Given that we actually posted a profit recently for the last 6 months, I think we're in a much better position financially now than we were in the days before our FA Cup Final. Adding to that the new TV deal that comes into effect next season I think we could be set for a while!

Sunderland is our biggest game imo, we never get points up in the North East and with their run-in we could be consigning them to relegation and securing our safety - or the other way around..

Yoshida is definitely our best CB, and agree about him needing a dominant CB alongside him. Jos not quite dominant enough, need a Jaidi type.

Started playing this again, I had a game going with a Tier 9 lower league add-on with my local team Hartley Wintney FC. Got them from Tier 9 to the BSP in consecutive seasons - including winning the BSS title on the last day of the season from 3rd place, when Salisbury (1st) and Forest Green (2nd) both conceded in the 84th minute! Just started my first season in the BSP, club is 100k in debt but gate receipts are going up all the time and our wage bill is next to nothing so my first goal this season is to get the club in a better position financially and hopefully finish around the play-offs.

That puts you ahead of 99% of Reading fans in that you actually went to Elm Park...or was it when they were at the Mad Stad? Or, thinking about it, maybe it wasn't football related.

True, but I would be f*cking miserable and worse off financially in the long run had I stayed on. I would have a degree in a few months time, but most graduates that I know have had to move back in with their parents and are working in the same kind of sh!tty job that I do. I can live with the decision to drop out really, and i'm not ruling out going back later on.

I'm only 21 now but things are tough financially. Still working in the job that I took a year and a half ago when I was at Uni for some pocket money, with a few more hours. I've been applying for "proper" jobs for about 4 or 5 months now and haven't got a sniff at anything. The job market is so crowded right now that it's very tough for people like me (uni dropout, no real trade) to get a look-in when there are people who have been made redundant/looking for more money who have several years experience and are applying for the same jobs that I am. It seems that even £12k office jobs are getting snapped up so quickly now. Hopefully with this TEFL course that i'm doing I should be able to get a bit of work abroad or at a language school in the South and come back into the job market in a few years time with a bit of experience and some savings, but I don't hold out too much hope tbh. It may be a case of having to go back to Uni in my mid-20s to qualify in something else. Still, there are people a lot worse off than me out there who don't have jobs so I guess i'm lucky in that respect. It's just so frustrating that I can't seem to progress in my career at the moment.

It's a student lease through a private landlord, so not quite sure what that is. I'll check my tenancy agreement. Done some googling and it seems that I could ask the letting agency that another house is with for 2 6 month leases instead of a full year? Not sure if that's correct or not.

Anyone know if there are any properties to rent in Southampton on a monthly as opposed to yearly basis? My current lease is up in July but me and my flatmates don't want to sign up for another 12 months as we don't know how long we'll all be around this area. Cheers!

I think the same about The Governor, lots of fans of the show have complained about him all of a sudden going nuts and sadistic but you can see it's been there all along. The character in the comics was very much a comic book character, whereas they've definitely tried to make Mr Blake a lot more "real" in the show. I've really enjoyed the last couple of episodes as well, some very good scenes and important moments building up to what's going to be a pretty intense finale I feel. I've heard whispers about what's going to happen on Sunday and I know that David Morrissey has signed on for at least part of Season 4, so i'm not sure it will unfold how everyone thinks it will. Should be a corker!

Also I like how when I reply to this thread it has my name under "Southampton's Hardest Man" on the forum index. It's almost like I wons the title myself! Lolz

Haven't got a ticket so not going massively in depth yet, but it looks pretty decent. Pyramid Stage a bit sh!te but there's plenty elsewhere to see so no bother there. Would probably go and see First Aid Kit, Elvis Costello and The Rolling Stones out of that lot. What catches my eye is stuff like Nas, Simian Mobile Disco, The Hives, Smashing Pumpkins, Daughter, Local Natives, Public Enemy, Frightened Rabbit, Major Lazer, AlunaGeorge and of course the mighty Phoenix. Roll on April 21st!
