  1. Totally agree, Wotte has been as integral a part of what has happened this season as JP. So far he has not even delivered what JP did, still a home win tomorrow would at least bring him level with Nice but Dim in terms of home wns I suppose.
  2. Wotte was initially appointed as Academy Director and to assist Jan. To quote Wotte himself on the day he was appointed (see Archive if you do not believe me): "My role is to assist Jan and give guidance to the Academy and to produce players for the Championship and ultimately the Premier league." So actually he had 3 roles, none of which included coaching by the way. (1) Assisting Jan (the first team coach), (2) giving guidance to the Academy and (3) producing players (presumably including finding players from outside, not just within the Academy) His role was never initially to coach the youth or reserves, no mention of coaching when he was appointed. Because of other issues he ended up taking on that role, but clearly he was originally appointed as part of the golden due to be part of the team running the first team and also guiding the Academy.
  3. Reading the article, Charlton blame the club showing too much ambition (overspending on crap players when Dowie was manager), whereas we blame the club for not showing enough ambition (not pushng on after Cardiff) and many would welcome Dowie in place of Mark Twotte. Very different scenarios, same outcome. Further difference is that they will bounce back next season, whereas we won't unless things change dramatically.
  4. It will happen whether or not we win tomorrow
  5. The double article on the OS (two articles both saying the same thing) really winds me up. Who the hell does Wotte think he is. Patronising Dutch git with not one iota of sense of what this Club is all about. How dare he dismiss this march as something by a few kids. So a youngster is taking the lead, well good on him, but its people of all ages and persuasions supporting it. And then to say how so many players have played for this club for so long and do not want to be relegated, well guess what neither do the supporters, many of which have supported the club longer than most of the players have even been alive. There are no long term players at the cub, all are either recent acquisitions (older players and young ones), or loanees or youngsters. It comes to somthing when I suspect Surman is the most experienced outfield player (in terms of first team games for Saints). So Wotte, shut the **** up, get on with your job, and try to learn something about Southampton. Don't try to blame others for your inadequacies. The only others that are to blame are Wilde and Lowe. The sooner this 4th rate coach departs from this club the better. To the marchers tomorrow, good luck. The more pressure we can put on this gang of 3 the better. Sorry I will not be there to add my support, but will be with you in spirit.
  6. Good one St Landrew Inevitably some of the more recent players get in ahead of some of the older players where there is not an absloute legend available, that reflects probably on the make-up of the subscribers to this board. My only gripes (now I'll show my age) are the lack of spaces for Dave Peach (best LB ever) and Phil Boyer who should have at least made the bench. Bridge may be good, but he couldn't hold a candle to Peachey. Ball and Williams also should be together, the sum of the parts was far better than the individuals, both great, but together one of the best midfield pairings ever.
  7. They probably still brag about thumping us in the FA Cup Final 4-1. I don't recall the day personally though...

So when will the plan be known as to how we are going to do well in Division 3? Because we won't with Wotte we've got. FFS we struggle to beat Lewes Reserves with some of our first team
  9. No disrespect to Lewes We clearly struggled to beat their reserves 2-0, and they were even reduced to 10 men for the last 20 minutes. Our coach moaned that it was difficult to break Lewes down because they put men behind the ball. So it would seem that this is the ideal preparation for the CCC, and shows that any team can foil Saints one-dimensional style of play by getting everyone behind the ball, even the reserve team of a team currently bottom of the 5th tier of English football... It may be better if we were playing reserve sides from higher divisions, but quite frankly with the current set up its questionable whether we would have any success, and being bottom of a reserve league is not great preparation either. With the team at our disposal against Lewes we should have won 6-0, but our inept coaches cannot see how dire we really are and think this was a good result and performance.
  10. The OS is great. It was really exciting to read about our Reserves outclassing the mighty Lewes Reserves yesterday. Our new Reserves Manager (at least for this game) was clearly highly impressed with our win but noted that we had a problem scoring goals. Against LEWES FFS. How bad have we become, and how bad is the OS if it is bigging up this game as some sort of awesome performance. Remind me which league Lewes compete in  [Come to think of it I don't know which league they play in]
  11. His record speaks for itself. He is a clown and hopeless manager. So what if he really rooted for us on Sky. What has he actually ever achieved? One promotion.
  12. Ian Branfoot Peter Reid Rupert Lowe Mike Wilde Rodney Marsh
  13. We are in the **** whether games go for or against us
  14. Docker, please take on the job. We will all stand as witness that you were severly provoked
  15. Don't see much sign of oscillation, the price has not gone up once in the last month and a half at least Oscillation: the repetitive variation, typically in time, of some measure about a central value
  16. Its what happens when a club falls on Hard Times
  17. No doubt an improvement on Wotte, like Holloway. But there are so many better (and probably cheaper) options out there than a dinosaur and a clown. I'm surprised no-one has mentioned George Graham. Time has passed, football has eveolved, the dinosaurs though are extinct and even circuses have had their day. Unlikely, but not impossible that a new man now could actually make a great deal of difference, though I have always maintained the squad is good enough for mid-table given the right leadership, but it would take someone quite special to dig us out now.
  18. Alan Ball, love to bring him back in more ways than one...
  19. Quite right, people are getting het up about what players are eating and dringking immediately after or even during a game. This is not an issue. Its what they do during the build up to the game that is important. After a game its a case of replenishment. I attended an FA conference a couple of years back where the top FA dietician for the England youth teams stated categorically that the best drink during a game was Coke. I was somewhat taken aback, the only thing is it should be taken 50/50 with water. Evidently better than any of these so called high performance. Jaffa cakes also are one of the best sources of energy during half-time etc. I suspect the reason why the players are so eager to scoff pizza etc straight after a match is because it is the only time they are allowed to do so. Good diet is great but it can also be very boring.
  20. Don't have too much of a problem with them eating pizzas etc AFTER a game, jaffa cakes also during game (half time) are good. The issue is what they eat the rest of the week leading up to the game, and especially the day before/morning of a match - that is the important time. I do wonder about ANYONE eating KFC though, thats just plain nasty, cheap and low quality like MacDonalds. Went off KFC may years ago when I saw a notice scrawled on a toliet door in the factory where I worked - "Kentucky Fried Wombat - Its toenail picking good"
  21. And a points deduction would hurt us in what way? We are going down so whether we have 30 points or 0 points makes no difference.
  22. You can't polish a turd. At least Wotte The **** can't... It might be better to give them the whole week off, that way they won't learn any more from this embarrassing excuse for a coach.
  23. I don't think he'll get the chance, we all know Sir Alex is going to be our manager next season. Coppell to Saints, some people must be busy smoking something if they think this could happen...
  24. Its got nothing to do with someone with a wad. Someone with some sense, both football and financial, would make a difference. It is Lowe's mad experiments that have put us where we are, bringing in hopeless 3rd rate Dutch coaches who have no understanding of the CCC or even of football as far as I can see. Lowe is a failure both financially and from a football perspective he is no more qualified to run a plc or fc than most of the people are who run our banks.
  25. In that case we probably deserved 3 points. But we got no points because we lost. AFAIK at the end of the season the Football League do not review all of the games and award bonus points to teams who deserved to draw or win. Its nice to know we deserved more, but in the end its totally meaningless. We lost, we have lost far too many, we can't score, we have another manager who doesn't know what he is doing, we are going down.
