  1. Peach was a great player way above average and Saints were lucky to keep hold of him late 70s at his peak, think Chelsea and Man Utd made enquiries. Statham too was earmarked as one of the best young players in England when at WBA, also Jimmy Case rated Statham as the best left back he played with during his entire career (MLT the only other Saints player in that 11. Thus, Simon Charlton is indeed the natural choice at LB for that defence. If someone does the most dogshit Saints side, Lee Todd is a shoe-in.
  2. Loved Jordan as a player at Leeds and Man U, but when he joined us from Milan he must have been 32/33 and past the peak, lots of niggly injuries. Regardless, great player to watch and incredible target man, fearless and ruthless. Favourite match was a freezing cold Upton Park in December 1984 - Saints in Rank Xerox with red socks, cracking combo. WHU had beaten us 3-2 at the Dell earlier in the season and we did the reverse to them, own goal and Danny Wallace in response to a brace from Cottee - who was a bit of a tosser. Joe really going for it , putting himself about and drawing loads of stick from the WH fans, scores the winner leaps up on the cage where the Saints fans are in shear delight shouting 'get tae fuck, get tae fuck' - happy days, more innocent times
  3. If I were Dragan I'd offer Danny Cowley this role, £2k a week, villa with a pool and free kebabs at Abrakebabra in Göztepe's equivalent of Bedford Place.
  4. Girona is a perfectly sized and placed club for a Sports Republic takeover 🇪🇸🙂
  5. Result, that was taken on the Red Funnel ferry this morning!
  6. It would be nice to see him feature when we play them, for old times sake.
  7. Certainly a potential shake-up in West Ham’s defence
  8. Fancy 2-1 (Adams, Aribo) under the lights. Marquee signing Broja presented to the crowd at half-time by Dragan and Rishi 'Inside Crew' Sunak.
  9. Great news, and wishing all anxious Saints fans a celebratory Harry Wink over the weekend!
  10. Fancy us for 2-0 with this one (Ward-Prowse, Aribo). Always nice to upset Surrey's finest.
  11. Tyson Fury is available, good in the air, and technically better than Janet Vestergaard.
  12. Absolute gentleman and the epitome of the complete attacking midfielder. Only 67, so well before his time, always bloody awful news. David Armstrong scored 15 odd goals in each of his first two seasons with Saints and was player of the year in 83/84 - the star studded year we finished second in the top flight. What price that kind of ability now? Scores of footballing memories of DA at the Dell, and meeting him on a few occasions outside football following his retirement - quiet, modest, and unassuming but a very special talent in a very special Saints side. RIP Spike!
  13. I don’t think that’s unreasonable, as an extra incentive Ings on loan with Villa picking up the wages might seal the deal, help bring on Mara and Ramos.
  14. This development of this threat is analogous to the plot of the Great Escape to an extent, with James Garner’s meticulously planned hopes of reaching neutral territory to avoid capture and brutal interrogation dashed at the last minute.
  15. Pete Haynes is a world leading expert in playing three centre backs, this appointment shows yet more intent from the Brentford way.
  16. Was hoping we’d go for Ćaleta-Car when we signed Daddy-Ketchup, as in last year of his deal at Marseille. Would be just what we need, but there you go, over the saints hill at 25!
  17. I am relieved we are no longer spunking money up the wall on wank signings like this...
  18. Again, shouldn't really say but they are going with free tickets for Saints ladies and a discounted kebab for everyone who attends ten away matches...
  19. Yes, shouldn't really mention this but as soon as we win the league Dragan has this pencilled in.
  20. Leicester always an interesting comparator to us on and off the park, particularly with an identical flat pack Barr stadium. Interesting to see what you can do in terms of a small extension and an robust architectural makeover - when we are transformed into the English Borussia Dortmund under Sports Republic we will probably have a red version of this - https://www.constructionnews.co.uk/buildings/in-pictures-leicester-city-unveils-stadium-expansion-12-08-2021/
  21. I would like to see players gate-crashing and doing the conga through Ralph's press conferences, not every game but perhaps after a particularly heavy defeat, plus more ponytails and nail varnish.
  22. 3-1 to Spurs my regrettable prediction, Aribo consolation for saints and mind-numbingly Ralph starting McCarthy ahead of Bazunu in goal.
  23. If we don’t, some still will on here.
  24. A bell emoji would be a good addition, though this place would frequently resemble Westminster Abbey as a consequence.
  25. He is in need of bunch of new onions, a striker in the Pelle mould, the Italian scallion!
