  1. This isn't the Premiership.
  2. He was commenting on the strength of the League not that of Celtic. The top ten League One clubs are bigger and better than the ten Non Old Firm teams.
  3. Comparisons? Not a perfect match of course. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/luton_town/7507736.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/leeds_united/6920103.stm 10 points out of the 30 point deduction Luton Town had were for financial irregularities in payments to agents. So the Football League do dish out punishment even if it is criminal. There do seem to be some odd dealings with Pompey and agents. Mandaric, Storrie and Redknapp all have court cases for tax evasion and convicted fraudster Daniel Azougy was left advising operations. From the Creditors document on page 5
  4. They have survived (I think)... Although I'm not 100% sure what all of it means, but it looks like they got off lightly.
  5. SSN's reporter at the meeting was useless in his summary of the last 4 and a half hours.
  6. He has appeared unfazed for a lot of things in the last few months and later been shown to be wrong.
  7. It may count as football debt and thus all £50m have to be paid.
  8. Taxman it seems has just double the debt owed to them and increased their % in the CVA vote.
  9. Because they'd get even less if the club was liquidated.
  10. Debts are now... £138.6 million!!! From a BBC reporter at the meeting. http://twitter.com/bbc_matt
  11. Nope, you are presuming an awful lot. It may be right, but you don't know.
  12. Beattie is on roughly £35k p/w Lambert (Saint's top earner) is on roughly £8k or £9k p/w Unlikely Beattie... a) Would fit into the wage structure b) Would be signed as a reserve for Rickie c) Would play as a partner with Rickie d) Would play in League One
  13. Was featured on a recent BBC4 program about maps. Is that where you saw it first?
  14. So I can't accuse anyone of using the word ironic incorrectly anymore? You spoil all my fun!
  15. Everyone could follow your lead and I'll be left talking to myself. (You may or may not have read that if you have put me on your ignore list already, in fact you wouldn't be able to read this so I'll stop)
  16. That isn't ironic. You must be an Alanis Alanis Morissette fan... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8v9yUVgrmPY&feature=related Watch this...
  17. How is that ironic?
  18. May have reduced the chances of Barclays calling in the overdraft if it looked like the club was going to remain in the Championship.
  19. Far from it. If Pearson had been the manager last season and kept Saints up, Rupert Lowe may still be in charge.
  20. A thread from 2 days ago on a Hartlepool forum... http://www.pooliebunker.co.uk/newbunker/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=32101 He was also linked by a number of media sources back in the summer window of 2009. http://www.tribalfootball.com/southampton-eyeing-sunderland-striker-odonovan-282161 Seems to go against Pardew saying he wants a Lambert style player in backup, because O'Donovan is a very different type of striker. Unless he wants O'Donovan and a Lambert "type". Lambert Barnard Connolly? Waigo? O'Donovan? "Lambert" type?
  21. Beggars belief that you didn't read that the Pardew story wasn't the Echo's and they were just reporting what the Daily Mail printed. So no, these two stories in the Echo don't contradict each other.
  22. It is when it came from only 14 games and a poor team behind him to create very few chances.
  23. Maybe they should add a new verse about football rumours.
