  1. Lowe could have sold Lallana but gave him a long term contract instead. Have absolutely no idea how much earlier Alex O-C could have been sold. He was sold at the earliest possible/realistic opportunity. I struggle to think of any player sold for a big fee by Lowe that didn't push for the move themselves. Maybe Kevin Davies but that was mental money and the right call. Lowe debates. You cannae beat em....!
  2. Intentionally not spending to create surplus money sounds like, err, precisely what Rupert Lowe did do. And, second err, its not surplus money that gets you to the Europa League. It's players.
  3. And twice as funny is you think people are really that bothered in the great scheme of things. It's a football kit mush. It's not important. Not sure why you think you have the monopoly on saying that. And almost as funny as some freak on a web forum trying to get me to answer some questions. Can you get through the day if I don't? Tell you what, I'll concede that you are definitely the winner. Well done.
  4. What questions were these then? Apologies for not hanging on your every word. I am not doubting your Asda experience petal. I used to work in a virgin megastore. And a greengrocers. Go me. Just not sure why comparing/assessing old kits is far game but people saying our new on is shi te gets you jolly awfully upset. If it is all so unimportant why do you care about what others think?
  5. Gut feel says, in this instance, he would be mad to go. Even if he is good as everyone says (I have no idea) that probably only means he's going to get 15-20 appearances for us, in the Prem. Which probably equates to three or four cup run outs for Chelsea were he to go there. He is better off at Saints but don't count on it. We've got dough but I doubt we're about to start paying 17 year olds thirty grand a week. Especially one with basically no first class football in the bank.
  6. Basically for you it is fine to grizzle about our old/traditional kit (wah wah we used to look like someone who works at Asda) but not our new kit. Nice to see how your "perspective" filter works. And you clearly don't understand football culture at all if you think the only relationship fans have with our strip is the purchasing and wearing of replica kits. You do realise the team are actually going to wear this kit on match days don't you? This isn't London fashion week with the club bringing out a new clothing line.
  7. I think I've had about three infractions ever. Two were about circumventing the f u ck i ng swear filter. I think I have only ever had one for being a sarcastic sneering git. Which is probably surprising to some. And can I take this opportunity to say I do find Bearsy quite funny. I'll let you know if I get infracted for this post.
  8. Pretty sure the official number from yesterday was 3,000 shirts sold. And when I say official number I mean number made up by some spanner on the other kit thread yesterday afternoon.
  9. I don't really care how many people buy it to be quite honest and you are off your tits if you thought for a moment people wouldn't buy the new Premier League Saints kit. You'll be saying we'll sell out our first home league game due to the new kit next. I am chilled out but i will mock people who have suddenly decided they hate the fact we wear red and white stripes because Stoke do. If someone had started a thread to that end the day after the Coventry match they would have got laughed out of town.
  10. Seems that our classic strip is a big deal to some people. We've spent most of the last half century looking like people behind the deli counter in Asda apparently. If that's not "whinging fans" I don't know what is.
  11. There is no such choice whatsoever.
  12. Just how long have you hated the fact we wear red and white stripes? Until this week I have never heard in real life (or even read on a forum and I've been on them for a decade now) anyone complaining that our kit being similar to Stoke was a massive problem. Never. I don't remember anyone now sneering at stripes complaining last year either - please put me right if you did. But I bet you didn't. Now, apparently our similarity to Stoke was a major issue to some people. Its all a bit odd. I expect uproar from these people if we are back in stripes next season.
  13. How many were "annoyed" or "damned" over last season's kit? Somewhere between not many and hardly any I'd say.
  14. Now you've posted that I am amazed at how clearly you can see all those stripes on the kits on the hangers. They're like barber's poles with sleeves.
  15. Nice to see Bart Simpson is a Saints fan, although Homer didn't bother with the shorts - at those prices, don't blame him....
  16. Also I am sure we have worn red shorts on the odd occasion at away grounds but I don't think we have ever had red shorts as part of our "official" kit.
  17. If you people think that on TV or on Radio Five we're going to be described as "red with white and grey pinstripes which you can clearly see close up" shirts then you're fu ck ing mental. Forest and Liverpool and others did not wear stripes when they had a similar kit. Sweden didn't play in yellow and blue stripes in Euro 2012. Pinstripe is just trim. We're in red next season. Like it or not.
  18. Statistics not your strong point then, unless you seriously think the 3,000 that turned up today turned up entirely because of the design, and not because it is a new Saints kit and not because it is a Premier League Saints kit. There's people on this thread that said they don't like it but will buy it. Also, lots of people who (like me) even if they thought it was the greatest kit ever made would not even dream of buying one. The majority of fans - in fact all fans - will get over it. But lots will think it is terrible, and that's fine.
  19. Yes it is.
  20. And you're not of course. Rank Xerox kit obviously striped. There you go. A point for you. Not sure why i need to spell it out.
  21. Behave yourself. Nice try though.
  22. Whoops. I did forget the sash one I was thinking about the eighties too much. The pony one was obviously red and white stripes as were the wide striped ones from the eighties and in the lowe era. Oh well. Whats done is done. Not entirely sure the people sneering at stripes as being old fashioned, boring and not moving with the times are going to react next season when we're back in stripes again. I wonder if they'll boycott?
  23. Just out of interest, which kits are you including in these thirteen years? All I can think of is the white shoulders Man U style kit, which was what 2 seasons. And the Hummel Denmark one which did have stripes. That was two seasons. So I make that four. Where are these other nine seasons when we didn't wear red and white stripes?
  24. Well yes. We should have. But maybe there is some consolation that we will be the only team in world football in an all red kit. Go us.
  25. Nah. It's definitely the people in that queue.
