  1. The Secret Footballer has announced he may have a Secret Referee on board soon to start spilling some beans from inside the game, just like he does. This article has a little snippet from a chat he's had with him, and this quote from Scudamore is a complete joke: http://www.thesecretfootballer.com/articles/13015/referees-told-to-respect-premier-league-brand/ The article is well worth reading, but as the SF says himself - it's hard enough to win at places like Old Trafford as it is, without this sort of bias. Unless there's some kind of turnaround, football is heading for a massive crash and burn at some point. It'll take a long while, but you can't advocate promoting a brand over competition. It'll make the game a farce.
  2. How much motivation do you think it takes to be in the starting XI for a Premier League team that has about 4/5 players that could play in your position? Not to mention other factors of improving your career, or that you've spent your entire life being motivated to reach a level that a very small percentage of participants ever reach? Sorry meant to quote Colin's post...
  3. The day we had a player sustain a cracked skull for acting like a bellend in a nightclub - I knew we were going straight to the top. When you have that calibre of player, the Premier League is the only place to be...
  4. As Chelsea paid £10m (rising to £17m) for Lukaku, I would suggest they'd want more than £15m. Considering he has 3 years on his contract and the goals he scored last year, they'd want closer to £20m, and then he'd have to want to come here. One season at a club like WBA is fine, but Europe is where he probably wants to play...
  5. Very interesting, cheers. Looks like Wimbledon missed a trick here. All they needed to do to stop the move Milton Keynes was to go and knife a club legend and/or chairman.
  6. Blimey. Any news on how? Just reading Wikipedia, turns out he married Cleba Chala's daughter...
  7. Why? You decide to live in Bristol. It's not the club's fault you've decided to move, or if you've always lived there - decided to support a club miles away. Should the club fund all ex-pats whenever they fancy watching a game?
  8. Go on then, name me 30 England players that weren't in the past squad that could perform better on the national stage. I very much doubt you can...

  10. Didn't we only just recently finish paying this off? Think I read it somewhere.
  11. When do you go? I went last September and was looking forward to seeing no Coca-Cola, yet it was everywhere! I was mildy disappointed.
  12. Varadero is fantastic for the beach holidays, and there are quite a few things to do locally. I did 3 days in Havana and then 11 in Varadero, it was an amazing holiday. You absolutely have to go to Havana, it is a very unique place, and I don't think you'd get a sense of Cuba unless you went there.
  13. Doubt it. The time for real salvation became before that. He chose El Tel and the bright lights of London over Fergie at Utd - right at the last minute too. Fergie thought he was going to sign. If he'd stayed at Utd his whole career - he probably wouldn't be in this mess now. All hypothetical, of course...
  14. That is unbelievable. This was also interesting: Surely this should have been listed as an asset? Would you really have a painting worth that much money in the boardroom? If so, Chinny probably swiped that years ago.
  15. Agreed. I think he'd be a very good signing for us and he'd also be able to give Fonte his pants back...
  16. If you take out any form of credit and cannot repay it - that is your fault, fullstop. Doesn't matter if you have been struck down by a terminal illness - you have reneged on an agreement. It's quite simple really and there are so many people out there, looking to blame other people and don't want to take responsibility for their own decisions.
  17. You need to read 'I am the Secret Footballer' for this type of info. It mostly goes through agents...
  18. Off topic, but this is why prices will continue to go up. As people (myself included) will continue to bend over and take it, as it's ingrained in you. Until people stop going to games, prices will continue to rise. Football must be one of the most Price Inelastic businesses around, along with petrol, alcohol and smokes.
  19. Agreed. It's like fan phone-ins, or self-appointed media whores from redundant supporters groups. Would people say they are representative? He who shouts loudest (or, in the case of this site - the most).
  20. That's what everyone said when Pardew was given the job and they finished 5th. Therefore, I reckon they'll win the league this season...
  21. Thinking about the amount of players we’ve signed in the last 15 years, seems slightly odd that everyone seems pretty much agreed on the best 5 (especially on this forum!). Is it indicative that we’ve wasted an awful lot of money and/or a lot of signings haven’t actually set the world alight (or, been utter gash)? Or, are many clubs the same, and you only get this amount of players that make this sort of impact on the team and club, within this time period?
  22. Fair play. At least he can buy some trainers that match his age, rather than wearing his teenage son's...
  23. Black people also used to make excellent scapegoats. It's more difficult to pass your crimes off these days. Just making the OP aware, as this will undoubtedly affect his decision.
  24. Damn Mandela for taking away those white people privileges...
  25. Let's be fair. I love Rickie and he's been great for us. But, he isn't fit enough to lace Sheringham's boots and comparing him to Berbatov is like comparing Fox to Ashley Cole. FFS.
