I was looking forward to tomorrow

I have been working my nuts off this week. I've been in Wales, Northampton, Farnborough, the office, and at home, working 14-16 hour days because that's what's needed in the current economic climate. I have eaten crap (well Indian/Chinese and KFC) on the hoof because I have so much to do. This is my only post in days - finally I have two hours grace!

That's how it is. I don't want your sympathy. I've got a job and a business to run - I am bloody lucky. Bloody lucky and I never forget it.

One other thing I never forget is who pays my mortgage. And whatever I think about the people who do (and there are some good customers, really good ones as well as some less likeable ones) they never see me without a smile. Because above all I RESPECT their decisions and their choice to work with me/us.

But you know what, if you're going to BLAME me AGAIN for the woeful, inadequate performances on the pitch and question MY right to free speech you can take your football club and shove it where the sun don't shine.

Tomorrow afternoon, I have decided to re-turf my lawn.

Were you planning to join in with the march tomorrow?

What type of turf are you going for?

You could get Webster and Hockaday round to give you a hand. I hear they are getting pretty useful in the garden. ;)

If so many are not going to watch the match, perhaps we could all be invited to watch the Turfing of the Lawn?

If you did come, and paid, I would at least have the deceny to make a go of the turfing and if it went tits up, wouldn't blame you for it...

of course, if there was only one of you and you hadn't been shouting appropriate words of encouragement, perhaps I would blame you. Jog on!! ;)

So the net result of Wotte's comments would seem to be:

1. Fans like LG3C staying away.

2. Extra fans JOINING the protest (see the Echo messageboard below the story).

LOL at Wotte.

Funny that because I too, am no longer bothering going to the game and seriously considering joining the march.

i'm not looking forward to tomorrows game either. The thought of Saints fans turning on the club and each other fails to excite me.As soon as the RL chants start it is time to leave, not in support of him but just as it is not what my weekend relaxation is about.

May also say the fans who say that RL is stopping fans going the anti RL atmosphere and potential of aggro is also stopping fans from attending so the anti's are costing the club money in more ways than 1

Ironically, I suspect some fans are actually GOING to the game so that they can sing anti-Lowe songs... there has to be some entertainment at home ;)

The ones who are most uptight about the comments are upset already.I doubt that many of the fans who are ambliviant to the anti feeling care too much. They would also see the fact that a 16 year old boy running the campaign as a little comical.(not that Im against himand good luck to him) I recall a lot of my schoolfriends being Wolfie Smiths and wanting to change the world. It often makes me chuckle to see some of those same people driving gas guzzlers now and wasting energy without thinking as they drive to work and pay low rates to their employees..

So RL is not costing the club fans after all, well done Rupert and Wotte getting the fans to vote with their feet

I dont think he's a revolutionary. I think he is reflecting the opinion of 90% of Saints fans and showing some guts and leadership. Good luck to him... about time - instead of rolling over. Is Illingworth doing anything after his initial tirade or is he back in the Club box?

Nick - thank goodness that this chap has got up off his ar*e to do something positive (whether you agree with what he's doing or not).

A lot of people are idealistic in their teens and that's just as well because by the time most people get to be middle-aged their idealism has vanished.

Probably nothing of any note would have happened if it hadn't been this idealistic 16 yo. The middle-aged AWM would have moaned but done nothing.

Well is it positive if you dont agree?? im all for the marches if the protest is peaceful and the support like last time is carried on in the ground.

I dont know of many if any 16 year olds who have a grasp of what running a large business entails. He no doubt has a bit about him to do what he has done, but what is he expecting or promising if the march should all of a sudden make the CEO leave?

What do the marchers really think they are marching for? What alternative have they guarentees of?The LC soundbites sound good, the clubs shares are now at very low levels, his 2m surely could be added to to get to the £4m the club is now worth by the share price.Or is he also using the fans so he can get the power for nothing, similar to how IMO the Wilde bunch went about it. Many promises but no suibstance.MC LM and LC could now buy the club as the value has dropped dramatically, will they tell the matchers that the are going to do so?

If they did i may also join as at least they would at last be putting their money where their mouth is.

Dansak - magnificent.

Make your mind up:rolleyes: You wrote "I have eaten crap" and then write "Dansak - magnificent" ! Which was it?

As you re-turf your lawn (I hope it ****es down to water it in) I shall be watching a good game at SMS.

ps, don't work so hard. You won't live to enjoy retirement as much as I am!

I would leave it til the end of the season - by then we will probably be ground sharing with Eastleigh and there will probably be some premier grade turf going cheap in the SMS Clubshop - hardly trodden (especially on the flanks) too...!!! ;)

Well, while it tasted magnificent it probably hasn't done me any good!!

And enjoy your retirement, the reason I have to work so fecking hard is to pay for all you tax dodgers... ;)

(In truth I will probably end up going but I am buying a ticket right behind Wotte to give him what little I can afford of my marbles...)

Mate, I'm looking at a black hole in my pension the size of Calcutta - think yourself lucky you've got one - tax dodger ;)

On a serious note, wot a bunch of *********** they are, aren't they??

Tax you on the interest on money you saved from taxed income.

Tax you on dividends in a pension!!!! Money you invested from taxed income.

Tax you on the pension which is paid from money you were taxed on when you earned it...

Jees. And we though Rupert had some front!!!!

I asked my nipper if he wanted to go, as none of my mates can be bothered and he said he'd rather go swimming as Saints always lose.

I'll be taking the boy swimming. :(

That is the worst part of all, it's alienating the existing fans, and putting off new ones.

Instead of going to see Saints tomorrow i'm going to see Cov v Brum with some mates, should be a good competitive open game.
