I personally think that this is the most earth shattering, history altering transfer since Helen went from Sparta to Troy.

From Sparta Prague to Troy Deeney. That poor woman

Yep, agreed. He's a bloke who doesn't do failure and is giving this the full beans. I approve.

I’ve said before. He took on Putin backed President Vucic ( Vucic accused Dragon of plotting against him ) and won.
Dragan was majority shareholder on Comms giant United Group there was boardroom shenanigans by Vucic supporters and he lost his majority holding. Dragan wants that back.
he’s a busy man. Yet still he’s prepared to throw his weight behind Saints. Seriously think about it. Boro have got washed up Labour Party Gibson.

and still there are divs with an anti- SR agenda.

In an us-against-the-world season a mouthy Israeli goalkeeper was a must. Insane signing.

Good call I wonder if he did his year in the IDF

SR signed Ben Brereton Diaz, Juan Larios and Nathan Wood to play PL football. I’m not sure you need an ‘agenda’ to criticise them.

Having an "anti-SR agenda" and liking Dragan aren't mutually exclusive stances...

And don’t forget Baz earlier. I’m sure you agree he was the worst of the lot.

Well, this escalated quickly. How did we pull that one off? I didn't think we had a chance if we didn't get promoted, but I get a feeling that the way we didn't get promotion has given all the players a bit of a siege mentality - hence the unfinished business.

We're almost certainly going to give it a good crack next season by the looks of it. This addition is huge.

We went into the PL under Martin with Bazunu and McCarthy as our goalies, but we'll enter pre-season with Ramsdale and Pertez in the Championship - crazy.

Going to predict that Peretz’ signing means that Ramsdale’s departure is pretty much a done deal.

Oh yeah for sure, but just in terms of the squad we had upon PL promotion and what we'll have in the Champ - even though temporary - is a crazy jump in quality. No idea how we thought we'd compete under Martin.

Thought you were off on a Dragan funded jaunt to the Bulgarian Black Sea coast?

I think you can differentiate between Solak and Sports Republic. Yes he appointed them but he's not entirely to blame if they fucked up. To a large extent he provides the finance and backing and trusts others not to fuck it up on his behalf.

Given the way the BBC have been reporting on us pretty much daily, I expected this to be headline news on their website...

Think the boro contingent of the press are busy raging at Hackney leaving for circa £10M, Ayling and Fry both likely to go on free transfers (or minimal fee) as well. Its gone under the radar, but looks like Gibbo has allowed a variety of key players to run their contracts down 😄

Quite right. The overwhelming majority of the (wholly justified) criticism of SR has been around the multiple disastrous decisions they've made on the footballing side of things with player recruitment and managerial appointments.

I don't think anyone doubts Dragan's willingness to back the club financially, and I'm sure he is as exasperated as the rest of us with some of the failures we've had to endure. But he also shoulders the ultimate responsibility as Chairman, so he's not above any criticism.

I agree. I think after this month if we are successful he will start to get a lot more praise though.

I think this coming season has the potential to be the making of Solak as owner of saints. He started off with a bunch of idiots in charge and it went badly. He's got more involved and cleared them all out / installed Spors whilst taking a step back still. Spors to me clearly knows his stuff and has been slowly righting the ship, if we can pick up from the momentum of last season now - with the same squad - you'd back us to be very very good by the end of the season. Let alone if he can whip out some more deals like Jander, Scienza, Azaz etc. And on top of that, i think whats happened recently will mean that Solak is going to be right there now, keeping his eye on things, and having learnt the lessons from the previous seasons... Bodes well imho. I can respect that Solak is being even handed in not punishing/sacking anyone for whats happened - its a very fair and forgiving approach he's taken - but it doesn't change the fact that Parsons oversight of the whole thing initially was an absolute car crash. Hopefully Dragan will be on top of things more now, and will make sure the whole operations and coaching/analysts teams are a damn site more organised and professional.

To be fair it's not just Saints, or us fans, just think about modern football, really good, impressive, goalies who have a 'presence' are a great commodity.

I know Peretz is not some sort of 'football god' but think about other team's goalies who come to mind when it comes to 'his performance can win you games' in any of the divisions.

Forget about former goalies or others on the books, think of a goalie at any club, especially our rival clubs, that we could play against that will win them the game just because of the way he plays.

It is a lot rarer and more valuable than you might think.

In my opinion.

Failure seriously ? How old are you ?

Yes, seriously. Feel free to list the reasons why they've been a success.

Good chance we'll be looking at finanical ruin this time next year if we fail to go up next season.

I’m wasting my time I don’t reckon you have much idea do you ? Dragan is loaded and he said ages ago if he did leave he’d make sure we were sorted and also Katrina Leibherr has just put herself on the board . I realise they don’t include this sort of thing on PC games or discuss it on Talksport.
I notice you highlighted the last sentence of my post. I guess the first part was too complicated for you .

I for one think we are showing our intent for the coming season. I do think it is one last big push for promotion and a 2 fingers up to everyone, and this is the best way to do it.

It really does have a rallying war cry about it and I think the players are right behind the ‘let’s give it our all and finish the job”. All the vibes coming out of the club ‘We do not have to sell”, “unfinished business” “a team to get the supporters off their seats”. This with the signings today and the extensions to contracts that have been mentioned. I do believe the club realise that if we can keep most the team together, get rid of the deadweights, and sign a few more then we could win the league next season. Let’s face it if we did keep the squad from last season we would be top 2.

All is very positive, but as a Saints fan I am of course waiting for something to go terribly wrong. But here’s hoping.

Tell you what today has felt good after the last few weeks. Fingers up at every one…

Have you been drinking?

You sound angry (yet again). And your spelling is all over the place. And it’s late. Maybe put the whisky down.

£6m is a fantastic fee for this guy

£8.5M for him and Cyle Larin is, dare I say it, a bargain compared to our last few years of transfer dealings.
