Good post, it highlights many of the points that a lot of people seem not to have grasped. HMRC did not just wake up one morning, look at the books and see that PFC owed a large chunk of money and decided, off the cuff, to collect. As you have detailed - where we (PFC - HMRC) are now is the culmination of meetings, events and agreements that have tried to rectify the outstanding amounts by agreeable means, those means have failed and bought no fruition to the Taxman. HMRC have tried to go about their business reasonable, unfortunately PFC were unresponsive and now the courts are involved - there is no bullying here.

Have enjoyed both podcasts upto now - am a bit of a virgin in the podcast world, but managed to learn how to get it to play in winamp - and am set for future broadcasts. Would love to hear discussion on things like: Where are they now - former players, managers, etc Forum thread / post(er) of the week - loads to pick from here Blast from the past - we have some great games to look back on (good & bad) Would also love to hear some of the view of posters here as well - I reckon the likes of Benjii, VFTT, TDD et al would make for lively discussion and debate, so long as it didn't decend to fisticuffs! Perhaps you should record it in a boxing ring - see how it goes..! Good job though - keep it coming, look forward to it.

Tomorrow will indeed be an interesting day. My only slight concern though is how robustly HMRC and indeed the Court persue the issues. Don't forget, Pompeys outstanding tax bill is now well publicised, and as a result the tax man has a duty of care to all other law abiding tax payers to persue Pompey. In effect the monies outstanding should be going towards services to benefit the nation - it is our money. Effectively Pompey have been paying 'cash in hand' - tis that simple - should a smaller business be proved guilty of the same offence then it would be likely that they would not only have to repay the outstanding tax arrears, but would also be subject to heavy fines as well. Therefore, on this occasion the tax man is our champion and would be unable to simply roll over and die, allowing administration of the company to be the easy way out. That said - it will be interesting to see how far they are prepared to go to either see justice done, or be placated by yet another company who have 'gotten into difficulties'.

Gotta do much better than that - no clean sheet FFS.

Being the ever optimistic happy clappy fan, it could have been worse, could have lost, kept a clean sheet - other than that; underwhelmed by the performance based purely by what I saw on here. As somebody else has said - would actually have been fairly happy with 4 points from the last two games - but having taken the lot at Norwich it feels a bit like a kick in the balls. Oh well - back to the Pompey takeover thread to cheer myself up again.
