Temporary shirt? Do we get a different one in September then? I'm not emotional about it. It's rubbish that's all.
-
This is the kit Markus demanded on his death bed. I think it is utterly fu cking **** and easily the worst kit in my lifetime.
-
If you're being so general, why cherry pick Oxlade-Chamberlain? Lots of people in general said Sunderland overpaid for Connor Wickam. Why not use that example?
-
...and this is a keeper not an attacker and we've just got promoted and we're not in the CL and...oh. Lots of difference then, as you say. So not relevent. Well done though.
-
I think we've already done overspending on this thread. This isn't UK Gold.
-
Not really, apart from the fact you are overplaying the AOC reaction on this forum. I can't remember much critique of Arsenal's spending policy, just lots of stuff about AOC being better off playing lots of NPC games for us rather than signing for Arsenal, an entirely different point. Bur make stuff up if you like.
-
Someone has already made this point on this thread. It was irrelevent that time as well. We are not Arsenal.
-
Yes. And I have the knowledge that six million for a teenage keeper is a hell of a lot of money for a club our size in our first season back. I've not seen him play but it doesn't matter as you'll notice I am not even saying he isn't worth six million. I'm saying I am uncomfortable with us spending that kind of money on that kind of player. Understand now?
-
I really don't care what you think.
-
Well no. Six million for Man City is not overspending, they have the backing and CL income too. For Yeovil fifty grand might just be. And so on back to us.
-
No. Would be fine for them. They have money and squad and its not their first season back. My point is I don't think we should be spending that much on a kid. Anyway, it will be something like two mil up front I guess which is fine for us.
-
Arsenal have more money than we do. If we start spending on potential like Arsenal do then we are overspending on potential because we are not Arsenal.
-
No. And we haven't been in the CL every season for 15 years. Try harder.
-
Don't care. Football forum. I give opinions. Six million is a lot of money for a teenage keeper full stop. Don't need to have seen him play to give that opinion. Say If we offered fifteen million for a sixteen year old winger - overspending, don't need to have seen him play. As I have already said I doubt it is six million in reality, probably seriously staggered. Which would be fine.
-
And they rate Ruddy more too. We could lob six mil at Norwich and they'd sell. (Not saying we should do that but my point is six million is tons for a keeper) Lets see what happens but seems like over spending to me. *and yes, MLG, I know he's just signed a new contract. P i ss off.
-
Six million for a teenage keeper with only L2 experience is simple lunacy. That said, I am guessing it's probably something two million up front and only six if we stay up and he gets 10 caps for England. Chances are we are negotiating the payment plan, Brum probably leaking the refusal to make them look strong. Either way I am not sure we should be spending that on potential in our first season back up.

I've calmed down. I save all my name calling for my favourite wally. Adam is currently a mini Saints legend and he has a lovely chance to shine next season. If he gets a mini montage on MOTD one week he's doing well. But in his position he is way back in the queue for England duty. And quite frankly I think that is the last thing he needs to worry about this season. Get out there and show em Adam.

I've got a bit of a cold at the moment.

Holt is a very good example because we are actually quite short on strikers and he still couldn't get in. Butland is a complete outlier and irrelevent to this discussion completely. My original point is basically Lallana is playing a position with boat loads of competition and is going to have to play out of his skin to be considered. I stick by it and I don't need you asking pointless questions about nothing. PS - you are a complete bell end.
-
Tell you what. Don't misquote me. Being given the "really mature" comment from an autistic freakshow really is never, ever going to bother me. Go away.
-
Agree with this, nice to debate with a normal human being. My comment about Lallana is that he is going to have to be on fire. This is attacking midfield we are talking about and during the Euros there were players on the bench and players on the beach already established in the Premier League that will feel they could be in with a shout in the next squad. He's going to have to score a lot of goals, or score some amazing goals, or break some assist records to really gather some momentum to get anywhere near the squad.
-
So what? We're talking about attacking midfielders. Rob Green doesn't go against my theory at all being that he was first choice keeper at the last fu cking world cup.
-
You so adore being a pedantic arseflap so here's some back. You do understand what the phrase "YOU ARE THE ONE THAT SAID" means and what the phrase "I DIDN'T SAY YOU DID MENTION" means and how those two phrases are opposite to each other? Yes?
-
How on earth am I contradicting myself? Holt scored a decent return of goals but got nowhere near the England squad. Maybe if he'd scored 25 or 30 he would have finally got the call up instead of Carroll who got three or four or whatever it was or Defoe who got slightly more but not many. That is my point. Players from Norwich or Saints have to massively over deliver to get picked for England. That's how it goes. That's my point. True for Holt, true for Lallana. That's my point. No contradiction whatsover. You are a fuc kin g nutjob.
-
...and Holt scored more than Defoe and Carroll, both went to the Euros. Funny how life isn't like a computer game, isn't it.
