He didn't make the same mistake though did he, after realising he wouldn't make it he got himself in position and made a great save. So maybe his spent part of the week with the goal keeping coaches analysing the Villa mistake. A goal keeper shouldn't be acting like a sweeper that's the defences roll. If he did play in a more advanced roll would you promise not to moan if he was lobbed.

Nice goal. So the English fans response to the excellent Scottish atmosphere is to sing the National Anthem and Rule Brittiana FFS, is this all our away fans can offer. No wonder Wembley is so **** when we have such a crap bunch of songs.

No but it's still a leap of faith the trust the physics.

Which teams do we want in our group?
Fan The Flames replied to Stud mark of doom's topic in The Saints
**** it I play. No Russian sides,, I would like an easy team, a winnable classic team and a nearish team. So Apoel Nicoisa, Sampdoria and Celtic -
The PFA is the players union so they would side on the right of the player,, in their defence their window on this is very small. Sheffield U hold his registration so I guess are obliged to let him train. This would be solved if SU just released him, they are not for some reason, who knows.

No one is stopping him get on with his life, people don't want him getting a high profile job, it would be the same if he was a TV presenter. Football teams represent their area, so if the people of Sheffield don't want him then so be it. Part of the problem is it appears that he believes he hasn't done anything wrong or he is finding it difficult to admit what he has done. No one knows want went one apart from the two people but he was found guilty so that is the only fact people can go on.

At what point does winning every game get tedious?
Fan The Flames replied to Chewy's topic in The Saints
Not sure why, because I'm a football fan and I wanted my team to win. I know you like us losing so you can have a moan, but the more games we win the more annoyed I get with not beating Potchetino. Where did I say we deserved to win. -

I'm still ****ed off with the Spurs and West Brom results. -
They are very good figures. We do look good defensively.
-
Shameful. That was nothing to do with celebration and everything to do with **** policing, ban the police.
-
It's a **** rule, celebrating with your fans is brilliant, it's entertainment. It shouldn't be a yellow card. Oi Prof have you never done anything spontaneous, have you never jumped into a pond ****ed or gone out for the paper to cone home two days later. Other sports allow it, the Scottish bloke winning Wimbledon, he climbed up the stand.
-
If we do get to a final then those who still believe Potchetino was right last season at Sunderland should be barred from buying tickets.

Stop the ****in press there's a new story; Young man can be a bit of a tit sometimes when ****ed.

For those who think can/will finish higher than 8th this season
Fan The Flames replied to Rasiak-9-'s topic in The Saints
Arsenal's record against top four sides is pretty ordinary and they seem to do ok. 2 points a game over a season gets you up there. So 25 wins and a draw gives you up 10 games to play with you. So you can lose a few against the big boys. -
West ham obsessed with us? And stoke reaction to our team/season
Fan The Flames replied to Saint86's topic in The Saints
Not convinced they have what it takes to last the season. They faded today in the second half. I think they will struggle to pick up points from Christmas onwards. Wouldn't surprise me if they earn less than 10pts in the 2nd half of the season. Read more: http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/236043/why-good-southampton#ixzz3HEfZwqIL This is the one I like. Because he thought we faded today this genius concludes that we will only get ten points in he second half of the season. -
Nice bit of writing, with a couple of lassie lines.

Its great that fans from abroad are visiting us. If we leave a little impression on them and they regard us in the future with some fondness (I was searching for a more manly word than that, but it'll do) then thats brilliant. The more the merrier. I have done a few trips abroad to waytch football with mates and they are great week ends so I sure they enjoyed themselves. I will be doing Feyenoord in the spring.

A direct free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following seven offences in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force: kicks or attempts to kick an opponent trips or attempts to trip an opponent jumps at an opponent charges an opponent strikes or attempts to strike an opponent pushes an opponent tackles an opponent Read more at http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/laws/football-11-11/law-12---fouls-and-misconduct#7bEufmioyeWFEC7M.99 So the ref clearly thought that Forster was neither careless, reckless or using excessive force, thems the rules.

The point it’s about what distinction or measurement do you use. The BBC have got behind women’s football in attempt to create some balance on a gender level as they have chosen to use gender as there point of distinction. Skill could be the point of distinction and balance could be created by giving coverage to a less skillful man’s league, a league that some may argue is more skillful than women’s football and followed by more people. After all us male **** footballers are underrepresented on national TV. Each sport has to fight for its place in the nation’s psyche, so fair play to women’s football for securing the level of coverage that they have. But just because it’s the women’s equivalent to a men’s sport doesn’t mean it has an automatic right to be regarded in the same way. I was listening to a football report on women’s football and a women footballer was chastising men for not coming to watch their sport, saying the failure of men to engage in women’s football is the only reason why it’s not taking off. My first thought is it is the mans wife’s and girlfriends, who are generally women, who are the gatekeepers to how their men spend their free time. It’s hard enough to get to all the men’s games you want to go to, let alone slipping in to a few ladies matches as well.

For those who are serious about their history
Fan The Flames replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
http://www.leytonorient.com/news/article/history-somme-358384.aspx The above story of the Leyton Orient football battalion was researched and written by the cousin of an old work colleague of mine. My colleague was very proud of his cousins effort and it was recognised well by the club. I think it is now being made in to a play. -
Canterbury, is a great call. Nice town and its only a few miles to the coast. Turf and surf.
