Why would they not have the poppy come November? The Legion are absolutely in bed with the Premier League and there is full-on poppy mania every year without fail. I'm not sure why you are "imagining" things that absolutely won't happen. Dry your bed sheets mate.
  2. yes I was getting to that - fat fingers on new forum...!
  3. I can't see any genuine big club going on for him - he'd cost too much for his age and I think all those clubs would look elsewhere as more exciting global talent. The only clubs that I think would be in for him are those desperate to spend/show intent/make an impact. And who major global talent doesn't want to sign for. And those clubs are a) Everton - but a former Liverpool player who is still thought highly of by their fans? Feels unlikely. OR b) Newcastle powered by crazy Arab money. Would be a perfect signing from their perspective. If they offered him and us absolutely mental money maybe that might happen but like others I think he's done the big club thing and maybe he'd quite like to be a legend for us instead.
  4. Still believe that Adams will come good. Would be disappointed if he goes because he feels like he has a role to play.
  5. Only one hoof that Vestergaard misreads away from an equaliser.
  6. This feels already like a better performance than against Norwich (who were just abysmal). Team working very hard all over the pitch.
  7. Quite. I think I was being too subtle.
  8. Personally I think we are going to miss Hojberg and his ability to put defences under pressure and create dangerous situations.

What a load of absolute shit.
  10. We are safe mate. We've been safe since before lockdown when needed about four points from nine games. The idea that anyone needs to whittle and worry about Villa or West Ham winning the odd game is absolutely bizarre. Especially when the relegation scenario involves huge upturns in form for multiple teams while simultaneously believing that Saints will simply lose eight games in a row. Put it this way - if it was Saints in 19th with 27 points with 7 games left would they have the same belief that we would escape in the way they fear that Villa will do? Of course they wouldn't.
  11. Good news for who?
  12. If there are "plenty of suitors" then we would be able to sell for the fee we need and they'd take his contract and salary on. Job done. But there isn't. Just clubs who could do a deal on loan while we have to cover some of his contract. This is because other clubs aren't mental and/or don't have Premier League budgets. We've lumbered ourselves, as plenty of Premier League clubs do with players that don't work out.
  13. Who are the five lads from our "halcyon days under Koeman"?
  14. The German car manufacturers have finally got to Merkel, and it seems now she is being forced to concede to everything the UK is asking for. Tough times for Angela. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/26/angela-merkel-uk-must-live-with-consequences-of-weaker-ties-to-eu-brexit?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Create_note
  15. Played a pivotal role in both the first goal and Jack Stephens sending off. Clap clap clap. Our scouting may not be what it once was but I really think we can easily sign someone as spectacularly average as Hojberg for next season.
  16. 4 more points would just mean we are even more safe than we already are now.
  17. There's been nonsense like that all day. Shite about how desperate Man City would be to win tonight on Five Live earlier etc etc. Really? Like the scenario that Liverpool would subsequently go on to suffer seven consecutive defeats is anything remotely plausible. At least they've won it now so we can get on with the rest of our lives.
  18. Will be nice to have Heisingberg back, though.
  19. Kier Starmer taking absolutely no shit whatsoever. Decisive discipline in the party at last.
  20. What I don't understand is why don't we just stop buying rubbish players and from now on only buy good ones.
  21. Led, staffed and written almost entirely by people who have recently been at The Times/Daily Mail/BBC/Guardian/etc.
  22. Okay I've worked out that there is an "unread content" function. Only took me a week. 👌

    Coronavirus

We can all get a bit closer to each other from July 4th. This is an absolute boom time for companies that produce shop floor signage, floor stickers and other communication materials. Just as they've finished counting the money on the 2m signage they'll get some nice new fat orders for 1m signs to replace them.
  24. If we had the best fixture to start with, Burnley had the worst, especially considering that City already had a game under their belts.
  25. I've never quite understood their business model, being that their target was only to achieve 100,000 subscribers in the UK in year one. At £3 a month or whatever that's not much revenue for an the journalists they've hoovered up and are paying to provide content on an ad-free platform. I thought they had some big picture masterplan I was missing but their financial troubles in the US suggest maybe not. For now, they've got good journalists and I like the "Football Cliches" podcast too.
