Pardew's likely reception next week?
Patrick Bateman replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Personally have no feeling towards Pardew, so will treat him as I would Wenger - anonymous. Various managers have come and gone that we've 'loved', i.e. Dave Jones and Pearson come immediately to mind; but the only ex-manager(s) I think I would still applaud are Strachan and Lawrie. The rest? Nah, not bothered. -
Agree. Pivotal in getting 2x promotions - he should be remembered in the same way as former Saints greats when he retires. Let's face it, I can see him finishing his career with us now - even if it means he steps down to a bit part and helps his replacements up their game.

No it wasn't. Chaplow was good in division 2 and helped us get to the top flight, but no one ever said "Chaplow is pure class and amazing and a future legend".

Presume you're being sarcastic? Or just a div.

That guy was supposed to be the next massive things, goals for fun in the under-teams etc etc etc.

The January 2013 HCDAJFU thread...
Patrick Bateman replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Paul Scholes. Okay, unrealistic, but I don't think there are going to be many players available for us - Dawson a possible, but unlikely. We'll get a couple of European league players no doubt - but it doesn't matter so long as they are; 1. Better than Fonte, Jos and Maya 2. Hard as f*ck and willing to get stuck in 3. Got a bit of experience -
Was in the Kingsland actually with my blanket and Thermos!

Could not believe the sheer amount of people leaving with 5 minutes to go, with a match at 1-1 and Saints chasing the winners. Weirdos!
-
No, think of it like this; 300 teams in the bottom three >> 159 of those teams have been relegated As a subset of the original 300 teams, there were 100 teams in the bottom spot, 50 of those teams were relegated. So statistically, if you are bottom, you are slightly more likely to stay up than if you were 18th or 19th. They are subsets of each other. It's a poor couple of stats to quote together really as they may not be perfect intersections of each other either. But you get the point.

To the tune of http://www.metrolyrics.com/21-seconds-lyrics-so-solid-crew.html There's 15 minutes to go Tell Nige to get Guly on, oh no Tell Nige to get Guly on, oh no

What does supporting Saints mean to you?
Patrick Bateman replied to bangkoksaint's topic in The Saints
Relegation fights from most of the 90s, which is why now, it washes over me - it's almost like normal service resumed. Having been born in 1976, we weren't a top 10 team for most of my lifetime! -
Christ on a bike. This forum ...

You need to lay off the Charlie for a bit, sunshine.

I've come to the conclusion that Les Reed is the weakest link at the club. Meddling.

Does anyone have an update on Ramirez fitness?
Patrick Bateman replied to Roger's topic in The Saints
SAINTSLIST?? Jesus! How and WHY are people still using that!? Bizarre, welcome to 1999. -
Burley AND Fowler both laying in to Saints; Di Ridder, Lee and Guly in particular. Suppose they BOTH have an agenda "against Saints" do they? *roll eyes*

5 Live far from nice about him, I quote; "Stood on the left all night and not done anything". Brilliant.

Football supporters in slagging off and then worshipping a player, shocker. "Oh no, Jerry f**king Edwards, couldn't score in a brothel" .... "YYYEEEESSSSS, ONE JERRY EDWARDS ... "

Fans relationship, are the club missing a trick.
Patrick Bateman replied to derry's topic in The Saints
What relationship? We're not "fans" anymore we're "returning customers" of which he'd like more of in order to improve the balance sheet ... -
I saw this in the Metro this morning and thought of the kit fanatics here ... Umbro have now been sold again ... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2222483/Nike-offloads-Umbro-brand-Iconix-140m-deal.html

Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks
Patrick Bateman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Agreed and for that reason, I am out! -
Yateley is a bit pants. I currently live in a village just outside Fleet. I love Fleet, good commuting to London, but it is pretty expensive still (for Hampshire). Farnborough (and Yateley) are a hell of a lot cheaper, but extremely dull, and probably not as nice as Fleet. I'm open to new areas. I was looking at places like Kettering (amazing connections to St Pancras in an hour) and laughing at the huge estates I can buy for £500k. But ... it's crap there.

You mean do a Saints? How many times in the 90s did we just scrape by after a blinding end to the season? Dellhurst park season anyone? 98/99 wasn't it? Plus the many before that in the 90s.
