What do you think of the official Saints Aid song?

Nice anthem! I was expecting it to be **** but I could imagine people singing this at SMS next season (we'll be there, I'm sure... :))

"we all need these colours,

we all bleed these colours,

when our hearts are on the line,

we cry tears of red and white"

Make a good chant IMO, and a unique one for once.

Like that. Great effort fellas. Would make a nice change to have a few Saints related songs in the few minutes before kick off rather than the usual drivel

I'd have that along with a decent version of O' When The Saints and chuck in the The Bells of St Marys as well

Agree. But then I was quite impressed by Mull of Kintyre at Forest...not sure I should have admitted that....

I was very impressed with Mull of Kintyre at Forest too.

Sung with such passion and pride.

I would love for this to become a chant.

I wouldn't. What has an Irish song got to do with Notts Forest or us?

I did think that when they sung "you've lost that loving feeling" when they equalised/went ahead was good though.

It is not Irish, but how many English people do you see with the silly Guiness hats on, on St Paddys Day. Whats it got to do with England? It is not meant to be a candidate for Eurovision, a Brit Award, an Ivor Novello Award or a Mercury Music prize. It is a rallying call for all Saints supporters and I think that it works.

I take it you haven't heard James Brown's version of "Oh When the Saints" from his 1974 album "Hell".

Click the link and press the little play button (top right).

THIS is THE tune that our players should walk out to.

Stirring stuff - how do we buy it?

One thing, though - have these guys ever really BEEN to SMS? Singing in the Chapel end? Really??

Just kidding. Well done, lads.

Hehe...good spot! I was having a chat with the lead singer (Paul Eastham) earlier and I did say he would get some flack for the 'Chapel End' line! He said that he tried recording a version with 'Northam End' but it didn't trip off the tongue as well as 'Chapel End'...so put it down to artistic licence!

Cheers!

Christ, that sounds like something from a dodgy 70's porno. I'd imagine there'd be a stunned silence followed by fits of laughter from the away following.

Not the uplifting version I had in mind!!

If you'd bothered to follow the thread you'd know i was talking about Mull of Kintyre, not the Irish sounding Saints Aid song. As i said before it's a good effort if you like that sort of jingle but not my thing.

It's quite good, although I don't get the main lyric of....

" When I need a friend, I go down to Chapel End "

.... there's not many people down there in recent years and to be honest, if I was looking for a friend, I would go to the Northam End, friendfinders.co.uk or West Quay.

Mull of Kintyre is in Scotland, although the song is ,of course, written by an Englishman. "You`ve Lost That Loving Feeling" is American.

Well if it's Scottish (or Scotch as i like to call them to my Scottish neighbour who gets wound up easily) then that makes it even more of a no no.
