Totally agree ! I like the new site a lot but numbering was always a great help for referring back to quote a post. Ie. I wanted to read to the end of this thread before going back to yours and it was not so easy without the number ! Terms like 'leg breaker' and 'VAR must look at that' when it's against Man U and then when Stephens heel is straked by (I think it was Fernandes) he says " I think he did catch him, painful those ones" ! He underplayed every Utd foul and overplayed every Saints one, so much so that when you look at the Stats you are amazed that we had 15 against and they had 14, hardly a one sided foul count !! It's not right that he co-commentates on Utd matches, sitting in the studio is different but taters should be neutral IMHO !

I doubt we'll get anything from this one as they are on fire and have more to play for... Now that Bournemouth have beaten Leicester (strange game) their tails will be up and our chances have diminished ! Ings himself has stated that playing alongside Long is a pleasure as he takes defenders away and creates space for him... Ralph on many occasions has used SL for this purpose and unlike you, seems to value his contribution ! For sure, the Watford match was not his best but in the wider scheme of things he still has a role to play and a lot to offer, hence his new contract !

If fit, I would definitely play Shane Long ! His pace on the break, his non stop hassling and nuisance value could unsettle their defence which is their weakest point (not that weak, I accept !) He also gels well with Ingsey and right now I don't think we have a better combination up front. Sure Adams could come good and will get game time but in a match where we're liable to rely on breakaways that's my preferred option !

The thought process seems to be that Obafemi or Long should play alongside Ings or Adams which makes sense if you look at their attributes ! Two strong, willing runners and two hold up/drifting players ! Not saying that they are all of similar ability, just that it's important to get the combinations right ! Seems that Ralph and I are on the same wavelength 😎!

When England played Scotland on the 11th November, they both wanted to have poppies on shirts but FIFA said no ! After a big hoohaa they were allowed to wear armbands ! Pep Guardiola was fined for showing support to his native Catalonia as he perceived that they were being oppressed (racist ?). I live on the IoW and have signed up to the track, trace & test app which I really hope gives positive feedback that can be rolled out nationally ! There are some reservations naturally but I'm sure that it can be tweaked as we go along, then it should at least contain the situation until a vaccine eventually becomes available ! In the meantime I support a measured easing of the lockdown, in particular the anomalies which exist whereby the likes of B&Q can sell garden products but nurseries /market traders cannot (there are many other examples right across the business spectrum) !!

I understand that the Skate players were tested because they had played Arsenal just after they played Olympiakos where there was a known problem (and Arteta got it as well) ! Totally agree that health workers should get absolute priority and fail to see where the testing kits came from for the footballers !!

Being out in the fresh air is not a problem as long as you keep your distance from passers by, in fact pretty much all golf courses are open subject to distancing rules, not touching flags etc.. (clubhouse facilities are off limits thought). IMHO sitting on your arse in front of the telly is no substitute for a bit of exercise and this applies to oldies as much as anyone !

I ventured out this afternoon to the dump expecting it to be empty ! Surprisingly the queue was much longer than normal but I patiently waited only to find that there was 3 car spacing and it took fecking ages Anyway, it was a day out and made me forget that normally there would have been a live match on the telly, grrr.....

I am now 'self isolating' as we have just returned from Sth Africa on a 12 hour flight with about 450 others (God knows if anyone on board was infected and strangely none of the BA cabin crew wore gloves or masks!). It is clearly the responsible thing to do although I will no doubt be bored sh!tless very soon (I only ever used to watch sport on the telly and that's all gone...) ! I have a big garden which I can tend although it's not my passion and as I live right by the sea I can do power walks along the front as long as I dodge the old biddies/farts with their dogs on the way ! We miss him an it’s no coincidence that results have suffered IMHO. He runs defences ragged, leaving space for others, particularly Ings ! Would be up for it against one of his old teams too !
