I know someone who blew a few million on a club similar to ours and not only did he lose the lot but he got abused into the bargain so it's important not just to blindly throw money at the problem ! For all his faults I have heard from other clubs directors and also from the FA (indirectly) that Rupert always championed the Saints and held his corner every time, he fought like a tiger to get the best deals for us, that I know for sure ! Being an egotist, however, it manifests itself in all sorts of ways (ie. he thinks he knows best on everything) He should have worked much harder on his relationship with the fans and should have left footballing strategy to the experts! In the end of course it is now history and we all have to pick up the pieces but IMHO he believed he was doing the right thing even although it ended in disaster ! I await a torrent of abuse.........

I suspect that you are twisting the facts here : a) Nobody is (anti) our good young players, only the fact that they were all thrown in at the deep end together ! b) Stupidity/incompetence was the cause of playing too many youngsters at the same time, surely that's what managers/coaches are there for, to get a balanced team capable of getting results, no? My opinion is not borne out of hatred for Lowe, it is based on proven logic in the football world and most certainly is no reflection on individual youngsters in the squad !!!
