Oh no pal. That was you, all you. Your stock reply whenever you saw I had questioned Cortese on anything was the hilarious "when are we marching" line, Interesting you're now trying to turn it into something other people said. It was as equally hilarious as your other gag from that era, calling me part of the "Mitty gang" insisting I had several logins. Maybe it was more that people thought Cortese and yourself for that matter were a bigger div than most people realised at the time. Good to see you're still using my name though given all the effort you went to find it out.

I feel for people like bridge to far at this time of year. Imagine the conversation she had with her grandchildren this morning explaining that while their friends will be excitedly unwrapping their presents this morning they won't be getting any from her as religion is disgusting and Britain isn't a Christian country. Saintandy666, MLG and verbal should refuse all their presents as they hold a similar view and have openly stated that view over the years on here. I'm sure persons of such strong beliefs, intelligence and integrity won't bow to pressure and will maintain their stance today.
-
Morning hypocrites. Presumably a lot of you who will be greedily stuffing your faces with turkey, Drinking to excess whilst spamming Facebook with pictures of your presents to celebrate a Christian festival will spend the rest of the year telling everyone that you aren't religious, even claiming the bible is a book of fairy tales and god and Jesus didn't exist. Enjoy your day and wallowing in the filth of your own hypocrisy.

I had the pleasure of attending a Q&A session with Alan Ball about 20 years ago. He was a smashing bloke, afterwards he stood at the bar with me and my mate chatting over a pint of Guiness like old friends. My dad called me at that time and when I told him I was stood next to Alan Ball he didn't believe me, so Alan Ball took the phone off me and stood there talking to him for about 5 minutes about the old times. Was a great evening.

Good stat Brett. 9 draws from those fixtures as well which gives us 45 points, over a 38 games season that equals 47, so enough to finish around 11 or 12 based in last seasons table. Maybe things aren't as bad as you and the other helmets on here like to make out.
-
He's got him mixed up with that other class young striker that spurs loaned us a few years ago, thomas Pekhart, which is an easy mistake to make. And yes, we looked terrible in the highlights, again. Sloppy goals and poor finishing, yet again.
-
Certainly not the players. And there in lies the problem. No character or bottle in the team to turn it around when things are against us. No leaders on the pitch to rally them. Who boll+cked the back four for their school boy defending for the first goal? it wasn't just today either you never see a saints player tearing a strip of another for a mistake. It's almost like sloppy errors which lead to so many goals are a matter of course and absolutely fine. A good team spirt isn't all about being mates, it's about being able to raise players around you and if that means giving one of yours a roasting when they need it then so be it. I don't see this happening at all.

I agree with you there, the Dell was brilliant at times but it did go through periods where the atmosphere was not great. At times though it could be very intimidating and have a bit of needle. When you look at some home ends particularly a rows the days it makes you realise how sterile English atmospheres have become. The Northam is more like this, with St Mary's full of consumers demanding to be entertained rather than fans supporting the team through thick and thin. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=a91EJpWwLt4
-
So you're not a saints fan then, you're a premier league consumer wanting to be entertained. If that means saints lose so be it but as long as you feel you got your money's worth. Rather than backing the team you'll abuse any player you don't deem to meet the standard you believe they should reach based on your consumer price/entertainment pivot. Sadly you won't be the only one like that there tomorrow. There will be lot of people more interested in the food and drink, the PA system, the whole match day experience than if saints put in a shift tomorrow and grind out a win. With the same I've paid and I'll boo if I want to type dissatisfied consumer attitude.
-
that's the problem with the modern customers that go to football. Sometimes they need to actually support the team rather than being preoccupied with eating, drinking and slagging the whipping boys off and actually get behind the team. Back when customers were fans this happened a lot more and 3 happened a lot more even if 1 and 2 didn't.

Yeah why not we've already got The long ball tactics The big lump up top The good little 'en to pick up his flicks The midfield terrier So all we need in the pacy wideman and we've got the perfect 1985 set up Plus out spiteful nickname front 4 would be superb AnDross---what a waste of mane---Turdic ---------Pelle end------- With Gashton on the bench

And just how many of these "players you know will improve the team" have Leicester signed? Imagine if we'd signed a third choice stoke centre half who'd spent almost a year out injured, Or a player that couldn't get a kick at villa. For all those hailing Leicester the fact is their sum is greater than their parts right now and if we'd signed the vast majority of those players instead of them there would be meltdown. I mean I can't see to many champions league clubs coming in for Wes Morgan can you?
-
You can be sure that had it been us signing those players instead of Leicester for the fees that they paid for them those signings and others would have been dismissed as cheap replacements from a board lacking ambition. We'd have had post after post from certain people starting with their favourite line of. "you can't expect to sell your best players every year and replace them on the cheap and hope it works out" imagine if we replace Mane next summer with a £750k signing from a French Ligue 2 side, the meltdown would be something to behold.
-
Fair play to them, been excellent again tonight. A team playing with energy, aggression and confidence with their two best players bang in form. A squad of relatively cheap signings with many players who haven't made it elsewhere. I'll be amazed if they keep this up over the season, theyll pick up injures sooner or later but great while it lasts.

I don't think its that mate. I think its that by and large most people that got to football these days, especially those that post on Internet forums are complete and utter helmets. Although there is much wrong with modern football, the rise of the mongboard over the last 10-15 years has given even the most clueless dinlow a voice which provides me with endless hours of humour. reading the views of the self styled genius tacticians, motivational gurus, finance whizzes, physiotherapists, scouts, legal experts and so forth that inhabit this forum keeps me grounded good times and lifts my spirits in bad times. I'm never quite sure if this place excels itself in good times with the deluded ramblings of those who believe we are English Barcelona trapped in a stadium far too small for us or in bad times with the wrist slitting, everyone is sh*t hand wringing.
-
If you think that is the case then case how arrogant have we become? Do you really believe that to win away at Palace we simply need to turn up? They are a very good side and have been for all of this calendar year. Pardew has done an incredible job and they've done very well in the transfer market. People accuse the big clubs of arrogance yet here we are claiming that we should be able to brush aside decent sides like palace without being at our best. Kind of sums up why so many are in meltdown at a few bad results that all clubs will have this season.
-
"Bloody hell fans are so ungrateful" Well said Nick, I quite agree. We should be grateful for all the the Liebherrs have done for us. All this whinging makes me worry if Kat will pull the plug on us. It doesn't matter if we go down anyway because we achieved the five year plan in 3 years meaning we are now 1 year into the next 5 year plan so that gives us 4 years to make it there. Remember where we were 7 years ago everyone!
-
Another example of how far we've come since Cortese was rightly ousted from his position. Cortese held us back in so many ways including match day announcing. 2 years ago benali wasn't welcome at St Mary's now he is back with open arms. With his daughter employed as the official club team announcer the complete match day experience can only be enhanced. Credit to all involved for respecting our legends as well as brining the next generation through.

Oh no you make yourself look stupid so easily yourself my tubby little friend. Credit where it's due though the troll from Tyrol still gets bites a plenty Don't worry though pal a kings sized mars bar with a red bull chaser will soon have your buzz back.
