  1. I couldn't care less if Milliband was electioneering, I would rather our politicians pander to the will of the British public that pander to the Yanks or the defence/oil industry. That is what democracy is all about, people vote for parties who share their point of view. You are naive if you think Cameron gives a monkeys about lives in Syria. The Tories stance is based on 1 - Keeping the USA happy and 2 - Arms contracts. If anything further happens in Syria it's the UN's responsibility, if there is clear evidence and a UN mandate I expect the British people will back action. Going in without this is daft as Iraq showed.
  2. Milliband will do well out of this, I think there is little public support for getting involved in another war. I have gained a little more faith in our democratic system after what has happened this week.
  3. What difference does that make? The war in Afganistan was to stop a Worldwide terrorist threat, we are still doing the dirty work, it makes no difference if it was not a UN mission.
  4. What a load of nonsense, 444 UK soldiers have died in Afganistan alone. Meaning in that war alone more UK servicemen have died than from India, Nigeria and Pakistan combined over the last 65 years. Like i said, more than our fair share by a mile.
  5. Well these other countries will never get their military up to scratch if we are forever doing their dirty work. When we act as the US's puppy dog for these things we not only waste our money and service people's lives we make ourselves a target for terrorism in the process. The us don't need our military anyway, it is tiny compared to theirs, they want us in for political reasons. As long as Israel seem to have some sort of hold over the US we should think very carefully before jumping in on their side.
  6. That's plenty. The US can handle this by themselves easily, even easier with 4 or 5 others helping. We can sit back and do sweet FA knowing that we have done way more than our fair share over the last decade. Maybe it's time for Germany, France or Spain to watch their sons come back in body bags.
  7. Plenty of countries have the capability. Anyway, if we use that as a reason we will be forever be the people doing the dirty work while richer, bigger countries just sit there and let us mugs get on with it.
  8. It won't impact us any more than any of the other 200 odd countries. Why are we so special that we feel the need to be the World's police?
  9. A do-nothing from Britain means absolutely f*ck-all, the US can still do it. There seems to be some mental block with British people about this. There are 195 countries in the World, that means excluding Syria obviously there are 194 choosing to "do nothing" why does us doing nothing mean anything? Just let someone else do it, it's nothing to do with us.
  10. A good read but fact is we are where we are because we are owned by billionaires. The Walcott the Bale money didn't stop us going bust and getting relegated twice so not exactly a blueprint for success there.
  11. I'm not one for leaving early for food or drink but i fail to see why people get annoyed by what other people choose to do. Very strange! Fact is for some people football is just a day out with their mates, god forbid they have fun and do what they want! I get the impression the people that get annoyed by their behaviour are the sad, lonely football geek types who go on their own and take the whole thing very seriously.
  12. Easy home game please, this is a comp we have a chance of winning.
  13. The thing is, though it appeared Assad's forces were in the ascendancy, unless you are on the ground it is impossible to say what was going on behind the scenes. Assad might have realised that there will be no end to the rebels funding and he is running out of allies. Or a rogue general made the call to use the gas, or there were some important people in that area he had to kill. We just do not know. I expect they will be able to tell by the type of munitions used and the position they were fired from who was responsible. I also expect agents on the ground already found out before the men with blue helmets turned up. Also, if it was the rebels it didn't make sense for Assad to delay the inspectors. He would have wanted them to go in straight away.
  14. France are already supplying the rebels with arms, as are other countries like Quatar so there will be plenty of communication with the West. Plus the proximity to Israel means there are bound to be agents on the ground. The idea that we are waiting for a few UN inspectors to get permission to go in until we find out what is going on is just bizarre.
  15. 1953 was the last time they averaged over 30,000. To put that into perspective Preston North End also averaged over 30,000 then as well.
  16. The problem is we don't KNOW we are being lied to. The US, UK and France have been itching to get rid of the Syrian regime for ages so it does make anything they say unbelievable but if Assad is gassing his own people then something needs to be done - and will be despite any conspiracy theories. I doubt what the UN inspectors will say will make much difference, they will just find a bunch of shells that had gas in. The US will already know who was responsible.
  17. Think it is A. I doubt there is enough money in it for Cortese to give a sh!te about. They could probably invest a bit and make a little bit more in return but it's all small change at the end of the day. I expect having a reasonable amount of rubbish food flogged to us mugs by incompetent fools is probably the most efficient way of making anything. It's a shame because for many it is part of the matchday experience and if you for out £40 for a ticket you should be catered for properly. I get the impression it's the same though process behind the shirt, programme and corporate hospo - do it as cheap as possible because the mugs will rock up and hand over their cash regardless.
  18. And there are plenty of other countries down there with more money than us. Love to spend millions on shiny new shopping malls and hotels, OK to blow billions on a football World Cup yet happy to sit there and watch their neighbours get gassed.
  19. It sounds like a complete cluster-f*ck of a situation and the UN need to sort it out, whoever was responsible for the chemical attack doesn't matter - something needs to be done. It's just not our problem though and not one single UK serviceman should be put in harms way. We are just a small skint island of the north of Europe - time to let another country be the World's police. I'm sick to death of this British attitude that seems to think the World's problems are ours. Vote for action, put diplomatic pressure on - then sit back and watch another country get their hands dirty for once.
  20. The programme looked OK but was riddled with errors. Bit of a lame attempt considering, apart from one friendly game they had since mid May to put it together.
  21. It's like being in the playground again with him and kraken, just put them on ignore.
  22. Getting rid of players like Puncheon is not going to help. JWP had a good game but Puncheon gave us something a bit different. Hopefully we will get a decent pacey wide player in.
  23. His English was fine at the player awards dinner, quite wise in speaking to the media in his native tongue .
  24. Agree, this place is has been ruined by the trolls. And they know who they are.
  25. What a load of nonsense, to have a chance of achieving anything you need strength in depth.
