  1. from the scunny telegraph: UPDATE: Jonathan Forte undergoing medical at Southampton Jonathan Forte is undergoing a medical this afternoon ahead of a shock proposed move to League One Southampton. Manager Ian Baraclough has confirmed former Iron boss Nigel Adkins has come in with a bid to take the 24-year-old front man down to St Mary's. "Nigel has always had great faith in Jonathan, who is out of contract this summer," said Baraclough. "It makes good business sense for us to have accepted this offer."
  2. This - as it is a bit of a sh*thole now.
  3. They can still have another 3 loans, as the maximum is 8 (4 under 23 yrs of age and 4 over). Five is the maximum for on the field activity! Yes, they are potentially in the sh*t if no more recruits come in by Monday as even Palarse are improving things and failing any relegation this season, next season as I mentioned earlier, could be the real struggle.
  4. already discussed
  5. So soon from making a mistake in the skate thread. You're slipping MLT!
  6. When I was at school, there was a european convention of youth and I was lucky enough to represent the school and go to Germany. It was interesting that over there they had two streams at school after the equivalent 'O' levels - vocational and academic so there was a clear direction to choose, none of this must go to Uni for everything. That was 20 odd years ago and it's still going, while the unions and Thatcher decimated the apprentice system and only now are there plans to fill the vocational stream void.
  7. jeez, so more players to leave at the end of the season. so potentially that's a new eleven: Halford (loan) Hogg (loan) De laet (loan) Sonko (loan) Dickinson (loan) Cifti Utaka Brown Hughes Nugent Kanu
  8. 13 Oracle of truth
  9. Of course... thanks! I had a dumb moment, just like Brad but not so costly.
  10. Surely it's the company that is liable not the indidual, in this case Brad Friedel?
  11. I think that was part of the 'Go Wilde' campaign. Nice idea (the fun day not the campaign).
  12. Especially as he is out of contract in the summer.
  13. Now there's one good reason to back up your sim! It would be nice to an alternative to the come dine with me events (which are a great idea) for non STH fans to attend. Perhaps it can be done coming up to the start of the season to get everyone out of the building and on the Saints bus.
  14. my guess: If 'product lable' means product label then much will depend on local law and trademarks for that country of what the label states.
  15. On face value, I'd agree however Villa cannot score atm, it's like a black cat has crossed their path! If he keeps them up it'll be worth it and Sunderland get a bigger wedge to compensate. Villa's players don't have relegation clauses to reduce their wages so going down could cost them a £60m+
  16. The payment plan might have changed but the amount owed is the same and not sure what happens to the final payment date - anyone know?. They may survive this season thanks to three worse teams, but next season will be interesting as Nugent and Utaka will no longer be contracted to the club, same with Brown and Hughes. There maybe a couple of others and with Dickinson, Sonko, Halford and De laet all loans they will be gone. Can Kanu keep going for another year or Hreidarsson? Their first team will look quite different next season: Team against Forest 01 Ashdown 03 Dickinson 05 De Laet 20 Ward 25 Sonko 04 Mokoena 07 Lawrence 08 Mullins 17 Utaka 10 Nugent 27 Kanu Substitutes 37 Flahavan, 06 Hreidarsson, 33 Rocha, 36 Kilbey Of course much will depend on the FL on how much the skates plead of having no squad but I'm sure there will still be financial restrictions in place rather than spend what they like. But to have around ten changes to the first team is one big handicap.
  17. Is that why the club have recalled Wotton... oh!
  18. latest piece from sky dated 17th Jan: Manset unruffled by rumours doesn't link us anymore. Not that rumours are accurate or anything! If true, I wonder where this leaves Doble... (out of the building/at the bus stop)?
  19. Thank goodness we have NA for the business end of the season. FFS.
  20. LD50s maybe aiming the bar too high for gastric irritations or other possible complications though! The TD50s would be the same, but it's all about moderation, afterall, water can kill you if you drink enough.
  21. But didn't the league results after the cup game show it wasn't the case. It was more to do with the tactics, bad referees (well the one at the tranmere game anyway) and playing catch up?
  22. Having one player out isn't so bad but the combination of Lallana and Chaplow is a bit of a worry. It's time the team showed it's quality and can cope without both, hopefully only for a few games. If it's long term for both, the loan market beckons. I don't mind winning games 1-0, the defence is sound and the team will carry on creating, we'll be in with a chance more often than not but with the second half of the season now underway, the team needs to up their game as i don't think Saints can lose as many as they have. Brighton have still only 3 defeats all season, we need to be as impressive as that if the title is the goal.
  23. Bugger, can't make either date! Hoping for another re-schedule of this match.
  24. So where are the gaps? If Punch and AOC stay, don't really see a problem as there seems to be a few youngsters that can step in for the odd game and if it's longer term then the loan market should suffice. Isn't Bournemouth's squad one of if not the smallest in the league and they are doing OK, just like last season. So I think the issue of picking up the three points is more than just a numbers game, thankfully we have Adkins who seems to know how to utilise the squad well.
