Danny Welbeck - Told he can leave.. Only for mid table club
Turkish replied to SaintLondon's topic in The Saints
Yeah that'll be it dopey. Like I said, you're living up to your reputation, I've given reasons why I think he's decent, not great, but decent yet all you've done is put your fingers in your ears and scream 'he's sh*t, he's sh*t, he's sh*t' which is no more than we've come to expect from you to be honest. -

So he picked him to play away at real madrid in a champions league knock out game, where Wellbeck played very well and scored by the way, simply because he likes to play young players. You're living up to your reputation pal -
Hang on, did our master tacticians on here say he had a sh*t game and think he isn't up to it?

If he's sh*t why did Alex ferguson pick him for all man Uniteds biggest games that season and not always up front? -

Yep and if we signed the *insert foreign nationality* Wellbeck from *insert name of big club from Italy/Spain/Germany/France* people would be raving about how amazing it is to sign an international with that many caps from a club like that. He's amazing he is, just look at his YouTube video and FM stats and anyone who says other wise is a c*nt who hates the club and wants us to fail. -

Hmm maybe. But if wellbeck had a fancy name and was exactly the same player but playing in a foreign country people would be wetting themselves about what an amazing signing it was. -

I'm hearing we are linked with a player called Danielle wellbeccio. He's a versatile striker/attacking midfielder from udinese. International player with 8 goals in 26 games for Uraguay. He's quick and strong, can play as a centre forward, winger or attacking midfielder. Watched his youtube best bits and he's scored some great goals including a brilliant and clever back heel winner v Columbia in the 2012 copa America a brilliant chip for udinese v Verona. He would be a brilliant signing, id never heard of him until today but a real statement of intent and fits just into the sort of pacy, versatile player we need. -

I watched him play a few times on the telly and thought that if Alex Ferguson had picked him for Man Uniteds most important games the last time they won the league he must be good. I noticed that he can play in a number of positions, from centre forward to winger, attacking wide midfielder. That he tracks back and puts a reasonable shift in defensively offering cover to the full back, he has a good engine and pace and that in saintsweb tradition is also young, hungry and therefore guarenteed to improve. Then i remember that talksport and a few other places had said he was crap so i looked at his stats that he had only scored 20 goals in 90 games for Man united so he must be terrible so NOT one for me i'm afraid. He is sh*t. -
Ah fair play then mate. You're a better lot than many of of our whinging saps who would be sulking and crying and going on about how the whole world hates us if our former 29 year old striker had not had a sniff of international football until one game after he left.
-
You'll be dining out on that gag for years.
-
Feyenoord fans must be furious that he never got a sniff of an international call up when he played for them but goes to a premier league club and he's straight in the Italy squad.

Ronald Koeman on Artur Boruc's future at Saints

No that was when came up, we got Gazza instead. -

Exactly. He was available on free and no one had signed him, he was in terrible shape when he arrived and took a good few months to get fit. I like Boruc, hes been a good player for us and quite a good character but he was paid to do a job and did it well after being left on the shelf by the numerous other clubs who need a keeper the summer he was available for nothing. I keep reading that goalkeepers play until they're 40 but as has Been pointed out not many are first team regulars past their mid thirties in the PL and the ones that do are keep themselves in fantastic shape, like Fridel and James, Boruc doesn't. -

Wasn't his record In the early part of the season Truly awful, something like 11 goals conceded from 15 shots on target or something similar. The goalkeeper that doesn't make saves. -
When it comes to the subject of food at football, I've had a gutful

Was this one premature tubby? Or do you put this one down to 'frustration'? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/archive/index.php/t-41043.html

Seriously what's wrong with people? Fat, greedy, lazy wa*kers.
-
So 4 in the last 30 years. 2 of then considered to be amongst the best keepers on their generation.
-
This is a fantastic post frank, the work of a genius. Well it was until about the 4th sentence. Just as a reminder who was it who won the league last season? Oh that'll be the team with the biggest wage bill of any sports team on the planet. How about the season before that? That'll be the biggest football club In the country with the biggest commercial income. Surely the season before that shows us that it ain't all about money? Who won it that season? I love how you lamblast others for romantic idealism shortly after claiming clubs that want to be in the premier league have lost their sporting ideals and it ain't all about money. Yes Franco, it's a sport. It's about being the best. Unfortunately the best are the best because they have the most money.
-
Yes you did invent it. You think we need 4, we've got 2 lined up so we've deprioritised 2. Here's news, only in your chocolate obsessed mind.
-
Have you seen him play yet?
-
Oh no my portly pal. I think you'll find I've been very calm, supportive and balanced. Unlike some who are inventing scenarios where the club have deprioritised signings because they don't match what they think
-
'This thread is full of hysterical drama queens' said the bloke who has written us off every season and once claimed we were run like a crappy area side b&b.
