Oriol Romeu signs new four and a half year deal!!
The Cat replied to Wimborne_saint's topic in The Saints
Such good news. Love it. -
Everton fans have been slating Jagielka. I haven't seen enough of him this season to know whether that's justified or not.
-
We already have a perfectly good uptempo song when the players come out. Only now we've decided to cut short The Saints Are Coming to replace it with the dirge of this new song.
-
The obvious difference there being that You'll Never Walk Alone isn't a song written specifically for Liverpool FC. Nor is Glad All Over at Palace for example. Ours on the other hand is a song which we have adapted the lyrics to and have a player singing it.

Boufal has scored 2 goals in 13 games, some of which he came on as sub. Classic Heisenberg.

Their fans are in a right state https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/110255-southampton-a-post-match-thread-3-0/

I'm hoping it will be a last minute Lovren own goal.
-
I think he gave offside against Yoshida who was deemed to be interfering with play because his challenge on Morgan caused the own goal. Whether he was actually offside or not I have no idea.

Excellent win. Leicester's performance showed why they were 4/1 before the game. Oh well, lost a tenner but the 3 points more than makes up for it.
-
I didn't realise their away form was that bad. Wow.
-
I hope you are right. Just noticed that £10 on a Leicester, Arsenal, Chelsea treble returns £75. Tempting.
-
If we went to an away game and the opposition played something similar before kick off we'd be laughing at them. Get rid please.
-
Leicester are 4/1 to win so presumably anyone who thinks we'll lose is lumping on that.
-
Nothing ever comes out of them because the questions are so dull. The Lowe/SISA ones had some entertainment value but since then it's normally people moaning about insignificant nonsense like the beer being crap.
-
It'll be 0-0. Just hope we don't get an injuries before Wednesday.
-
Me too. £45 return from Hamble. Hotel bang in the city centre £28. Both booked as soon as the draw was made. I'll be missing waking up and seeing my son open his birthday presents on Thursday morning but he doesn't care. Him and his brother are both jealous they can't come too but I'm not sure the school would be too happy if they missed a day because of a football match.

Saints 1 Norwich 0 - For Once We Score A Late Winner!
The Cat replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Fair enough. Enjoy it while you can, I'm only 40 and my knee is knackered to the point where I can't even manage to stroll around in a game of 5 a side these days. Something which I find far more frustrating than any Saints performance. -
You paid £600 to watch the team you support. There's no guarantees that come with a season ticket stipulating what type of football we'll play or the results we'll get. It's like paying for a gig. It could be the best one of that band's tour, or one where they go through the motions before slipping quietly off stage to a smattering of applause. At one point tonight I noticed just how many old people were sat near me. They've been through years of ups and downs, of scintillating performances and horrible defeats. But they are still there, supporting the team because that's what they do. And that's what we should all do.

I thought you weren't going because you couldn't sit in your seat? -

To be honest I wasn't massively enthusiastic but I'm always going to turn up whatever game it is. As far as I'm concerned it's Saints, and whatever our form or position it's infinitely preferable to being sat indoors. -

Another rating: Fans - bloody awful. Crap turnout, no atmosphere. -

Awful first half, one of the worst I've ever seen. Once we put Redmond and Romeu on Norwich barely got out of their half and it was only a matter of time before we scored. Thankfully it was just before the final whistle because I really didn't want to watch another 30 minutes. Quick player summary: Lewis - had nothing to do Martina - awful. Slowed down play, couldn't cross, made more wrong decisions in one game than Cedric does all season. Yoshida - decent, but relatively untroubled. A couple of bad passes, but that's par for the course Stephens - solid enough, didn't do much wrong but had little defending to do McQueen - got forward well, excellent cross for the goal but many other crosses were cut out by the first man Reed - didn't do much. Game largely passed him by Claise - A few nice passes and interceptions mixed in with some slack passes which gave away the ball JWP - standard sideways and backwards passes. He did put in a shift though. Sims - tried his hardest. Broke through the lines a few times with nice dribbles, had a couple of powderpuff shots. Rodriguez - ran around a bit Long - looked frustrated stuck out on the left, would have caused more problems if people spotted his runs Romeu - drove us forward for the final 20 minutes Redmond - ran at players, forced them back, looked threatening. Did well in the build up to the goal. -

What is likely is that the club have prepared a list of strikers, made enquiries about the availability of a few of them and now Puel will sit down with the board to get an update on their status and discuss which he'd prefer. Once that has happened more talks between the club and agents will occur, followed hopefully by a bid. Whether we sign someone depends on a number of factors including the will of the selling club, thier valuation meeting ours, other clubs bidding for the same targets etc etc.

That last post was on the wrong thread.
