  1. One encouraging aspect today was that we did seem to be getting more players into the box than in previous league games. When we broke a midfielder, normally Ward Prowse, would support the attack and get in the box for the cross. Tadic and Redmond were also doing this far more, especially compared to the games against Spurs and West Brom when the player with the ball would be looking up to cross only to see there was no one to play the ball to. In fairness to Puel the only selection that could be questioned today was Long over Rodriguez. Davis was injured and Clause knackered after his first game back from injury on Wednesday so it made sense for Hojbjerg and Ward Prowse to start. I thought we played pretty well. Again though the lack of a half decent striker was painfully apparent. It's not just the lack of goals from Long and Rodriguez, it's their inability to consistently hold the ball up and link play which is causing problems.
  2. Superb performance. Let's go and finish the job at Anfield.
  3. Anyone who went to the away leg of that Anglo Scots cup match deserves a fricking medal. This is my 4th if Derby play off is included. Perversely, despite the loss, the post match drenching and the Derby fans on the pitch, the away leg still remains one of my favourite games.

    Poofal, surely?
  6. It's lucky some of you don't support a non league team or you'd never go to any games.
  7. Buy one in the centre of the Itchen, they are all £12.
  8. He's coming back from a serious injury so I can't see him being playing for the first team for a good while yet. Will need quite a few kickaround games with the U23's to build up fitness first.
  9. Does it matter that much? A seat is a seat, just go and watch the game. It's not madness to shut a stand because it saves money on stewards, catering staff etc etc. The Kingsland is the obvious one to shut because it has a long concourse. They'll still save money despite a few people not going because they can't sit in their own seat.
  10. People had to hang around inside and wait for them to leave so they could lock up.
  11. My mistake, it was the Spurs game.
  12. I'd like to know what was said in the 2 hour meeting between Fonte, Van Dijk and Bertrand when the 3 of them stayed behind at St Mary's after the West Brom game.
  13. Maybe people are waiting on the result of the first leg before buying a ticket. I have train and hotel booked but no ticket yet and may well sack it all off if we get stuffed at home.

Cardiff vs Fulham is a bit random
  15. Not a great game. Wasn't helped by the driving rain throughout the second half. Neither team created much. We were quite disjointed, most of our attacks breaking down before they got anywhere. Neither keeper had much to do apart from Lewis's great save near the end. The Reading players certainly cared about the win, bundling on top of each other down by the 50 or so away fans after the final penalty.
  16. Header direct from a corner. Not much of a challenge from our defence. To be fair they are man for man a bigger team, their captain is huge.
  17. Quality goal from Isgrove, ran about half the length of the pitch and slammed it across the keeper. The lack of strikers is apparent. Ball not sticking up front. Valery has made a couple of good runs forward. Reading probably had the most possession but not troubled Lewis yet.
  18. Sorry for not knowing the exact words to a ****ing ****e Oasis song. Actually I'm not sorry at all.
  19. We'll be massively in trouble if the League Cup semi goes to penalties. Barely anyone taking them inspires confidence, and Forster never seems to get near to saving any.
  20. I couldn't agree more. I also saw him driving like an arrogant **** in heavy traffic on the M3 once, for that reason alone I'd let him go.
  21. It's normally 1030 - 1100 for 3pm games, so I'd expect it to be somewhere around 1530 although I've never been before an evening game so the timings may be a bit different. Head behind the Chapel Stand, they put barriers out for the fans to stand behind and the players sign autographs after parking up.
  22. The Cedric song sounds great. The Hojbjerg chant is massively let down by the last line. I hate Pompey as much as the next man but it would be better to finish it with "but now he's on the south coast and he plays for SFC". We already sing about Austin hating Pompey (he most likely doesn't care about them one way or the other) and Hojbjerg has probably barely even heard of them.
  23. He's our Cedric Going down the right wing he's electric Doing things that we never expected And he ****s on Clyne
  24. The Conference isn't obscurity, that's reserved for the Wessex League. I turned up to watch Sholing today but it was called off because the opposition didn't have enough players.
  25. Don't forget the massive chackatrade game against Reading on Wednesday!
