Football Special Posted 21 September, 2025 Posted 21 September, 2025 Is he missing have Bednarek alongside him? Always seemed to play better with him

I thought he'd be a crap signing for us but tbh he wasn't that bad when he played last season in the Prem and has probably been our best CB so far this but finds himself on the bench. On current form he's a better option than both THB and Stephens. He’s the physical sort of player you need in this league, he needs a run of games. 2

Andrew Watson Posted 21 September, 2025 Posted 21 September, 2025 As others have said on here, it is a real shame that Roy Keane does not tell him that his performances are no where nearPremier league standard and if truth be known they are not good enough for the championship either. 2
Tamesaint Posted 21 September, 2025 Posted 21 September, 2025 He never had a proper pre season and was rushed back into the team at the first opportunity. I am not sure if this explains his appalling performance yesterday but perhaps he needs time out of the team so he can do whatever he should have done in pre season. I do not want to see his name on the team sheet for the Boro match .

Not singling you out here but I've seen a number of people say many variants of this. Football is the one thing the players excel at (relative to the general population). They are coming off of a year where they were told every week, they are shit and don't deserve to be at the level many of them have dreamed of being at for their entire careers. For some of them, it will probably be their last time ever being at that level and they know it. It's easy to dismiss the psychological factor but you have never been in that environment. 1

Verbal Kint Posted 22 September, 2025 Posted 22 September, 2025 Both him and Stephens are completely incapable of dealing with any sort of physicality or balls in the air. Struggling with Kieffer Moore and McBurnie isn't straight forward I can accept, but they got bullied by Bishop as well who is 5ft 11 - what's the excuse there? It won't matter if we play a back 4 or a back 3 if they're in the team, as they aren't capable of doing the basics of defending. Even in our promotion team we conceded 60+ goals. Good teams are built on a strong spine, particular the CBs and GK, and we've got Bazunu, Stephens and THB filling those spots. Drop them all 2
Saint NL Posted 6 November, 2025 Posted 6 November, 2025 What's up with this guy? Last night he was misplacing passes all over the place, he looks a shadow of his former self. Does the club have a psychiatrist or something to try and find the cause? It doesn't look to be a physical issue but more of a mental one.

OldNick Posted January 30 Posted January 30 THB wanted by Everton, according to football insider, probably nonsense
Willo of Whiteley Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I can see him moving back up north in the summer.
die Mannyschaft Posted January 30 Posted January 30 WHU loan deal rejected so £100 to £350 plus a Cortina with MOT from the londeners and SR will accept. One talks and deals havd started players will be off. Their not getting to Prem with Saints that's for sure.
benjii Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Ropey first half of the season but he's been great for the last couple of months. Proper captain's performance today. 4
RedArmy Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago He’s always been better in a back 4. Back to his best for sure. 7
Tamesaint Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago He was injured against Everton at the end of last season. He would have been unavailable all summer and was probably brought back too early. He is now showing his true ability as he is up to match sharpness. 1

Didn't he have a nipper at the start of the season too - so maybe suffering with sleep?

Zorba Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Has the odd brain fart but definitely improving under Eckert.
AlexLaw76 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Looks back to normal when not asked to play right side of a back 3... But, formations do not matter, right? 4 1
