Well said Ant and like Dark Munster, I wish you well ! I live on the IoW and have signed up to the track, trace & test app which I really hope gives positive feedback that can be rolled out nationally ! There are some reservations naturally but I'm sure that it can be tweaked as we go along, then it should at least contain the situation until a vaccine eventually becomes available ! In the meantime I support a measured easing of the lockdown, in particular the anomalies which exist whereby the likes of B&Q can sell garden products but nurseries /market traders cannot (there are many other examples right across the business spectrum) !!

I understand that the Skate players were tested because they had played Arsenal just after they played Olympiakos where there was a known problem (and Arteta got it as well) ! Totally agree that health workers should get absolute priority and fail to see where the testing kits came from for the footballers !!

Being out in the fresh air is not a problem as long as you keep your distance from passers by, in fact pretty much all golf courses are open subject to distancing rules, not touching flags etc.. (clubhouse facilities are off limits thought). IMHO sitting on your arse in front of the telly is no substitute for a bit of exercise and this applies to oldies as much as anyone !

I ventured out this afternoon to the dump expecting it to be empty ! Surprisingly the queue was much longer than normal but I patiently waited only to find that there was 3 car spacing and it took fecking ages Anyway, it was a day out and made me forget that normally there would have been a live match on the telly, grrr.....

They are now 4 down (another one tested positive) - karma ?? Ps. this is only a flippant comment, no deep offence intended !!

I am now 'self isolating' as we have just returned from Sth Africa on a 12 hour flight with about 450 others (God knows if anyone on board was infected and strangely none of the BA cabin crew wore gloves or masks!). It is clearly the responsible thing to do although I will no doubt be bored sh!tless very soon (I only ever used to watch sport on the telly and that's all gone...) ! I have a big garden which I can tend although it's not my passion and as I live right by the sea I can do power walks along the front as long as I dodge the old biddies/farts with their dogs on the way ! We miss him an it’s no coincidence that results have suffered IMHO. He runs defences ragged, leaving space for others, particularly Ings ! Would be up for it against one of his old teams too !

We have approx 20k ST holders (I’m guessing) and most of them will attend even if only to get their money’s worth ! Mugs like me pay for 19 games and only ever get to about 13/14 max (spend part of the winter in sunny climes)! So a lot more than 1 or 2 in reality !!

Like all sweeping generalisations, it is based purely on perception and means absolutely nothing ! A bit like saying “all Germans have no sense of humour “ etc, etc.... Fact is that supporters are an eclectic mix of optimists,pessimists, whiners etc.. If form is good, support is also good and vice versa ! Reacting to a single pundit is a waste of time IMHO ! Personally I’m happy to support the Saints surrounded by the current blend of mixed characters as that is life in football !

I’ll stick with the old ‘40 points is enough’ rule ! Some teams below us will manage a few jammy wins but not enough to catch us, I doubt !
