He was an above average footballer who served the club well. It stops there. And that goes for most of the posters on this forum. They will only achieve poor or average status in their posts and will be nothing more in their lives. It is sad that most on here will not have any sort of a career, will earn a pittance in their jobs, be lousy parents and might as well not bother trying, judging by their posts. Me, I prefer to strive to be excellent at everything I do. I may fail at some, but I will be good at most and brilliant at some. But if someone told me that I might as well not bother just because I was good at something else, I'd stick my fingers in the air to them and do it anyway! I'm surprised that so many on here right off someone without even letting them try first. Wotte for example, I haven't written him off, I've sat back and watched from afar. I haven't judged him, but I do have an opinion, but that is more in regards to his comments in the press rather than his actions of his job. So, why should I write MLT off, before he's even thrown his hat into the ring, let alone managed 1 game. But I guess I'm not so narrow minded as some on here and am probably more worldly wise than most.

Window Cleaner Posted 17 February, 2009 Share Posted 17 February, 2009 Are they needed for league 1? The thought has clearly been in his mind, and I don't doubt he'll consider it again, if he isn't already. We haven't seen the last of his involvement, I just hope it's not a long wait. It's sad how scared people are that he'd "damage his reputation". Regardless of the fact you'd hope his time as a player couldn't be tainted by anything, since when was fear a good reason to avoid something that could work out very well? Glad no-one convinced Ted Bates of the same anyway. I think to coach any pro team you'd need at least UEFA A. Not the full pro licence but I don't think MLT has anything at all. Right so letys say Lowe brought in Le Tissier as his director of football - this would not unite the club, it'd really **** me right off that Gloucester pig farmer had taken my childhood hero and made him an ally. John Smith Posted 17 February, 2009 Share Posted 17 February, 2009 You must be a right laugh down the pub. Ah, you mean because I'm not a total waste of space. Then you're probably right. Equally, I rarely venture down the pub since I stopped going to games because I prefer to go to restaurants with my family and friends, than have a punch up in the city center. Or are you suggesting that because I am confident in my abilities, can hold an intelligent conversation and am not a total waste of space, that I don't qualify for being funny? To be fair, if you were in the same pub as me, I'm sure most would be laughing at anyway, so guess you're right in that instance. Anyway, enough of this verbal jousting. Truth is, I don't care what you think, so I'm off to the pub to drink a non-alcoholic beverage. But then alcohol is banned over here.

I have spoken to several ex players recently about it, and they have all admit they have got a nicey nice approach with the club conerning tickets, and hospitality. Have you noticed the ones that have come out have not said anything against the current board and have politley skipped passed the issues. It gives the impression that they don't care when push comes to shove. Im afraid your right there Trousers. Saints to be fair is just an other employer to these players and a chapter in their life, once gone many dont really care. Cunning plan - it could work! I can see the headlines... "Le Tiss saves The Saints.....again" After saesons out of the game being a pundit on SkySport Saturday afternoons, Matthew Le Tissier dug out his old boots and promised to save the side destined for Division 1 football next season in February 2009. Now in May with Saints now only needing a draw at Nottingham Forest in the last game of the season, Rupert Lowe has hailed this as a great day for Southampton Leisure Holdings. Lowe under some pressure after his "Dutch Experiment" failing, is still in charge at SMS despite taking the club into Admonisitraion earlier this year. "Le God" as he is now forever to be known has vowed never to get involved with politics again, after firing a broadside at Lowe and his cohorts. "It's time for someone else to save this great club. I've done for too many years on my own - the City deserves better!" The statue of Ted Bates outside St.Mary's will always be a tribute to Mr. Southampton, but surely Mr. Le Tissier is worth something more than a Suite in hospitality named ater him?
