Given that many on this thread consider the behaviour shameful let's just imagine the following comment from the 'pole position' consortium leader who was watching from the director's box today : " I was shocked to witness the disgraceful violence at the end of today's match and thought that the throwing of missiles at innocent women and children in the away section was a thing of the dark old days ! I consider that my colleagues will not want to be associated with this sort of behaviour and have therefore decided to withdraw our offer unconditionally ! I would accept that 'undue influence' from disparate groups could be unhealthy but would certainly hope that whoever takes us over is independent enough to make their own decisions ! Right now though I am more concerned about receiving an offer than the actual 'terms and conditions' attached (perhaps naively) ! One step at a time is the order of the day although I guess your point is that you do not want a takeover which ends up a bit like the Wilde fiasco and in that case we are in agreement !!

Stanley, The main thrust of my point was not to defend the Saints Trust. It was merely to state that the 'unity' which you called for should be 'all inclusive' (pretty logical really). To call for unity and at the same time suggest the exclusion of a bona fide supporters group strikes me as a bit of a nonsense, no ??

Stanley, I am not sure that you realise it but you have already contradicted yourself by calling for 'unity' and then immediately suggesting 'division' ! Whatever your personal views are on the Saints Trust, they remain a body of Saints fans who have as much right to express an opinion as anyone else and the new owners (???) would be well advised to be even handed and NOT alienate any sector of the fanbase ! All IMHO of course !

The policy, the strategy, the targets, the mood, the motivation etc, etc.. all start at the top ! This applies in any company, group, association or team ! Given the hopeless, divided and incompetent leadership that has existed at SFC in the last few years, nobody should be surprised at the disastrous situation which has resulted ! Sure the players have not performed but against a backdrop of bickering, costcutting and appalling mismanagement they do not stand alone !!!!

Whilst we are having this love-in, I would like to invite Alpine_Saint and Nineteen Canteen round to my place for a chinwag (I am actually quite serious as I am intrigued to meet the more extreme characters of this site) ! So far everybody that I've met in the flesh has been great ( kindred spirits and all that ) whereas the written word loses body language completely and tends to make views more entrenched by the minute !!! It seems that their holding company is already in administration but I have not heard of any 'forensic' investigation or talk of docking points ! I realise that the PL is different to the FL but if there is a comparison perhaps it could help our case by way of precedent ????
