I've never lived in either, but I've been to both, and hands down Southampton is the better city. Portsmouth scares me. There's some plug ugly half breeds there. (i'm including my friend in that!)

With Deano, Morgan and Chaplow already in the midfield spots, perhaps Adkins sees Cork as the answer to that centre back spot? Thus meaning we're a striker short of starting our Championship season.

Would he be on a free transfer? If so, it's a fairly low risk signing, but I would like to see someone with pace brought in, unless Adkins is confident Forte has a future with us.

Was happy when Chaplow signed. Had a good loan stint with us previously and knew he could play at the higher level.
