Begbies and Marc Jackson

have previously had dealings, as tonight's Echo reports that Gerald Krasner, the administrator called in by Bournemouth in March 2008 was working for Begbies and of course we all know the farce that ensued there. Wacko Jacko had more splits and breakdown in relationships in a month than most business men in a lifetime and yet it seems now Begbies, under Fry are/were quite happy for him to be involved in what now seems another time wasting, potentially fatal tyre kicking exercise.

I suppose Begbies have to listen to all offers or bids but you would have thought they would have treated Jackson with a bit more caution. This last minute hitch is ridiculous - either a bid was made (and we have been told by those who would know that it was) or it wasn't and someone is telling porkies.

Seeing Jackson's mug on the front page of tonight's Echo scares me to hell. The future of our football club seems to be partially in the hands of a serial Walter Mitty and he appears to be getting plenty of airtime thanks to Begbies.

I just don't think it's going to be any of the known bidders. A penny to a pound the unknown ( not necessarily unknown and could in fact be well known ) buyer will come out of the blue. I'm just applying logic, as all the takeovers that have affected me, none were known until after the event, although there were rumours but never the correct buyer.

To be fair Duncan if you had posted this earlier today I would have politely said lets wait and see. If Jackson is fronting a consortium of serious wealth and purpose I wouldn't mind if the Pompey Bellringer (whose name escapes me) was acting as go-between.

The problem now is if the other principal investor is the IT installer from 2001 I think we have a problem as you suggest. Now it's out it would be better if Jackson was up front and told us all who is behind him and how much they are bidding and have for subsequent investment. At the moment we can only hope there is other as yet unidentified investors behind the bid from Jackson and the alleged Stuart Green.

but were they takeovers of going concerns?

the problem now is that Fry needs to get the best deal for the creditors even if it is crap for the football club i.e British Gas want the land for a depot or something like that

I have a real hunch you are going to be proved absolutely spot on! I don't know anything at all and am not ITK, I just think (and hope) that's the way it' going to be.

Please let a positive deal happen soon!!!!

They should tell him where to go and have nothing to do with him.

So why have they not ? is it because for every Hour Fry 'works' on this its more in the coffers for him & Begbies ? has MJ proved genuine in this instance by way of funds ? if MJ s a herring is he on a kick back from Begbies/Fry, I see on Fry's portfolio one of his specialist fields is Printing ? maybe the relationship goes deeper ?

Yes, but they were big high profile companies and we knew we were being sold, we knew who was looking at the books etc but it was always someone else, who we knew nothing about.

While the two bidders play head tennis in the media, Fry can get on and quietly deal with the actual buyer. Just a thought.

Shoot me down,

I don't care,

Most of you are bald,

Whilst I have hair.

Ok, I have received another text saying that there will be an announcment Monday morning, Marc Jackson's bid has apparently been successful (which goes against what FF said and tbf FF is more reliable) and that Jackson has asked Le Tissier and his consortium to join his consortium and have a say on the goings on at the club.

You may now shoot the messenger.

this meaning the obscenely rich 'Le Tissier' consortium has been outbid by the desperate and indecently penniless Jacko consortium? Nah foak off.

Ouch!!!!!

Would be a good idea if we hadn't been through the Lowe/Wilde partnership and all the others as well in recent times. Might give us a bit more cash to play with but we could end up with another lot bickering amongst themselves as before.

Could work if there was even numbers on both sides of board and independent chairman.

Somehow, Jackson appears to be a stooge being used by Begbies or other parties to get bids moving, just as he messed things about down at Bournemouth. Like Duncan I've reservations seeing how Begbie's haven't been put off by Jackson's previous behavior. Not a pretty picture but I think no one other than Fry actually knows what's going on. It's early days and these things can and often gone on for months. I only hope somehow, somewhere that someone is prepared to foot the clubs operating overheads till someone is finally chosen and we don't end up receiving further points deductions.

Damn,Jackson has now blocked the ability to read his facebook status,i'm sure he would made another form of announcement just like all the other ones on his progress.:(

If someone makes a bid and it's accepted, then someone else makes a bid at the last minute, can the administrator change his mind?

It happened at AFCB (sort of). Originally when Jackson's/Sly's bid won, Jeff Mostyn had been announced the successful bidder, only for it to be recinded.

Of course Art, Begbies will be pleased Wacko Jacko is involved. They would hope his thrashing around would attract the bigger fish out of their deep hiding places. MJ is perfect groundbait.

I gather Dubai Phil (someone who has some gravitas) is also involved in this consortium and it would be interesting to hear his view.

I knew that last bit. He didn't seem terribly concerned.

Just said on SSN that 2 parties had gone through due diligence, now waiting for bids?

I am reliably informed that the consortium Wacko Jacko represents tabled a bid around the weekend of the Burnley match. Yesterday this hitch was them wriggling out of it "over a minor and easily resolved issue".

Got you. I am far to polite to accuse you of talking bull**** BUT

I would say that text is utter tosh and very much in line with what went on 2 years ago. Remember the night he and StDavid were quaffing brandy in on line celebration?

It'd be funny if these idiots did this to any other club, but as it's Saints it's not funny at all.

I expect the ITK's were all grovelling up to him at the forum match last night though as they're all as braindead.

Phil would know, the 2 jerks actually hung about with him for a while in Dubai.

It's a good thought and one which I hope is as close to the truth as possible. Begbies have been fooled once, I don't think that they'll be fooled again. Although, as previously stated, they do have to listen to all interested parties. What better a smokescreen than a prospective buyer who is known for failing (to the administrator) who is running around blabbing to all and sundry, despite having, presumably, signed an N.D.A.

Keep the press occupied while the real men do the business?

I sincerely hope so.
