Deadline Day is Tuesday 1st September at 5pm if i'm correct and I CANNOT WAIT! I'm off that day and am going to be glued to Sky Sports News the whole day, I just know something is going to happen regarding the club! I can feel it in me bones.

Go to hell, Mell(is) Go to your homes, Holmes. Bugger off, Bialkow(ski) Sod off, Saganow(ski) Get lost ya, Oscar Choke, Poke. These aren't as fun as when i started...

If this were Football Manager, aside from spending money on new players as if there were no tomorrow, i'd be playing 4-3-3, which, with no width in the side, i'd be interested to see try. My team would be: Davis Musty, or James if injured Thomas Perry Harding Lallana Gillett Morgan Greg Lambert Saga. I expect the team to be Davis James if Musty injured Thomas Perry Harding Mellis Wotton Morgan Lallana Saga Lambert

Agree about the five or six players needed comment. It's quite true. Our first team is ok, our strength in depth woeful. Mills and Holmes are out, and all of a sudden we're using Lallana on the left. Might as well play 3 up front. Put simply we need: Brick sh1t house of a centre back, A younger, talented centre back- i was happy we were linked with that Stockport lad, 21 and captain, Raynes is it? A midfielder with experience and class to compliment Morgan, A right winger with pace and crossing ability, even Ripley the robot would do if he was 12 years younger!, A pacy striker, even if the poles happen to stay, i think we lack one. Of course if the poles go, add another one or two to that tally! I do have full faith in Pardew, and i'm sure he's rectifying it as we speak, but the biggest problem in my eyes is if we obtain mid table this year, the wolves will pick off our better players, Lallana, Morgan et al, and rather than rebuild for next season's promotion push, we'll be back to square one.
-
Same old same old. Winning would feel weird anyway! Quite clearly we still have gaps in the team. Pace, experience, centre backs and wingers. Get these, win league. Simples.
-
Defenders please! It's quite clear we need two centre backs, please please please AP sign them by September! We also need wingers it's true. Lallana is no left midfielder. We'll still win this 2-1

In Reading's record breaking promotion season a few years ago, they let Musty take a penalty on the last day, because he was the only member of the outfield first XI that hadn't scored a goal all season. He nailed it too. Ergo, I can categorically confirm that I know Musty has taken one penalty successfully. Good enough for me!

Ordinarily, you'd look at this game and think, well Huddersfield are probably going to be a top 10, we're away and with a new striker that's already scored, and think we'll lose. Even with the memory of last season still lingering where, correct me if i'm wrong, we won more times away than at home. We're Saints, buggering up things when they're going well is what we do. But this is the new improved Saints. Yes the team's not finished, but what we have in the first team is good enough to beat anyone. Ergo, i think we'll win this. 2-1 is my prediction, regardless of who we sign before Saturday, with Lambert, on his way to scoring in 9 successive games, and Perry on the scoresheet. Major suprise of the game? Umm, Pulis to start.

Southampton football club is a joke. Talk about sexism. Not ONE female player, coach or chairman. Let's get some tittage into the club and prevent this moral sexist chauvenist piggery. Secondly, ticket prices. Far too low. If we want the club to do really well, we need to charge triple the current ticket prices in to generate income for the hard working board members. I'm sure the fans would happily pay thrice as much if it meant we could keep Lancashire on the books. Thirdly, is it so hard for Mr Liebherr to pay for flights to bring back the various Saints fans from around the world? They deserve to be here as much as him. Fourthly, St Mary's is poo. Ground sharing with Portsmouth (a very fine football club) is the way to go surely. Fifthly, I'm glad to have Lambert on board. To make room in my wardrobe for his shirt (which was dirt cheap - should be thrice as much), I had to burn my Matt Le Tissier shirt. Just as well, it was far too big for me. :-D

I'm wasting my last post of the day to say I lol'd at that. I actually think the club is being run very badly. I'm sat at home, glued to SSN and the internet, and nothing. Where's the bloody drama? As a Saint since 88, I've never experienced such a lack of drama and quietness. It's boring. I was so bored the other day in fact, that whilst watching SSN, I had to crack one out at Millie Clode just to liven things up a bit. YAWN! If our next signing doesn't have a double-barrelled name, I'm shaving off my pubes. Double barrelled names are the way to go from now on IMO. Never should have let Dutton-Black go. A fine double barrelled name there.

The way I see it, the squad is thus: GK: Davis (Forecast or Bart as cover) : SORTED RB: Musty (James as cover): SORTED LB: Harding (Mills or even Molyneux as cover): SORTED CB: Thomas, Perry (Wotton and Lancashire as cover?!?! F*** that) 2 NEW SIGNINGS! RM: Lallana, James? NEW RM WITH PACE IMO CM: James, Schneidelin, Gillett, Lallana, Wotton SORTED. LM: Holmes (with Mills as cover) NOT ESSENTIAL BUT COULD BRING IN A NEW LM if available... STR: Lambert, Paterson, Rasiak, Saga, IF RASIAK AND SAGA GO, WE NEED 1 or 2 MORE. To be a top of the table team, I still think we're 4 or 5 or even 6 players away from having the strength in depth to challenge at the top of the table. That said, if we count this as a conslidation season, and can keep the squad together next year, we don't have to add them all this summer or on January.

In Bungle's defence, Eelpie did highlight the wrong bit...

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm.................. Ok, I'll admit, I went two weeks without, got drunk, left the club I was in as their fag machine wasn't working, walked about half a mile to newsagent, walked back to club and paid to go back in! That's bad, I'm ashamed. On the up side, I have cut my intake right down to 4 a day, and I didn't have to make conversation with the missus for 2 days afterwards because she wasn't talking to me! :-D

Was reading the Beeb's review of the League One season and they picked out that 21 year old captain of Stockport as the player to watch for them. Centre back too! Hope our links with him are true, though bigger clubs are supposedly looking at him. Happy with links to Lambert too!
-
I think the Premiership just goes down to 19 teams for the season, with one less relegation spot. That seems most logical. No fan deserves to see his club fold, not even our greatest rivals.
-
Very impressed with: Davis, Thomas, Musty, Harding, Morgan, Patterson. Played well: Perry, Wotton, Saga. Must do better: Lallana, James. Thought Thomson looked ok when he came on, Gillett and Gobern not so much. Overall i think it was a fair result, though the ref wasn't brilliant. It's clearly obvious to everyone we need strengthening, but i believe we can put out a starting eleven to beat anyone in this league currently, on our day. If we keep hold of Morgan we could have the player of League One this season. A class above in my opinion and my man of the match for Saints, although i thought Thomas was brilliant. A key player for us if he stays fit. Lallana is lost on the left, and then the right. When Patterson came off he should have pushed up to support Saga. Musty's experience showed, he knew exactly what he was doing, and a good long throw to boot. A good first game, fitness will come. Bring on the transfers!
-
Damn, we miss out on Jamelia! We could always sign Will Haining and get Michelle Marsh! (Come to think of it, he's a CB, experienced, not too old and available on a free! Sign him up AP!) Then Marsh would be reunited with Lucy Pinder and we'd have a secksy St Mary's! On the topic of Brentford, now they've added Kabba I think they've done very well this transfer window. Wouldn't be suprised if they were the team to do the successive promotions this season...
-
I wouldn't go as far as saying i crack one off to my Matt Le Tissier shrine, but I do love the Saints. We all do, or we wouldn't put ourselves through such punishment!
-
I'd buy him- because with reports like that, he'd be worth ten times what we pay for him in a year's time!
-
Channel 4 digital teletext has us listed as finishing 14th today. I'd agree with that currently. Heart however reckons we can be 8th-12th
-
If we get a statue of ML our saviour, can we employ the guy that did the first TB statue... In all seriousness we're not the first and certainly not the last club to suffer through finances. I don't want us to splurge to achieve success, steady growth is safer.
-
It's an interview with Chris Perry. They're going to experiment on him with a new stretching technique to make him 6'5''.
-
Looking forward to signing old Ruddy Juddy. Next stop the Champions League!
-
I'd actually say, with Rasiak and Saga due to depart, we're more in need of strikers than defenders, but I'll be happy to see anyone come in.
-
I think we have one or two of the best 50 players in League One this season, but if i could bring one in it'd be a goal machine. Beckford.
