  1. I doubt it. The Football League are very strict. Look what happened to Bournemouth last season... not even allowed to sign a free transfer with £0 wages. "No" means "No" with the Football League.
  2. Further to this.... If he isn't out of contract, why is he training with Saints if contracted elsewhere? He is too good to need a trial at an English 3rd tier team. It seems even more far fetched than the Freddy Adu rumours.
  3. By which point the transfer window would have slammed shut and Pompey wouldn't have signed anyone due to the embargo remaining in place whilst waiting for the case to be heard. James, Rocha, HH etc all unable to sign new deals, no loans, free transfers etc and a tiny squad.
  4. Notts County - Austria Plymouth Argyle - Holland Probably not many others.
  5. I find this extremely hard to believe.
  6. Why would Coles leave West Ham days after joining them? Why would Coles want to be Saints youth goalkeeper coach?
  7. Strange this has made SSN it is hardly groundbreaking news... As far as I was aware Keith Granger was a youth goalkeeping coach at the club. Hence why they are currently advertising for a youth goalkeeping coach. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/staticFiles/f2/51/0,,10280~152050,00.pdf Stuart Murdoch is the 1st team goalkeeping coach and scout.
  8. Grant Payne seems to be under the impression 1st team players will be playing along with youngsters for Saints. I don't think he understands that the 1st team are in Switzerland on a training camp. He is going to be very disappointed when Anthony Pulis and a bunch of 16-21 year olds turn up on Saturday.
  9. Plymouth Argyle are going to the Netherlands.
  10. No. Next years list of scholars should be good I think.
  11. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2085789,00.html Good luck to them all. Nice as usual to see a good bit of info about them.
  12. It did initially. It has been edited since I posted.
  13. That is the figure on the Charlton website so it is accurate. http://www.charlton-athletic.co.uk/newsview.ink?nid=36238
  14. Promotion will be achieved in March 2011 and Alpine will implode.
  15. He played four Premier League games in Leeds last season in the top flight. Including a match against Saints. He was then their right back and later captain for a number of seasons including their playoff season in the Championship.
  16. Not going to have 7 subs then SNSUN? Or David Connolly?
  17. I think Dickson will be first choice left back. Why have you left out Jason Puncheon? He was the first choice right midfielder last season and I see little reason why that will change.
  18. I can't believe you seriously thought they wouldn't be signing players.
  19. They have huge debts. They now have a tiny squad with out of contract players leaving and have also sold Shelvey to Liverpool and Bailey to Boro. Desperately trying to avoid administration. They won't be anywhere near as strong as they were last season.
  20. A deal "upto £450k" according to Charlton http://www.cafc.co.uk/newsview.ink?nid=36238 Undisclosed according to Saints. Cortese won't be a happy bunny with Charlton! I'd guess £300k upfront and £150k if Saints are promoted.
  21. Of course he won't ffs He has come here as first choice right back. Harding is a left back and a makeshift right back.
  22. Not a good signing, an excellent signing.
  23. Why on earth would it be a couple of weeks away if a fee has been agreed?
  24. If his figures are wrong can you please show where Nick is wrong with a few examples and links to the clubs official websites with the correct figures. Even if Nick is wrong and Saints are the most or one of the most expensive that still doesn't answer my point... 1) You can't compare 23 games stood for example in the Exeter, Yeovil etc terrace at the bottom of the league with 23 games sat at St Mary's and a title challenge with a wage budget and overheads to match. Prices rise if the product(quality of football) and the facilities (the stadium) are better. St Mary's will likely be top of both of these next season and this of course will be reflected in prices. Do you agree YES/NO 2) Do you expect watching Arsenal to be the same price and experience as watching Fulham?
  25. I wonder where Stu got his prices from?
