heard an interesting snippet of information from somebody in the media..... the senior players arranged a 'secret' meeting between themselves to discuss various things but JP got to here about it and spoke to a few of them which resulted in JP and wotton having a slanging match. personally i think this will all come to a head after the reading game and some big changes will be made regardless of the result.watch this space.

Would you BOYCOTT? Ways to get rid of Lowe and the board
lordswoodsaints replied to Wes Tender's topic in The Saints
i think the boycotting the second half is a good idea.manu would be the ideal game to do it but it wont happen.the impact would mean more as its a full house.to have a full stadium and then every saints fan leaves at half time would go a long way on the tv. -
heard he is on about 6k a week,if we cant afford to pay a player 6k a week then perhaps we are in more financial trouble than we thought......unless he is going for other reasons.

tbh all of the major shareholders will be circling like vultures if and when we go into admin, but they wont be the only ones......do we really want any of the big 3 involved again? i would prefer none of them to have anything to do with the club as they have all been sh1te imo.we need a clean sweep and some decent money otherwise we wont be any better off.

i know beth very well and when i see her next i will try and get her side of the story.

So now Lowe says we couldn't afford Pearson!!!!!!!!
lordswoodsaints replied to um pahars's topic in The Saints
try telling that to leeds! it is well known that i wasnt a fan of pearson but thats not to say i wouldnt have backed him if he was given the job.i didnt rate him as i know for sure that more experienced managers were either interviewed or were being considered.the players are obviously going to prefer jan as they are getting a game, something which would probably have not happened under pearson. we will never know what would have happened if pearson was still here but it wouldnt take a lot to improve on our current situation. -
same here,i think we have all crossed swords at some point, but at the end of the day we are all saints fans and everybody is entitled to a viewpoint even if we dont always agree with it.i hope that i havnt offended anybody too much and i also hope that we can all once again enjoy the good times. merry christmas to you all,i hope 2009 is a happy year.

i dont pretend to know the ins and outs of the process of loaning a player from another club but i expect there are people on here who do know. it doesnt make sense that we should be paying good money to the parent club of the loan players that have not featured at all or have had 'bit part' appearances like forecast or pekhart etc etc if we dont play them? are we 100% sure that we are not being paid to take hese players on? i can understand us covering their wages or part wages but to pay for the privelage of having them and not playing them seems ridiculous. surely before the deal goes through, the management team/directors have some idea of what they are taking on? they must have been watched or videos must have been viewed? i understand that some players are more successful than others but to not even play a player after paying out good money is a waste. perhaps we are being paid a fee to take them on,just to get them off of the wage bill of the parent club, perhaps there are other factors which trigger us to take a player on for nothing, like the first refusal on one of our players in the transfer window etc. i cannot for the life of me see the advantages for us taking a player on,paying precious money and not getting a return. perhaps somebody could explain the stupidity, because im just not seeing it!

i believe you mate....was the parting of ways amicable?,because there are people on here who would have you believe that pearson and lowe were at each others throats and that pearson was struck dumb by the decision?

So, we've actually lost Stern John for the season too..
lordswoodsaints replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
i could be wrong, but im sure i heard JP say that stern was on loan for the whole season when he met the fans at the osbourne???? -
its a bit unbelievable that the youngsters have only been taught one way to play? and frankly i dont believe it.most youngsters play in a traditional 4-4-2 formation from an early age so why has the academy all of a sudden in the last few years started to play/train differently? it just doesnt sit right im afraid. southampton have always played a traditional 4-4-2 apart from the odd occasion, the youngsters have been here a lot longer than the dutch duo so to say they have been brought up to play the jp way is ******.

im not trying to rewrite history as i dont know what went on between lowe and pearson,im just trying to throw a different perspective into the mix. perhaps the shackles were too tight for pearson and he had other options that were a lot less claustrophobic, but if you say he was sacked then that is fine by me.

too true, the shareholders had an oppurtunity to register their feelings by not voting for lowe and didnt do it.even if it didnt look likely that lowe would be defeated it still would have sent a strong message to the fans and to lowe that he was not wanted, but now it looks as if lowe has more support than he truly has.a non vote is a wasted vote. to compare lowe with an african dictator is ridiculous, the shareholders had a choice and they chose not to vote, the people of zimbabwe didnt have a choice.....well they did but the alternative was death or torture, unless lowe did threaten that:-)

perhaps pearson didnt actually want the job once he found out what the terms were?

i thought that stern was gone for the season anyway? -
Perversely, has the financial turmoil kept us...
lordswoodsaints replied to 1965onwards's topic in The Saints
imo the banks have always been corrupt money making machines that will trample all over the small man to gain their wealth.the financial turmoil currently being felt is only being felt by the customers of the banks, you can bet your life that the banks themselves will never lose out,in fact they are probably raking it in through the misery that they have caused so as SFC is just a small customer compared to many, then they will be treated just the same as all of the other customers. -
those who chose not to vote might has well have voted for him.
-
in repertoire, does he still live down here? perhaps he is the man to step into JP's shoes:-)
-
has any of it made the slightest bit of difference?.......................no. a million people could rant and rave until they are blue in the face and lowe will not listen, there is nobody with the dosh who wants to buy lowe out and if lowe does not want to sell then we will just go on as we are. well done to the people who were there, those for shouting against the system and those who reported it (apart from chorly and the russian taxi driver).

what are the ground rules on this these days? surely if it is an offence for an away fan to be in with the home fans then the stewards have a duty to act. dont get me wrong i have been in with the home fans on numerous occasions, but i have usually kept a low profile.somebody blatantly not giving a flying fvck about being in with the home fans should surely be escorted out of the ground for the safety of himself and the home fans.

wasnt shilton captain during one of our most successful periods?
-
is JP laying down a challenge to lowe with his 'im not a quitter' speech? perhaps he has ralised he is out of his depth and is inviting lowe to sack him rather than walking away without a dime. lets face it,this is probably the highest paid job he has ever had and he probably doesnt want to give it up without a fight.
-
will you grass any mancs/plastic mancs sat near you to the stewards/ob? :-) tbh i will probably give them the oppurtunity to leave under their own steam before i point them out:-)
-
i suspect he is a mixture of the both tbh. i wanted to give him a bit of time because he seems a good bloke and i have enjoyed watching the youngsters pass the ball around but i havnt enjoyed the results and i dont agree with him sticking with mcgoldrick, the apparant lack of tactical awareness and the lack of fight in the players. i have said in the past that i was willing to give him a go and judge him at christmas and im afraid that things dont seem to be getting any better so perhaps it is time for a change.i also know that not all of our problems are down to the manager but i think we need somebody to inject a bit of belief in the players in the same way as redknapp has done with spurs. i dont think it will happen as i think we are commited for the long term but i could be wrong.........hopefully.
