I like the new/old logo. When Cortese takes over the club in the summer he can get the fans back on side by changing it to the old/new one.

Based on Barry's criteria we're lower down than we should be due to our heroic inability to win anything. A couple more finals or lower league titles would put us above an extra few teams but our lack of trophies severely counts against us. Somewhere in the mid to late 20's is my guess.

Silly end to a game in which were comfortable throughout. First half was dull and devoid of atmosphere as I've seen at St Mary's for a long time, albeit Norwich failed to trouble us save one Hooper shot that went wide. Lambert changed the game when he came on. Classy finish and a calm set up for Rodriguez. Glad to see Gallagher get his first Premier League goal after we'd decided to gift Norwich two.

Being a person of faith I chose them as my club because they are called the Saints. My favourite person at the club all those years ago was Nicola Cortese. What a guy! Apparently he made some of the so-called fans angry when he sacked Atkins but those are the sort of fans who go to the games and judging by the noise they make when I'm watching on tv they are all quite shouty anyway. So the first game I ever remember was away to Man City. About the same time I joined Saintsweb to keep up to date with the shouty fans views. Some of them complained about the high ticket prices for that game compared to standing on something called a terrace at Peterborough but I think they made that place up. Anyway the shouty fans still went to the game and looked very happy when one of the Davis players scored to make it 2 to 1. Sadly we lost but at least we had tried hard which is what Jesus would have wanted. My proudest memory supporting Saints was watching them lose to Sunderland in the FA Cup this year. It must be a pointless competition, I haven't heard of 2 of the last 4 teams left in it so it goes to show that the other big clubs don't care abut it either. Hopefully now we'll finish one place higher in the Barclays Premier League because it's what Jesus would have wanted (both Jesus our first team coach and the Lord) Following Saints on the internet is good fun and the matchday threads are a good way for us proper fans to sensibly talk about the match while the shouty people are in the stadium. Some of the fans on the matchday threads do seem a bit cross if Saints let in a goal even when there's lots of time left to play but then someone will post a picture of a sexy Nun which is what Jesus would have wanted. In the future I hope that Saints finish 8th in the league and that our new Chairman successfully extends our brand around the world so many more people of faith can join me in supporting the Saints.

I'm sorry, but as exciting and amazing as your post is it can't be true because further up this thread someone who has absolutely zero knowledge of Luke's thoughts or the clubs desire to sell him stated "he will clearly go to Chelsea this summer" And because he said it first it must be true.

Good. I'm no fan of long haul pre season trips. Mind you, without a jaunt to the USA we'll never be able to emulate those big clubs like Pompey.

Since the game after Cortese left I've been consistently able to get signal and 3G at St Mary's for the first time since all the JCL's started turning up and filling the ground. Perhaps he was in fact a robot and made out of a type of metal that made phone usage in his vicinity impossible. That's the theory I'm sticking with.

I'm not actually all that bothered about the result and have pretty much resigned myself to the fact we won't win. The day is just all about a good session in London even if we are traveling up and back with a Palace mate in our group.

All their old shirts are festering in charity shops where they've been donated in the last couple of years. There were loads in Fareham the other day, everyone there is clearly supporting Saints now.

Seeing as the game is on Steve Grant's doorstep we're all going to his to drink before the game. He's even laying on some food and has booked a few dolly birds for entertainment. Feel free to join in.

There was a strip of seats in the Northam, about 5 seats wide from the top of the stand to the bottom, on our side of the segregation that was empty. That may account for some of them because otherwise it seemed full, even most of the corporate was sold out.

He did. Despite being so slight that his shirt always looks 3 sizes too big he has enough pace and skill for it not to matter. Definitely an exciting player to have coming through.
