Pwoite Posted Wednesday at 13:49 Posted Wednesday at 13:49 Reading ,and being reminded, that Gareth Southgate was once on our books, I was wondering which other players we’d had on our books and then rejected, only for them to forge top level careers. Kevin Phillips and Danny Ings come to mind. Do I remember that Tyrone Mings had started with us? Who else? Are all clubs as good at throwing away talent, or is it something else we specialise in?
swannymere Posted Wednesday at 13:59 Posted Wednesday at 13:59 Very few good players have slipped the net compared to the ones we have developed over the years. It's hard to predict at that age who is going to develop and who's going to tread water. Dennis Wise is another who springs to mind. 1
Kenilworthy1959 Posted Wednesday at 14:10 Posted Wednesday at 14:10 Although wasn't Wise let go for disciplinary reasons?
Badger Posted Wednesday at 14:59 Posted Wednesday at 14:59 Paul Gascoigne had a trial at Saints but obviously not pursued by one party or another. Possibly both.
Wade Garrett Posted Wednesday at 15:04 Posted Wednesday at 15:04 Twats let me go. Went on to have a brilliant career in pub football. 1

SNSUN Posted Wednesday at 16:19 Posted Wednesday at 16:19 Finnish sensation Tim Sparv! I guess Musiala went on to have the best career of those that never played a game for us. 1 hour ago, Kingsland Codger said: Nathan Tella? Arsenal before us. 1 hour ago, Miltonaggro said: Danny Mountain Ah Mr Daniel Reginald Mountain. He went on to be a very talented actor. His role in "Smashed my Step-Sister right in the twat" was exemplary acting. 1
