  1. Even though i hate Redknapp (for various reasons including him calling me a "scruffy bastard" once outside SMS (I did call him a "Skate bastard" mind), you cannot help thinking (and knowing) that he was doing the job with one and a half hands tied behind his back. Lets face it, if it wasn't for RL and his 90,000 budget to get us back to the PL and his attempt to get SCW on board over Redknapp who knows where we might have gone under Redknapp. Begrudingly he seems to do a good job almost everywhere, needs money though and clearly has no morals (couldn't believe it when he turned up in the sesspit's town hall to collect the 'freedom of the city' after walking out on them, the arrogance of the man is astounding) and he constantly ****s me off when he whines about other fans having a song about this or that etc. He is a smug chancer that likes to collect brown paper envelopes but , he does bloody good job at this football management lark!
  2. thats a good shout!
  3. Dont think Linekar played in The PL (its not Premiership by the way, used to be for a couple of seasons at the start i think)
  4. Les ferdinanad
  5. booked two balcony boxes, tickets seem to be the same prices?? Never been in those fancy boxes, take along a few customers
  6. I do remember going to Boro on a night game, course it was cold and yes, not many there if i remember so it could well have been that one. There was also Sundrland away on New Years day, at the old Roker Park, think Kevin Ball scored the only goal. I have to say that they really were the good old days when football was football and players were people and fans were proper fans and not here for the prawn sandwiches or 'kids for quid' games. Still never went by train though, except to London games like QPR, cause you had to really.
  7. yeah, that is true, we were clearly the only fans that did travel that night though!
  8. Norwich away, weds night, 88 fans, ZDS, might have been the year we won it, though reckon it could have been previous year, made plymouth away in the same comp with a World class save from Tim. After reading some opinions on here about the seats and in reflection, it is a **** poor reason, hold my hands up to that one, just aint got the enthusiasm as i did when watching the likes of MLT, Shearer, Case etc etc, maybe thats a reflection on todays game
  9. good one...
  10. good for you mate, clearly you are the most loyal and bestest fan around and you like to prove that by name dropping some geographically awkward places to go to. My record is 110 games home and away consecutively (norwich away on a weds in the zds being one), where do i rank? probably low down because i didnt go by train perhaps? If there was a super fan award i'm sure you'd win it, if there was a 'big head patronising super fan', well you'd get my vote.
  11. think you have missed the crucial point here, no one is arguing that NC was effectively right in what his point was, and that he was trying to do us a favour etc. but the real point is the words he used which you have conveniently not commented on.
  12. yeah, you're right but you have deleted my point about the word 'mong', so you clearly do not tolerate racist, homophobic abuse but you are saying its alright to call someone a spastic on this forum, yeah?
  13. Listen, if NC has said it how it was then fine, but saying stuff like "they were trying to line their own pockets...", well I dont think thats right, he didn't need to add those sort of comments on really. Its not a case of supporting another teams management as you put, its just it wasnt so long ago that we were collecting money to stay afloat, not every club has the resources that we do and you cant blame them for trying to cash in on a big draw for them.
  14. so to be a 'true' supporter you have to go by train? Give it up mate!
  15. yeah, might happen and then we'll all be wanting to go, thats football supporters for you. Good luck to you if you want to go every game come what may, used to be like that myself back in the 90's (glad it was then and not now), but to have a go at people who say their reason for not going, well....
  16. its not looking for excuses, clearly some people dont want to go. It may be that the fact you can't sit where you usually sit is a deciding factor, think everyone has the right to assess the pros and cons of going on Saturday and make up their own mind. Pros - Its Saints, we support the team Cons - We are playing a team a div below us, maybe it wont be that competitve Pro - Its only £15 Cons - ST holders only pay that for league games that mean so much more Pro - Its the FA Cup Cons - Its not that important, we aint going to win it so what is the point (it is sad that this great competition has evolved into a season bit part but thats the way it seems to be these days)? Pro - Can't think of any more Cons - Half empty stadium, no atmosphere, sitting in a stand you dont want to otherwise you would have got your ST in it originally, boring game probably, second string team, I could go on........
  17. no, its a right, its an expression of desire, people might think writing on this forum is sad.
  18. yeah, great, lets get all the people that dont stump up for ST's even more tickets cheaper than my pre-purchased one. Once in a while maybe but if it happens much more then clearly there are going to better options than buying a ST.
  19. why do people have to come on here and encourage people to go? I think most people have their own minds and dont need someone (who is hoping his wife will like so she comes again???) to say "come on guys......". I was embarrassed as a Saints fans in the way NC beliiteld Shrewsbury because they wanted to earn a few quid, a niave view perhaps but all the same they were entitled to ask. His reply was very disrespectful and showed a complete lack of class and professionalism. I, llike a lot of others simply can't be bothered and I dont think opening two stands helps, as well as not having the chance to book your own seat. If I want to sit in a stadium watching a mathch that has a non league feel about it then I might as well go to Eastleigh and save a journey.
  20. i'll be the first of us part timers to ask then; Who is it that you are talking about, or who do you think you are talking about?
  21. thanks, back to the pumpkin then
  22. whats the score please?
  23. Sitting in traffic on Stoneham Lane and I politely lets this big Range Rover out of the Concorde car park (then noticing he wason the phone so he never even thanked or acknowledged me the way you do), follows it to the M27 roundabout and as we split into two lanes I look into his motor and its only ****ing Hermann Hreiðarsson! How on earth am I ever going to live with myself, doing a Skate a favour, and a player at that. Last time I had contact with one of their players I hit him, though his mates then hit me, and kicked me, long time ago now, Warren Aspinall, outside Martines nightclub in Eastleigh, oh they were the days.......
  24. number 39 Southampton will play......... number 71 Rushden & Diamonds
  25. kylie
