  1. opps lallana....now how do you feel mr big head?
  2. I'm sorry but if they clauses in their contracts for bonuses etc i cannot see how these cannot be honoured...sorry but this does ring true!
  3. Ok you want to elaborate?....Its easy to say he hasn't with nothing to back it up. I have stated this has come from someone within the family circle and certainly not someone that would make things up.
  4. I can confirm what The FalseLibero has written, i have this afternoon had the same info passed to me from an excellent source who would not lie. They have said Ings is weighing up his options between the two clubs but he has a strong pull towards Southampton because of family. If i thought for one minute my source was wrong i wouldn't bother posting this. My source is as close to the Ings family as you can get without being related!
  5. I had the pleasure of taking part in a Sky promotion roughly 12 years ago (might have been more, god where have the years gone) at Staplewood that was all about penalties. MLT was the main man there that afternoon taking penalties and playing in goal. He spoke how he always knew exactly where he was going to place his penalties and how he watched to see if the keeper made an early move. He described how he would just make a slight flick with his foot at the last moment if the keeper made a comittment one way to early. The man was a genius from the spot and i never had any doubt he would score when we got a penalty.
  6. it is really sad how some people hang onto every word out there on the net and believe it as gospel.....some of you are embarrassing bed wetting babies....ffs grow up!!
  7. MLT all day long. Agree with others that his pens were more pressure based.
  8. Lallana wants to keep his England place and a move to Liverpool will potentially see his chances enhanced rather than risking an iffy season with Saints. Thats just my take on it and i believe he had made his mind up to go before the season was finnished.....AND I suspect he KNEW Liverpool were coming for him....the same that RL probably had the heads up from the pool contingent in the England squad....or am i just being very cynical??
  9. Agree with Derry, no point in loaning him out, he could actually be useful this season. However if they want to buy him then i would let him go. No doubting his talent but his temperment???...Unfortunately the writing was on the wall the moment he opened his mouth when he signed and said he had come for the money!!.....I had hoped he might actually show his worth as well....but far too little on show.
  10. sadly Roy is correct, there are an elite few any they go to any lengths to protect that gravy train they are on. Think about it, how many players have Chelsea bought that would be first teamers in any tean outside the top four but have never or nearly never played for Chelsea first team. They buy these players to stop the other sides getting them and these players are happy to sit on their bums getting fat cheques each month for nothing. You may think i'm being cynical here but its true. We will never ever be a big team.....but hey ho i accepted that years ago and i don't want to support a team that buys itself Championships and Cups....that is empty victories as far as i'm concerned.
  11. On this point i do agree with Alpine. There is not much point in the other clubs competing and to be fair it has been like this since Sky became involved and some may argue before that even. The top clubs get richer and the smaller clubs just struggle to survive. What is it that keeps us all watching and following teams like ours that will always be one of the also runs???.....Its the David/Goliath thing.....its human to want to see the underdog have its day and thats what keeps the rest of the footballing world going. Personally i can see no joy in spunking hundreds of millions of pounds to buy a title......would you really be proud of that.....i wouldn't.....but maybe my values are not the same as others.
  12. The blame culture is really true and alive on this forum......it must be the Dons fault, it must be Poch's fault, it must be the new boards fault......ffs grow up! Before our fantastic last season would Liverpool have been interested in Lambert, Lallana and Lovren.....of bloody course not and these players would probably have been going nowhere had it not been for the past season. Ricky has earned his right to his move and so has Adam who stayed with us through thick and thin. If Lovren goes its because he has had an excellent season, his value has increased and he gets Champions league football......please don't anyone tell me these players would have happily stayed. In many ways we are a victim of our success and all our board can do is get what they feel is the best prices for players wanting to go and invest that money wisely......instead of being so negative why don't some of you look on this as a knew and hopefully exciting era.....believe me you might actually have a nice weekend instead of raising your blood levels!!
  13. maybe he is not wearing a nappy like so many on here!
  14. This 100%. Jesus we have some juvenile idiots and jump to massive conclusions based on feck all......not one of of you are on the board and knows whats going on behind the scenes, but you are all to willing to believe every bit of twitter, tabloid garbage etc and why????.....because we dont have a ridiculous board that come out every 5 minutes and deny every stupid press story!
  15. do any of you stop and think for one minute that players may have clauses in their contracts that allow them to talk to other clubs if a clause is triggered???.....suppose it is just easier to blame someone else.....seems to be the norm nowadays this blame culture....
  16. This would be my take on things
  17. why don't people give the board a chance and wait and see how things pan out before slating them and some slating KL ffs. I suppose everyone was really inspired when we signed a manager called Nigel Adkins and look how that worked out. The board are now having to show their mettle and should be judged on what happens next!......Poch was always leaving the minute the Don walked out. He was in control of that.....i don't believe for one minute the board could have changed his mind....and to be fair once he had shown no desire to be here then the board would have been right with the approach of only wanting someone they believed was totally committed.
  18. OK, can someone that bothers to look on other club forums answer this.....Are our fans the most miserable, pessemistic wrist slitting bunch?....or are most forums the same?
  19. Every club in the Premiership is a stepping stone bar the top four and even they cannot hold onto players if they want to go!....Van Persie from Arsenal to Man Utd......its the way of football, nothing stands still. We still have our club and we will still have a team to support.....part of me thinks this might just rattle KL who "might" think "i'm not going to let everything my dad built here dissappear"....i can see a scenario where we tempt a big name manager here with the promise of every £ of any transfer fee we might get and more....just a hunch.....but whatever we still have our club......want to trade places with Portsmouth???
  20. due to the number of wet fannies here this forum should officially rename itself to the "whore house forum"!
  21. Firstly i am not saying this means Poch is off and this is a possible replacement....but Chris Hughton was at the Grand Harbour hotel today.....he could have been there for anything completely unrelated to football and i gather there was a very large party there. Before you ask my source i can say its impeccable and i have seen the photographic evidence. The fact he was happy to have his picture taken with someone suggests its probably unrelated to Poch possibly going but i thought i would share!
  22. At the moment none of us on here know whats going on, thats the only FACT on here, the rest is pure speculation on ever changing press stories.......However IF Poch is leaving for Spurs then i can not blame him and i would have to assume it is because he has not got the re-assurances about players he wanted. Anyone that honestly thinks Spurs are not bigger than us really needs to take a hard look at themselves. Totally agree the managers job there is a poisoned chalice and i cant personally think why anyone would take it, BUT the players they have are decent and i'm sure MP can do a dam sight better with them than Sherwood (and no i don't rate him but thats not for here and now). We are not a Man Utd that are millions in debt but hey ho thats how they do things, we are not owned by a Russian with more money than sense or a Man City that have just been fined how many millions?......we are Southampton, a club that was always destined to not eat at the top table unless bought out by someone with no common sense at all. KL and her father had a plan but that never ever included pouring and pouring money into the club for ever and ever. We have had a brilliant ride and i have loved every minute and WILL continue to support SFC no matter who is at the helm and who is on the pitch. I look at it as a new chapter about to begin....it may not be as good as previous chapters but thats the mystery1
  23. I despair, anyone would think the club is about to cease to exist the way some people go on on this forum......get a grip ffs!
  24. having digested what the Don has had to say for the last couple of hours has certainly not helped me feel any better about our current situation. Will be very interesting to see what happens in the next couple of months and indeed the next couple of weeks when i think we will know if we will be looking for a new manager and having to replace some of our best players. The only small shred of comfort i draw from the Dons comments are those about MP. I think he may well of adviced MP to stay put for now and not put his head on the block in a job like the Spurs manager. Obviously this was probably all prior to the Don leaving and Poch may have other thoughts now.....but one thing does make sense, Poch and his team keep saying they don't understand the English obsession with contract talks because he has another year left on it....i think its quite possible he intends to see out that year and then evaluate his position. Just my opinion. I don't think the Don knows anymore than you and i what is going on regarding possible transfers. I can't see any of our board or KL phoning him and saying we have had this or that offer for Luke/Adam etc etc. He is purely speculating the obvious, that other clubs will be interested in our players and that he would have done his best to prevent anyone leaving. Love him or hate him, he had a vision, the manager and the players bought into it.....unfortunately KL decided some of his power hold needed reigning in....and to be fair its her money.
  25. Nothing much for anyone to moan about in that. What he says is pretty much as most of knew already......and i have no doubt that if he were still at the helm we would not have as much uncertaintity about the manager and top players staying. I really don't think anyone can doubt he sold his vision to the players.....ok i totally accept he was playing a game of monopoly as none of the money being spent was real to him
