  1. Ipswich, 1995. Lost 2-1. Was at the height of the Grobelaar match-fixing allegations and the pressure obviously got to him. And some Suffolk carrot-cruncher called us "riff-raff". Us! Very hurtful for a sensitive 10 year old never liked them since...
  2. You've been whining on and on about how the internet's treating you badly for what's got to be more than a year. Give it up, it's f*cking sad.
  3. Indeed. Bloke needs to stop being such a hater and attend to his own affairs rather than writing stupid lists, IMHO.
  4. Hell no, I've got Harrow Boro v Maidstone followed by Harrow Beer Festival and a night out in Camden I may find out the score, but that's it.
  5. Indeed. Very good and not even a rip-off of a Yanited/Liverpool song.
  6. Wouldn't the illusion of being involved in a threesome make such chaps bust their nut too quickly anyway? I mean group sex is group sex, even if one of the girls is a bit sub-par, amirite?
  7. It's just petty Ulster-lite horsesh*t that, as always, completely misses the point of the occasion. Not worth paying much attention to. Still, that's what the "Old Firm" are there for I suppose.
  8. Vaughan Williams is an excellent choice. They had some fantastic music by English composers on Classic FM last night, George Butterworth, William Walton etc. Anything by Butterworth gets me all misty simply due to his end - killed at the Somme at only 31 with his best years of composing ahead of him. What a bloody waste, sums that war up really
  9. I'm sure Livingstone's innate sense of fairness and humanity would have motivated him to do so. However, he's 20 years older and a fair bit smaller than Johnson, so the result may have been different. Or maybe the dirty commie would have looked on snickering, and given the girl an extra boot in the head at the end. Because as you know, that's what us lefties enjoy doing.
  10. As modern-day home crowds go, Orient weren't bad and a lot better than I expected. Not great or anything, but you could see all three home stands give it a bit of a go at various points, which is quite unusual. Nice little ground as well - odd-looking with the flats, but in a good way.
  11. Ooh, uber-macho hard-man implications of violence in response to reasoned argument...not fascistic at all, lol. Honestly, I wouldn't have said anything because I was with my parents, brother and brother's girlfriend and didn't want any ensuing bullsh*t inflicted on them. Ironically, I'd be more likely to say something along the line of "you thick fash bastards" if I was on my own. Then probably backed down pretty darn quick, because I'm a limp-wristed commie fag (and, of course, I don't have a big group of like-minded meatheads to back me up)
  12. We were alright, but not as good as we could have been considering there was 3,000+ there. But then that's always the way when we take a big crowd away, beyond 1,500-2,000 the atmosphere tends to get diluted - not knocking it, it's just the way it is. Orient were surprisingly good I thought, wasn't expecting much from them but they did at least do a fair amount of singing (albeit not particularly loud), which is more than you can say for a lot of home supports.
  13. De Gaulle was an arsehole, no doubt about that. Can't say this story particularly affects my views on the tens of millions of French people who haven't been rude to any British war heroes, mind.
  14. They're bastards. Must admit to holding a grudging respect for them at certain times though, the support they gave their team at that 4-3 comeback game a couple of years ago was something a bit special.
  15. Yeah, at least get a couple of links from the Sun and Express in.
  16. Richard Hall. Buggered off to West Ham and promptly got an injury which pretty much ended his career.
  17. Doesn't bother me in the slightest what Americans think of football, and I'm sure they don't take similarly daft and ignorant opinions of people from other parts of the world on their sports very seriously either. That article is pretty much the equivalent of uninformed people over here parroting the view that "American football players are wimps because they wear body armour" - moronic thing to say because players can be tackled above the waist in NFL, without armour they'd probably have serious injuries every game, along with an occasional death. Morons are morons wherever you are. That said, they seem to enjoy laying into football more than the rest of the world likes laying into their sports; I can't see any British or continental newspapers taking the time to give a lengthy slagging to baseball or whatnot. But then, Yanks get very insecure and aggressive about anything that's popular and not American. It's how they roll.
  18. I always enjoyed the occasional visits of "The Don", a random Liverpool fan who took a shine to the board in the Saintsforever days. I don't miss adolescent spammers like Red and white panda, samski saint etc., damn those kids didn't half post some sh*t.
  19. The stick definitely affected his confidence - I reckon his kicks may well have improved after the first couple, but for the crowd winding him up and getting in his head. Nice to feel you made a difference
  20. Genuine socialist parties are opposed to the EU as "an exclusive capitalist club".
  21. So as I understand it, you're an emigrant to America who loves their tradition of red-blooded laissez-fair capitalism, but who will vote for a party who hates the free market and immigration? Right...
  22. Hopefully an hour will be long enough to back Griffin into a corner and get him to let something slip about "grinning piccaninnies", "only 100,000 people" being killed in the Holocaust, something like that. It'll be a struggle though - loathsome fash c*nt he may be, but he's not a stupid man.
  23. My house has a set of rare Harp Lager beermats
  24. Lincoln Creams (the best biscuit ever).
  25. There's half a dozen posters who have long been far too concerned with getting one up on each other on an internet forum. I think it just seems like more because of their near-constant posting. It's annoying when decent threads get turned into a stupid back-and-forth vendetta, but it's a very small number indeed who go in for that tedious sh*te. It's certainly nothing like it was when Lowe was still chairman, and everything anyone said (no matter how innocuous) was "typical Lowe luvvie", "typical anti-Lowe sheep", and so on. Despite being in the 3rd Division the fanbase is a lot happier and optimistic than it's been in years, and the board has improved to reflect that.
