The keeper was literally where every single keeper (apart from Baz) would have been. Stop with this “the keeper did well” , it’s as bad as the unstoppable shot nonsense we had previously. If anything the keeper went down a bit early, a competent finisher would have lifted it over his leg. It was an easy chance. Their keeper currently has statistically more "goals prevented" this season, than any keeper achieved last season - 14 games in 🤷♂️

He did actually yes but a/ my memory is f*#ked and b/ I was thinking more of the foot above the ground ones like Marian Pahars’ one against Everton (which I had also forgotten about until someone referenced it further up the thread)

This is the only statistic relevant to this thread “ points dropped by missing sitters”….Fucking four. 3
qwertyell Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Crap in every position. Lightweight, appalling touch. £9m that we didn't have, flushed down the drain by Spors. 1
washsaint Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Utterly pointless signing. Can't shoot, can't hold the ball up, generally just shit. They should have just kept Archer who is equally as poor but already here 2
Lord Duckhunter Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Mubama gets stick, but this bloke is just as bad. Went back to his old club and showed them what they’re missing….. fuck all. 2

Patrick Bateman Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Not sure what happened to him today, but he was ridiculously bad, like 2/10. He's been showing some good touches and good positioning in prior matches, today, nope, awful - should've been hauled off earlier. 1
Lord Duckhunter Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago The more I see this bloke, the more I’m convinced it was some sort of dodgy deal with Villa & THB. If he’s worth £9 mil my cocks a carrot 1 3

That said, Villa have paid and received a lot of questionable fees over recent windows. £37.5m for that Maatsen lad from Chelsea, and Kellyman to Chelsea for £19m were eyebrow raising. Rogers going to Chelsea for £120m, and paying £50m for Jackson, equally so.

Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Should've just kept Archer.... And actually played him and given him a decent run in the team. 1

saintant Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago He needs to be doing a lot better because he's yet to demonstrate why we paid good money for his services. I was expecting to see some stand out performances with him playing a major role for us but he's been a huge disappointment. Him and Fellows are both underwhelming and should be shining in games at this level. We need them to massively up their output because they should be two talents who we can rely on but right now they are both missing in action. 1

Remember they’ve probably been hit hardest by PSR given they’ve had years of European football and still got to sell to buy. I fully expect there are some manipulation of numbers to help with that. It still annoys me a lot that football these days is the biggest brand not the best performing clubs get rewarded. 1

Coincidence his best games have been against teams who have come out and played against us and his worst games against teams who’ve sat back and we’ve dominated possession? Today was made for Larin, QPR game was right for Dobbin. Unfortunately when one of them is injured we can’t adapt 2

Yeah there was definitely something fishy going on between Villa and Everton when they signed LD for £10m in 2024, with Tim Iroegbunam going the other way for a similar fee. Neither of them had shown any sign at that point that they were worth that amount, and both clubs were known to be at risk of PSR breaches so it was quite blatantly just an accounting trick to show large sales of home-grown talent. Lewis is yet to prove that he is worth the fee we paid for him, but the potential is there. I reckon he has a higher ceiling than Cam Archer, and we paid a lot more for him.
