As somebody who has flown as a passenger literally hundreds of times, I have always believed the industry to be highly regulated and fundamentally very safe. However you can never ignore the human factor and that humans (even so called intelligent professionals) will do stupid things at times. I have seen recent reports of commercial pilots who have been nicked for 'drink / flying', which is probably the furthest thing from a passengers mind when they embark. Even today I come across this bbc story of a private pilot who appears to have broken quite a few rules and regulations but luckily everybody got to walk away. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-47316187 Really am quite surprised that the industry is perhaps not quite as squeaky clean as I first thought.

Remember his first game back at the 365 - was half hearted at best as far as I remember - gave away a pen (which Frazer saved..!). Maya scored a great volley for us - but as is normal we cocked it up in the last couple of minutes when Crouch got the winner. Don't think VvD ever reached his best with us again - he just wanted out - plain and simple. Sad tale of spoiled kid not getting his own way, played out in public.

With all due respect I thought we were currently in the middle of a set of 'key features games', and we ain't exactly doing well. The bottom line is we have to start winning games, any games. Time for some of the players to step up and start delivering, we can't rely on so called 'key games'.

Where you make that assumption from I've no idea. I may not debate as vehemently as some on here, but there is no way that I think the club has done no wrong. 3 years of decline is pretty damning evidence that those at the top have made some quite monumental cock ups. Despite the much vaunted 'black box' crap that the club likes to spout I very much doubt that our scouting procedures are very much different or better than any other club in the league. All clubs will have lists of players that they are interested in / would like to buy, but whether that's possibly in a January window is not so black and white. The club have made tons of mistakes over the years, I'm not going to try to deny that, but in the 'big picture', we are the club I support, and I will do in the Championship next season. As others have said, you're going to get them in most crowds. Unfortunately social media only helps to fuel the fire in some respects, looking at Twitter (which I don't do very often) you can see that a lot of the posts really aren't bothered about the two individuals concerned, they're simply other teams fans having a dig. The 2 guys that did this were way out of line, I hope they get a ban of some length, but to say they deserve life bans is ott. I was at WBA last season for the Cyrille Regis tribute game, an hour of tribute and celebration of his life, Saints fans were impeccably behaved and took part throughout. Not strictly true. Most teams will be seeing how they start the season with the squad that they have, with a view to who they want to get in in January. Given that we'd sacked our manager and were in the bottom half of the table, I'd agree that we should've used the window more wisely. But we could've been in a totally different position and doing well, therefore not needed to do much in the window,. But to say we had 12 months to plan for it is wrong.
