  1. Edit; . not needed now .
  2. WTF? How did that happen?
  3. If they bugger off (fingers crossed), do we get a new bank holiday to celebrate?
  4. That's the problem now - if they vote 'no', then all of a sudden, they'll start up a new campaign for a new vote and all the while, Westminster will be bending over backwards to give them the world free, while the rets of us pay for it ...
  5. Hah! No, I have only been there once, when I first moved to the area - just remembered you were from here that's all! Agree with what you're saying as well. I now have no argument to come back with
  6. *sigh* Of course it's been that recent. 1. Because the media have suddenly jumped all over it so you need to know how to answer, if asked 2. Because the analysis has just been finalised, or even re-finalised just in case they weren't happy (and that has happened) 3. Tell you all too early and you forget what to say, so tell you nearer the time and you can answer I work at the other end, generally not last to know - Jaxx, let's chat (Okay I haven't been there since 2009 and at 38, it'd be weird, but it still amuses me)
  7. "Hull, non est gravius quam Portesmue" (according to Google Translate to Latin)
  8. hahaha, yes, the Tower existed when I was at uni there (94-98), was a dump! The best club was Spiders, not because of the music, but it was proper chilled out and the fact you could get cocktails full of all sorts of shots and crap for a quid. 4 of those and you were pretty much done. Probably illegal now, sigh. I think it may have been the Tower that did the rounds and bought going off beer and flogged it for 20p/pint. My memory is hazy ... Edit: Beverley is really nice VFTT! Lovely place. I resided in Cottingham, that's a nice part too!
  9. haha, Hull isn't *that* bad. I went to Uni there, it's not actually a terrible city and it's certainly no worse than Portsmouth or other places of that ilk in this country.
  10. That's what I thought. I used to like Birmingham, oddly, but I'd getting more and more impressed with Manchester. Birmingham for me has just become the Mailbox area and even then, that's looking dated now.
  11. Apologies for selectively quoting but, that's my entire point! All companies, especially the larger ones, will have groups of analysts running around like mad completing these business assessments for them. Companies such as Deloitte's, will be doing very well I'm sure out of placing 10 or so analysts and a couple of more senior bodies within companies to do this work. I'm not saying this without foundation of evidence and I do imagine there is a large element of guesswork, of course there will be. But I imagine one of many parameters would be "British customers" who would change provider (for whatever the service is) vs. Scottish customers. As they'll be looking after number 1 (well, shareholders and bonuses) and probably therefore don't overly care for nationalism, it's easy to guess what the outcomes will be. Very simplistic, but I know whithin my sphere of industry knowledge, that's happening to a very in depth detail and has been for a while, hence my original point to Michael. Saint Michael - let's discuss this in Jaxx ...
  12. Rubbish, do you not think there are analysts of various sort running around many companies, some behind schedule, trying to work out the impact of Scotland going it alone? There will have been presentations or 1-pagers given, which the guys at the top have needed to digest and then decide what to do with.
  13. Not, it's not weird at all. Maybe they've other things to do, like running their company/department etc. Maybe they've had months of meetings and studies, or they've waiting for analysis for a while, before being able to make their claims. Jesus, see the bigger f**king picture.
  14. Could you be more self-righteous?
  15. As said earlier, I favour Budapest, but a good point about the UK. London is obviously the best city by a long way, it really does have everything. But also I feel a big mention now to Manchester - that place has come on leaps and bounds, with some really interesting places to visit, good shopping (if you like that), some decent enough places to eat and bars. Definitely over taken Birmingham surely as the UK's second city?
  16. LOL, brilliant!
  17. Agree with what you're implying! Definitely agree.
  18. If London also wants independence (on London News just now - which I have to suffer even living in North Hampshire), then so do I. Who is to stop me, I vote 100% yes for MY independence. Where does it stop? Currency PB. 1 PB = £1m of your GBP. Bank of PB dictated the exchange rate, what can I do?
  19. Just listening to Miliband going on about equality. How the f**k is it equal that they get free higher education and free prescriptions? For f**ks sake. Vote yes, please do, off you all go.
  20. I'm interested to know what everyone's profile is now! I'm ENTJ (Myers-Briggs) - completed twice, officially, same result both time.
  21. Don't be so anal.
  22. Part of our history
  23. Why should we change the union flag?? Many countries still have the union flag in the corner of their own flag when strictly speaking, they aren't a park of the UK.
  24. Should put the containers back on a ship with all that sort boxed up in and let the ship sail to somewhere. An island would be good. How about a large island in the southern hemisphere?
  25. That was as tedious as the Guardian articles, but just with less big words ... But did he really do this? "Alex Salmond's offensive comparison of Scots voting for independence to the ending of apartheid and blacks being given the vote in South Africa took the rank dishonesty of the nationalists’ campaign to a new low yesterday."
