  1. Exactly my earlier point. 3 of our first 4 games are tough as hell, and we'll do very well to even pick up a point from them, so even a couple of panic additions this week won't make things different. There's 3 weeks left of the transfer window, I'd rather we bide our time and bring in the correct signings. If we make the correct signings this week, well that would be the perfect scenario. But I don't see it.
  2. I can't believe we stuffed up our chance of getting into the fantastic League Two. Gutted I was. We had -10 points too and we stuffed it up. I hear that League Two is a brilliant league, according to my dad, the Torquay fan. I'd love nothing more than to see Saints get relegated three times. Pompey can do it, so why can't we? They've always done things better than us. Tsk.
  3. Really? So if I ask what your favourite cheese is, you'll tell me what the exchange rate is in Canada? :-)
  4. Bearsy, One TMS infraction point for not talking in a Bearsy-like fashion. Another for taking this thread off topic. And one for me for adding to its off topicness. Kind regards, 'Itler.
  5. Cork and Morgan have both played CB in the past. Again I'd crap my pants if we resorted to that too. Fox played centre back last year too. However the last thing we want is makeshift centre backs. That's worse than the crud ones that got us relegated in the first place.
  6. It'd be good, and somewhat of a relief, if Seaborne went out on loan. He looked good in League One IMO, but has yet to show me he's capable of playing at a higher level, let alone a level with some of the best footballers in the world. Good recovery experience for him if it happens. So, Fonte, Jos and Stephens. If that were our only centre back 3 this season, I'd crap my pants. Stephens is still learning the position. Two more centre backs MUST be brought in if this were to happen, and hopefully even if this doesn't happen we'll still see 1 in.
  7. Four pages away? There'll be suicides by then! Unless someone spams incessantly, then we may sign someone today...
  8. I hope that's what we're intending to do, but there are different/better targets available in January, especially those players frozen out by their clubs or contracts running out, or that excellent little lower league gem that set the first half of the season alight and is now being courted by top clubs.
  9. Tis weird that the surname Meehan links two missing children cases. Craig Meehan was Karen Matthews' boyfriend in the Shannon Matthews case, and Paul Meehan is the next door neighbour to Tia's grandmother that has been questioned for assisting an offender. Probably co-incidence, but still...
  10. IMO we've signed four quality players today that will do very well for us this season and in the future, and whose worth will only multiply should we need to sell them. We also have some quality players that we brought up with us. I still think we're favourites for a relegation for a reason though, and largely that's because the two areas of CB and a winger have yet to be strengthened. I do think we'll sort them out by the end of August though, and as long as we get a result against Wigan (which we are currently good enough to get), nobody really expects us to do much against the Manchesters and Arsenal. So really, the fixture list falling as it has has done us a big favour, buying Adkins more time to bring in the right players by the end of August. I'm chilled, and looking forward to the new season, but I won't base our season on the first four results.
  11. We don't have decent wingers... yet. I'd have a narrower 4-1-2-1-2 formation like Itchen Dan. Best team: Davis Clyne Fonte Jos Fox Morgan Davis Cork Lallana Jay/Billy Lambert or someting like dat. :-) (Mmm, beers.)
  12. With eczema like mine, i'll try anything once. I'd rather do her up the wrong'un though.
  13. Yep. But only in the bath, swimming pool or next door's kid's paddling pool. I'm a very clean animal.
  14. Incorrect. I've seen her wee on her leg and wipe it off with her hand. I wouldn't go near a woman like that. (I do get funny feelings in my pants when I watch though.) Fortunately my wife is much more dignified. As far as I'm aware.
  15. I have a lady friend that drops her knicks whenever and whereever she needs a p!$$ and doesn't think twice about it. Her philosophy is when she needs to go, she goes. I think this is wrong. Doorsteps are her favourite, but it explains why she wears dresses and skirts in lieu of jeans and trousers., for easy access. I have wee'd in public, I once did it on the Queen's front garden, the Long Walk. What are your thoughts on having a wee in public? Nice or nawty? Is pooing in public crossing the line?
  16. Transfers that should never happen: Number 1 - Tal Ben Haim to Saints. Commence hilarious posts...
  17. Very chavvy area. Good for public transport though, and they're desperately trying to improve it but you get a lot of trouble around there. Hounslow avoid likewise. Ealing is a good area, but if I could personally live anywhere in London (my missus won't allow it in spite of the fact she works in Twickenham) I'd live in Putney. Lovely area. My friend lived in Earlsfield too, that's a peaceful area. I lived in Chiswick years ago - loved it.

    stopped smoking

Good on you. Before my wedding in June, I went 10 weeks without smoking, bought up a Liberro Realis e-fag box set, and "quit" surprisingly effortlessly. As the wedding drew nearer, I grew more stressed, and ended up smoking again. I did feel much better not smoking though, and for a few weeks after not smoking I was hacking up all manner of grossness. Now I'm smoking again, but I'm enjoying it less than I did before, so it won't be long before I try quitting again. Cold Turkey requires tons of will power which I've demonstrated I don't have. E-Fags are the best solution, you get the nicotine hit (and have something to puff on) without the tar and chemicals and disgustingness in normal fags. One problem I did find though is that because they last so long per cartridge, I was toking almost constantly on nights out, and I woke up the next morning with a burning in my throat.
  19. Just like me on the SRS-started Loyal Saints forum. :-D http://loyalsaints.hotblack.myfreeforum.org/index.php It's been lying derelict for ages now though! Another breakaway forum was Plastic Saints. http://plasticsaints.myfreeforum.org/index.php which died as recently as this year. I liked S4E but it was very clicky. I used to love Banter though, I spent more time on there than the main Southampton forum. It's only on SWF that I spend more time on the Saints board - although this summer it's been hell. I like the Lounge, some good threads on there from time to time, but somebody needs to reinvigorate The Muppet Show.
  20. ...and a left back. If Fox has an injury as quoted, and Shaw has a knock this week, we're out of left backs, besides Clyne who can cover there if needed. Left back is still one of the positions we need strengthened, whether it be Buttner, Olsson or whoever.
  21. It does a bit, but probably only 5 of those will start vs Man City.
  22. Stephens at centre back. Now he's been converted from full back, does that mean he's a better young prospect than Martin, who we shipped out on loan? I've always thought Martin has looked very good when I've seen him...
  23. As the squad addition option of two Centre Back signings perhaps, but at least one CB we bring in has to be better than Fonte.
  24. They'll be lucky. Huddersfield are refusing to sell but I get the feeling if he were to leave, it'd take a relatively big bid from a Premier League club. I wouldn't be surprised to see him still at Huddersfield on September 1st.
