Whoop for Wotte

Fair ****s to the man. To beat Cardiff, Preston and Ipswich is no mean feat, but he's got his tactics right and got us playing the right way. In fairness most of us are eating humble pie right now. Who the **** would have predicted this!!! Credit where its due.

Yep, fair play.

Nice to have a proper manager.

Credit it where its due but steady on fella, its 3 wins but a whole lot more is yet to be done before I will call Wotte a PROPER manager. I'm chuffed to fook but he has yet to fully win me over.

I'm a saints fan, I dont trust anyone.

Jeez, some people still can't enjoy the fact that we have won three in three. Tell me again, how long did it take Pearson to win 3 matches and how long have you been telling us that was a huge loss?

We do have some strange fans. You really do get the feeling some of them would have been happier if we had lost the last three games.

Go figure.....

I'm not quite sure what you're moaning about here to be honest.

Precisely

So Duncan, what did Leon tell you to tell us? That Wotte was despised in the dressing room?

Tell me, what do you (and your mate Leon) think of the job he has done so far?

I get the feeling you are disappointed he is doing so well.

Yep credit were it's due on the pitch. Pity about his comments about Saints fans. Long may he continue, but I'll never be heard singing his name at SMS.

About "some" Saints fans. You can hardly blame him for wanting the supporters to actually get behind him and the club can you?

So you want him to do a job for you, but you don't want to acknowledge him if he does it well. Never heard of the good old saying - credit where credit is due..?

Exactly, thats what I believe I said. You can't argue with three wins on the bounce, doesn't mean I don't think the blokes tw*t.

If you're reading this my Dutch friend, well done, keep doing it and keep your ill imformed mouth shut.

Jeez. Three wins in a row & we're STILL bottom three!

Shows how important it is to find the winning habit right now. Each point seems vital at the mo. Just look at Charlton & their continuing dire form to see how easy it is to be cut well adrift at the foot of the table. A lot of the teams down there with us are picking up points lately - which is bloody annoying - but I guess all we can do is win our own games. Can't ask for more than that.

Long may Wotte's run continue. He's doing something right - and for the first time in ages - it feels good to actually be a Saints fan!

Behind him??? So all the commments about his hair, being despised by the players, being "Dutch" etc. were actually expressions of support?

Oh, I see.

Go back over my posts friend, And if you see one post from me about his hair, or being despised I will write a cheque now for £100 to Children in need.

So just how long do you want him to keep it going for you before you will acknowledge him. Seems to me you want him to do the business - but you wont be acknowledging his achievements. Nothing like having your cake and eating it is there.

BTW - Did you ever consider that due to the language barrier or perhaps cultural differences that you may have taken, whatever remarks he made, out of context and perhaps grasped the wrong end of the stick?

I've acknowledged his achievements.

"Very well done Mr Wotte. Now just carry on and keep your trap shut and i'm sure we'll get on just fine".

There you go unambiguous

or the fact that his comments were AFTER the organiser of the protest was on back page of echo saying the protest was against silly decisions like appointing Wotte.

He was justified in answering back.

And as I said on here, my protest was not against Wotte;)

Fair play to him and fair play to the players, particularly those who have been frozen out who have shown a great deal of professionalism.

Just as it was right to give Poortvliet stick for not recognising our failings and to stubbornly (or stupidly) plough on, then we should be grateful that Wotte was big enough to accept big changes had to be made and to actually make them.

He will be judged at the end of the season, but in the meantime he gets the nod from me.

Interesting stance - you obviously don't do man management then. Your original post states that there is no way you will be singing his name at SMS - but in the same sentence calls for him to continue the winning ways.

It does indeed prove though - that fans are indeed very, very fickle...!!

P.S. I take it it's safe to say you're not enamoured with Rupert either then..???

Someone else had a great analogy about this mini revival and Lowe's part in it, :

You'll forgive me if I don't congratulate the man who set fire to my house if he throws a bucket of water in its general direction as he runs away...

If this continues it won't be very long until his name is chanted at the ground

Ummmm but Docker won't be joining the chants though....!!! Wonder if he will join in if the chants are for 'Wotte out'.....???? ;)

Lets not beat around the bush.

There have been hundreds of Saints fans who marched to SMS in protest about whats' going on with the club. I, personally agree with them, some don't, thats not the problem.

The problem is, for or against them, nobody can doubt they are passionate about Southampton FC, and that they are part of the core of what makes any community club tick.

And for someone in a position of power in that club to be so dismissive and disrespectful about people who will still be here long after they have gone maybe not unforgiveable, but you gotta do a damn site more than three wins on the bounce, however good that seems at the moment. I thinking Champions league, before I show him the respect he can't afford the fans.

Ahhh so you do do man management - those are some seriously tough targets to meet - I'm glad you're not my boss...!!!!

Looking at those facts - I take it you don't rate too many ex Saints managers either - given that we've never won the Champoins league. ;)

opinions but think you are hugely overreacting to well meaning comment.

If we beat Birmingham (maybe unlikely but didn't think we would all these three) wouldn't be surprised if most fans are cheering him.

They were. Only you, him and Lowe couldn't see it.

Really? Is that why on the 2nd march Connor and his ill advised chums displayed banners ridiculing the hire of Wotte and clearly wanting his head after 4 games? I assume Wotte can read and concluded that parts of the fan base were not fully behind the team.

Perhaps P you were a little sensitive the comments were directed at you.

There only one MARK WOTTE, one MARK WOTTE...go on practice singing I dare you or would you prefer Paul Hart?

He certainly wouldn't have been my choice, and I audibly groaned in disgust when I heard the news of his appointment as a replacement for JP. But results speak for themselves. He took a few games to get his feet under the table, and since then he has won 3 on the trot. Points cannot be denied. If we lose enough games to be relegated, then perhaps we were right all along, or perhaps it was too steep a hill to climb. But if Wotte manages this club to survival then who can argue against that..?

All I would say though is that nobody else, apart from the players who have responded, should bask in any reflected glory. If Saints survive, it will be no thanks to the Board, who have stumbled upon, rather than chosen the possible right man.

After the Sheffield United game I was adament that we were heading for League One.

However, three wins in three has made me think that we have given ourselves a fighting chance.

There is still ALOT of work to be done, but Wotte seems to be getting the players playing well and working for one another.

So far so good, but still a long way to go. Credit where it's due though.
