My understanding too, but as I don't go back to those times I cannot say for sure, certainly when I first started going in 1966 the dislike for and rivalry against Spurs was well ingrained. The Chivers transfer only intensified that dislike, although he really had become surplus to requirements with Big Ron and Mick. We still got the thick end of £125k in the deal, which was a transfer record at the time (doesn't sound much now does it?) and Frank Saul wasn't the worst player in the world, or even the worst we signed from Spuds (Forecast).

Didn't he bring in Lovren and Wanyama as well as Osvaldo? He didn't really need to bring many in did he? It was only after he left that we needed to bring in lots of players.

He didn't say any such thing. He said discussions were taking place about a new 5 year plan and that contract talks might/will follow but that its too early (that was at least 2 weeks ago now). I guess some people just seem to have a simplistic (or simple) view on things. Its an on-going thing, not a one-off meeting to agree the new terms.

Will be odd seeing him playing alongside Vardy.

We will be selling players the year before we sign them soon. Mane's value peaked last season not this, he has been very low key this season, and I really don't see any big clubs, who may have genuinely been interested last season, coming in for him now. Man U for sure will not be after him, IMHO, they have bigger fish to fry. To me its not a given that he will be gone this summer.

They can still win it but will probably have to beat Saracens first and then either Exeter or Wasps.
