Early days but based on WBA and now this game we seem to have lost all style and panache from the ga,me and, quite frankly, are now very tedious to watch. Nothing exciting about this so far.

Dear oh dear, we look terrible. Midfield appears to be non existent and only ball from the back seems a hoof

Disappointed to not see Reed in any of the squads so far.

First organized Century ride of the summer (105 miles in Reston) with around 5.5K feet of climbing. Some great hills and mountains in the DC region (Skyline drive only just over an hour away and that is great cycling). Next stop Civil War Century in 2 weeks with 11,000 feet of climbing (or 6,600 feet depending on which GPS system is used!). So much more fun with hills than some of the boring multi-use trails round here. A tip I was taught after just starting cycling 18 months or so ago - I used to go out as hard and as fast as possible and would feel exhausted. Was then shown how to do 'heart rate training' rides and within 6 months speed had gone up, fitness had gone up and no longer die on the big hills or long rides. Bit boring to do at the time but so worth it.

1 week to go, will Kruger, Koeman n Ko stick to their word?

OldNick - so what exactly is your great idea for: 1) preventing the player sales earlier this summer 2) judging whether we are stronger (squad wise) or not at the end of the window You are extremely good at complaining but have not seen anything from you that is constructive of how the Board could have kept players, etc. And please don't say "pay them more": how on earth would a club our size pay wages of 100K per week? Of course the Board has made mistakes this summer - no-one can deny that. But at least it feels like we will have a sustainable club moving forward. -
Saints U-21s playing WHU U-21s live on youtube.

That really takes the biscuit Charlie. A thread talking about the U21 game gives you the opportunity to slag off Cropper without even seeing the game. So what do you form the basis of your opinion on? -

what the hell you on about Charlie? How on earth can you say he is awful? Did you see any of the game? He was excellent: commanded his area, 1 great save and distribution was superb. Very few of the outfield players were any good and the defence was porous. But was Cropper useless? Absolutely not. -
Batman - not sure that is actually the case. West Ham, cardiff (at home), villa and others parked the bus and we struggled to break them down as they negated our pressing style and we had no plan B

Blimey...what a dinosaur (if true) and will likely never get another job in football again. Damaged goods (and a crap manager to boot)

Wow.....this has degenerated quickly. What a surprise. I genuinely feel for Boruc, who really didn't do anything wrong last season but now has lost his place. If Koeman does not rate him/is unimpressed then Artur is best off somewhere else as he will have zero chance regaining his place. It is very frustrating....on the one hand we slate players leaving but then are unimpressed when Boruc (perhaps with good reason) states he is unhappy with things and not being given a chance. Football is a cut throat business for sure. Irene should also be cut some slack - she is just providing information and for the usual suspects to sneer and be their usual keyboard warrior is plainly out of order.

Heisenberg/Glasgow - you know Batman/Delldays/jamie is a parody and poor mans WUM. Don't rise to it. 1 more signing and I reckon we have a deeper squad than last year - really excited to see how the team does when it gels. Can't understand why people are scoffing at Isgrove (home grown, desperate to succeed) and disregarding him and saying how wonderful Townsend is. And re. Tadic - in pre-season and the Liverpool game he looked a far more dangerous player than Lallana did towards the end of the season where his ego could not get through the door. So signs are promising that he could well offer more than Lallana although time will tell.

the clause people are getting their knickers in a twist about (prove it, it can't be true, etc) mirrors exactly what View From The Top has been saying for quite some time.

Blimey....you lot do realize that Shaw could have not signed a pro contract with Saints and got a ton of money for signing for Chelsea/Man U whereas we would have just received a poxy "development fee". But he chose to sign that contract and so we have made a ton of money off Man U? Hopefully the lad will continue to show the immense talent he has.

The BVI loan and possibly others? The 100% overspend on the training ground that KL (not NC) then made good through her own money. Sure there is probably other stuff but at the end of the day I believe our owner has the clubs best interests at heart and we are in safe hands.

The piece shown on NBC Sports was obviously not the full post match interview. Was only about 90 secs to 2 minutes long and the interviewer asked him if he was surprised at the reception Lovren got which was when he started talking about yes he was surprised at the reaction to Lovren as the fans should be directing their anger at the Board after the "gaffer" left.

Think too many on here have forgotten, in their worship of Cortese, exactly whose money was being spent on the never never by our former chairman. IF we are self-sustaining and play attractive football with good cup runs then I think that is as much, realistically, we can expect. Good that KL continues to support the team and this seems to bear out what Guan mentioned at the end of last season that she has gotten the Saints bug.

The comments were on NBC Sports interview just now. Batman - still pathetically trying to be a WUM I see. And failing.

His comments are way, way off the mark and out of order. He should have kept his mouth shut and kept his opinions to himself. Surprised fans are blaming the players and not the Board - really? So we should applaud Lallana and Lovren's despicable behavior? Surprised Pochettino left and that reflects on the Board? Really, seriously? Slimy git decided in January he was leaving and tells his favorites to do the same and that is somehow the Board's fault. The Board have brought in Koeman, spent a large amount earned through sales (with more there to spend) and, based on today's performance, we could have an equally good season this year with a team that wants to play for Koeman and have not had their heads turned by 'superstars' like Gerrard on England duty. Shame on you Lambert.

Koeman promises not to use Saints as a stepping stone
washsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I have a feeling he will be a superb manager for us. It is obvious he will say what he thinks - even if it upsets some people. PLayers will know where they stand with him and he has already made a stance re. Schneiderlin and shown real leadership. Hopefully, after 10 games, we will be solid mid-table and can grow from there.
