ladysaint Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 I really dont know what I would do with my time and the money I save by not going to the football. I am bored already and cant wait for the fixtures to begin again. What would everyone else do?

I am bored already and cant wait for the fixtures to begin again. What would everyone else do? It depends, as long as this forum keeps running I don't think it will make much difference Most of my life is taken up reading the drivel on here, going to a game is a brief, welcome distraction. rocknrollman no2 Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 I would still meet up with my mates, but instead of making it a football day,we would just make it more of a social occasion. Would miss all the talking, banter and singing about Saints though.

South City Si Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 I'm sure there will some kind of SOuthampton team, in some guise or other. If not, Eastleigh FC!

Thats exactly how i feel Ladysaint. Its ok to go to a pub with your mates, but nothing beats the atmosphere of a good Saints game. And anyway,i would miss shouting abuse at the ref. saints triumph Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 I stated to my mates 3 months ago that in the event there was no SOUTHAMPTON FC I could not support another english team. That being the case I could choose any team I wanted regardless of where I live, much like your plastic mancs. Therefore I chose to support F C Barcelona. What a good decision that has turned out to be. One thing different to those plastics mancs I mentioned is, I will go to watch at least 1 game a season. Sun sea and sangria. But I truely believe that there will be a SOUTHAMPTON FC next year so all the above is hyperfecticle or how ever that is spelt. SO COME ON fry SORT THIS BLOODY MESS OUT please. saint lard Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 Make more of an effort to see London Wasps more often as i would be able to afford it more comfortably. Also get my football fix from Gosport Borough FC,i use the term football vey loosely.
CLOTH EARS Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 You could all come and support AFC Totton!!! We are the mighty Stags!!!
Paul Chuckle Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 I just couldn't be bothered to go and support AFC Soton in Wessex league. Call me a glory fan but I just couldn't get behind that. It just wouldn't be Southampton. I would just watch football as a neutral and support nobody.
so22saint Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 I was thinking about this as well - if I was going to watch a lower league team, I should really go and watch Winchester otherwise I'm just a glory hunter...

THINWHITEDUKE Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 Oh well looks like another season of playing vets football, I was really hoping to pack it all in this season and watch us scrap our way out of this mess. Bring on league one!!! COYR
scotty Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 If we do disappear in a puff of smoke, I'll support Stoke. they already have half our players, they wear red and white, and I lived there for three happy years (despite the freezing weather)
Dr Who? Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 I live just outside Cambridge and have bought a season ticket for next season. Me, my wife, and two kids. Works out £8.00 per game for adults. 0.33 per game for the two kids For all of us to go as a family it will cost about £350 plus travel for all home games for the season!! It would cost me more than that in petrol (£1500) let alone the season ticket to go on my own to home games. Still will not be Saints though!! Andy_Porter Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 There will always be some sort of Southampton to support. Even if it's starting from the very bottom rung of the footballer ladder they'd still be wearing red and white while being based in Southampton which is enough for me. Not sure I could go down the Eastliegh/Totton route just wouldn't be the same. Certainly couldn't go and support another league side that would just seem wrong. If we do get wound up and there isn't another Southampton to support in some form I'd probably lose my love for the game and probably turn to alcoholism, just doesn't bare thinking about. landford.saint Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 Hypothetically speaking it would have to be 'The Whites' (Salisbury) .... but in one form or other there will be a Southampton in some league next year... So my support of the red and white will continue.
gonzo Posted 28 May, 2009 Share Posted 28 May, 2009 If there was no SFC, I would just go and watch the local non-league teams. Winchester, Basingstoke and Andover. Wouldn't be the same though, obviously! I already go to Basingstoke now and again anyway. I love the fact that not only do the teams change ends at half-time, the supporters do as well. Nearly p155ed myself laughing the first time.
