  2. Solid performance. Controlled possession, reduced Hull to the odd break and fully deserved the win.
  3. Not the best of games, Stoke defended well throughout the whole team to quash our attacks and we couldn't work out how to pass it through them. Neither team seemed particularly bothered about winning it in the second half. Made me laugh that despite it completely leathering it down with over 5 minutes to go people were walking out in their droves. Leave early and get soaked or stay in the ground for a few more minutes, watch the end of a game you've paid to see and wait for the rain to stop. Tough choice.
  4. Didn't realise Tony had made a comeback. Their best player was Shawcross. Not sure Lambert won a header all game.
  5. They have a few injuries especially at CB. I'm glad Walters is out too, can't stand him.
  6. RIP. Thoughts with Sam and his family.
  7. Watching a stream of Newcastle away this season the commentator was talking about MP and said that Mourinho had recommended him to Real Madrid. Like most stuff on here it could be true or could be nonsense.
  8. From what I've heard from someone who worked in the same industry as the person who no one wants to name it would be no surprise if it was him.

  10. Edit - no point now the above has been posted.
  11. Just about to start.
  12. Fulham Cardiff Norwich It's probably ingrained after years of Saints being down there but I've always found the relegation battle far more interesting and exciting than the title race. The teams below us are all as crap as each other. Hoping for at least 7 teams in with a chance of going down on the last day just for the drama.
  13. A great game for my son's first away, especially with the goals being scored right in front of us. We were in the neutral bit too which was all Saints fans apart from a couple of Americans who were loudly complaining about how long it took to get up the steps to the concourse at half time. It must be horrible to support Fulham. No atmosphere, kids banging those awful clacker things non-stop and that hilarious ten second countdown to half time. On the train from Clapham to Putney I overheard a few of their fans discussing their kids Latin lessons. Different world. Still, would be a shame if they went down as it's the easiest, most hassle free away game we have - especially when it's during the South West Trains sale which allowed us to get there for £10 return.
  14. Was it wrong to put pressure on Shaw, Ward-Prowse and Chambers? Other teams are adding to their squad because they don't consider their players to be good enough. We clearly do.
  15. Maybe you take a bit of time to learn a bit about the youngsters. Some of us know who they are.
  16. I like this quote ‘But surely every kid born in and around Portsmouth would want to play for their local club.’ Presumably he means kids like Chamberlain, Ward-Prowse, Josh Sims...
  17. I'm only glad he's gone so people stop moaning about him. Hate it when the crowd gets on a players back and the collective sighing, tutting and groaning when he missed a tackle or made a bad pass was embarrassing. Forest may get promoted so we could see him back at St Mary's next season.
  18. 2 seasons ago I watched us lose 5-1 to Forest in the Youth Cup at St Mary's with Shaw, Ward-Prowse and Chambers in the team. Saying that I was a little disappointed tonight. They were a bit stronger and more organised defensively and we struggled to create many clear cut chances. We missed having Gallagher up front because without him we don't have a striker comfortable with their back to goal who can bring others into the game. On the positive side Niall Mason impressed again in midfield, he has a great range of passing and excellent touch. Debayo is strong, quick and good on the ball coming forward from centre back. Sims was lively and looks an exciting prospect. Worth the admission fee alone to see the mad Charlton fan standing on his seat while celebrating their second goal and falling off.
  19. My 8 year olds first away game. We really should be winning this one.
  20. Crisis. Turmoil. Meltdown. Manager off. Half the players leaving. Those articles from a few weeks ago are looking more ridiculous by the day.
  21. Shaw as well. Mason made a few silly decisions but wasn't as bad as he normally is. 6/10.
  22. Watch the interview

    Chambers

He's increasing in confidence all the time and has started to get forward more because of that. Has all the attributes to be a top class player for years to come.
  24. Great game. Thought we'd blown it when they went ahead. Cork and Morgan were fantastic.
