  1. This is it for me. Grateful for ML for saving us and establishing the framework for the club to succeed. KL trimmed back on expenditure (quite rightly - her prerogative) , however it seems to me the framework that built the club back up has been shelved for whatever reason or there was and still is a loss of focus. She wrote an open stating the club will be in good hands, it would have been better for her to stay silent on that matter, just like Gao himself.
  2. -1 For buying a manager’s player. The club not sacking the clown.
  3. They are all the same, unless you change to watch a different match.
  4. Maybe it’s all a ploy so that the club move to plan Z, Samir Nasri who is now a free agent.
  5. From an article it states according to European football clubs’ 2016-17 financial information, collated by the accountants Deloitte. 2016-17 revenue in £m (v 2015-16 revenue) 1) Manchester United 581.2 (515.3) 2) Real Madrid 579.7 (463. 3) Barcelona 557.1 (463. 4) Bayern Munich 505.1 (442.7) 5) Manchester City 453.5 (392.6) 6) Arsenal 419 (350.4) 7) PSG 417.8 (389.6) Chelsea 367.8 (334.6) 9) Liverpool 364.5 (302) 10) Juventus 348.6 (253.5) 11) Tottenham 305.6 (209.2) 12) Borussia Dortmund 285.8 (212.3) 13) Atlético Madrid 234.2 (171)~ 14) Leicester City 233 (128.7) 15) Internazionale 225.2 (134) 16) Schalke 197.8 (167.9) 17) West Ham 183.3 (143. 18) Southampton 182.3 (124.3) 19) Napoli 172.5 (107. 20) Everton 171.2 (121.5) If the big two Spanish sides decide to share the TV money more equally then it could change and the Bundesliga clubs will have a boost in income from next season.
  6. Time is up sticking with what he’s done so far.
  7. Who’s signing him? He hasn’t done much for Chelsea and who knows what he’ll be like here apart from being confused like most of the first team players.
  8. Totally agree. As it stands the most cohesive, well drilled team will likely win out against a side with more skillful players. IF MP continues to chop and change tactics and personal, we are more than likely going to stay where we are in the table and pot luck if we go down or stay up.
  9. Question is why... not enough money? the current hierarchy? Another club? He would certainly be my choice.
  10. number seven gets my vote...
  11. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/13/sports/soccer/premier-league-goalkeeper-stuart-taylor.html A summary of his long but brief GK career and a focus on his Saints activities.
  12. A few snores or a chorus of wake me up before you go-go. Left me sleeping In my seat. I was dreaming Of the shuffle and side-ways pass. Wake me up before you go go, Don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo. Wake me up before you go go, I don't want to miss it when you hit that pass.
  13. Time to get a bit of shooting practice in while the game birds are resting.
  14. He’s a decent supporting player but not a game changer sort of player and needs others to help bring the skills out that he has, where as Redmond runs about a lot.
  15. From the information Reed is quoted as saying in the article, there was some departure to this Southampton Way in bringing in Koeman and we are now as far away from it as we could possibly be.
  16. Les is vice chairman. Who is technical director? Is that Ross? I see Emenalo has resigned at Chelsea. A well liked and knowledgeable bloke.
  17. He’s beyond borrowed time. What does he need to do to get dropped?
  18. Depends if you are on the inside with more information at hand. What was insane was employing him in the first place especially with the squad of Big Sam style players.
  19. No, he wants you to lead the class action against the PL and UEFA with these unfair FFP rules. When you start to lead the boycott, the authorities are bound to notice and demand all clubs in a league gets the same amount to spend on players... just like it used to be (not).
  20. Team progression is what counts rather than money received or the call to spend it all. It's getting the right player in which isn't an exact science. It would be interesting to hear from some first teamers if this side show is a distraction or if it has been isolated enough from them. There is also VvD's mental aptitude to apply himself to the team's cause after the window is closed.
  21. He’s a good player with lots of potential so the sort of player Saints would be interested in, a ball playing CB with an aerial threat. Played well for Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga and Champions League. As OldNick states, there is no chance he’s coming here, especially if he’s starting to get game time in Chelsea’s first team.
  22. A combination of the two, hence why having a good manager is essential.
  23. I think you need to change your name to mystic meg! I remember when Blackpool and Hull first came up and did extremely well the first half of the season but then drifted down the table to a relegation dogfight. Huddersfield may survive as the team spirit and team tactics are in place but it will more than likely be a struggle.
  24. I'd say we have better players but not a better team at the moment. They are playing with confidence and the message from the manager is getting through on how he wants the team to play which hasn't changed from last season so they have an advantage in that respect. It will be a tricky game.
  25. It's sporting just clause, in FIFA rules. Never heard of a footballer take it on and difficult to prove. Schweinsteiger could have taken that route but didn't. Generally the standard length is 3 years as after that, players can buy (or the new club) out the remaining length to move on.
