said in my earlier post, hope he does come good. I just can’t see any “sparks” at the moment , which makes me think he could or will turn it around.

Weird thing is that I met him at the Leverkusen ground/hotel for the Bayer v Dortmund game. He had to go the game with some of his business clients (Dortmund fans). Leverkusen and Cologne are rivals if you didn’t know(15 min train journey between the two places).

Nobody has made a misstep and nobody has tried putting anyone off. I just wondered whether the goals Downs scored for his team might be the answer to this German fellas confusion. I’m a very helpful person like that.
