I have one grandson who lives in Cape Town, was here and just gone back. Two grandsons who live in Belgium, currently here but leaving soon. All three traditionally get a new kit each year when they visit us. If I can't buy them by next week then the postage will cost more than the (overpriced) kits !! Given that the club is looking to establish an overseas fan base, it's not exactly a good advert ! Grrrr....

Really strange as my Liverpool tickets arrived yesterday, the day after I bought them !

Wrong, heal sealed motifs and badges are notoriously unstable (I'm looking at last years kit right now and the logo is peeling !) and any factory in China can have problems ! Having been in some hundreds of factories in Asia over the years and bought similar items as these in huge quantities, I assure you that UA suppliers are not exempt from this danger ! Having said that, you may be right in your assertion that the logo was not sanctioned by the club but we just don't know, do we ? No need to attack me for having an opinion based on my experience in this particular market !

That's the mystery then, why would LD sports not permit (or be able) to sanction the usage of their own logo ?? My best guess is still that the shirts were made with a quality flaw (logo peeling off ?), we're rejected and had to be remade hence the delay ! This would also explain why some shirts have been available on the 'grey market' !! Still a farce however we look at it !!

Personally I can’t see anyone other than UA being accountable for this fiasco ! They are responsible for design, development and manufacture of Saints related products and in line with most other sports brands they do not own their own factories but use regular garment suppliers, predominantly in Asia ! The polyester fabric used in replica shirts is very basic, readily available in the market and the volume required should definitely not be an issue ! The embellishments are printed/heat sealed and can be slightly problematic but TBF that’s what UA are supposed to specialise in so they should have been able to sort it quickly and efficiently ! Saints contract is with them, not the 3rd party manufacturer so the buck has to stop with them ! Quite why they are being defended by the SFC board is beyond me and in the absence of transparency I guess we’ll never really know ! This product basically expires next May so now has a lifespan of around nine months. As the margins are huge, I do feel that they should offer some sort of discount when they do eventually reach the shops ! Not holding my breath, mind.....

I emailed the club about this and asked for a definitive, transparent response rather than a bland statement ! I received a reply and guess what - it was a bland statement !! Basically they are saying "we are working hard with 3rd parties to resolve the issue but we have no idea when they will be delivered' ! It appears that only the nameless 3rd party is to blame ! Shambles....

I'm only guessing but the shirts could have been made, then the order rejected on quality grounds (perhaps the sponsors logo was peeling off ?) after that they appeared on the market as 'seconds' ! UA would have instructed the manufacturer to destroy them but it's not uncommon for these things to reappear on the black market ! Just a theory but I can't really picture another realistic scenario !

Seriously, this is worse than embarrassing I’ve got grandchildren in Belgium and South Africa with personal deadlines to meet to get them kitted out but still no information forthcoming on delivery ! I said before that I know how this business works and frankly heads should roll as it is completely inexcusable IMHO !

I was in the West Quay shop a couple of days ago and they had no idea when it was due ! At the margins they make, replaced, priority production and airfreight should be mandatory ! Frankly UA should be dumped after this fiasco, I know the whole process and delays such as this are simply inexcusable !

The 'reported' fee is understood to be £8mil ! a) This may not be right ! b) It may just be the upfront payment with many add-ons ! c) Could easily be a negotiating tactic ! Best to wait and see !

A piece of advice to those who are concerned about cyclists, road hogs and dodgy 'old biddy' drivers : "DO NOT COME TO THE ISLE OF WIGHT" - it will not be good for your health ! Ps. exclude 'middle lane hoggers' cos we've not got no motorways :)

These key issues must be addressed IMO ! a) Clearout the deadwood ! b) Change the mentality (-29 points from winning positions) ! c) Improve home form ! If we can achieve at least 2 of these 3, we should be comfortable in mid table !

On my way back from a golf competition in Surrey last night, I listened to the first half on the radio ! Apart from all the sycophantic nonsense about the best fans etc.. there were a couple of beauties " Scotland's goalkeeper " instead of " a Scottish goalkeeper " (he has spent most of his career at Harrogate Railway!) and " Full house at Fratton " unlike the half empty Stadium of Light " (reality - 18k v 26k) ! I laughed all the way down the M3 :) Ps. I won the golf, so great day all round !!
